Apartment was very clean and decorated very nicely. Bedrooms were large and the bed/bedding was very comfortable. Living room was nice but small and needs more seating for guests. The neighborhood was not the best and there were multiple cats that appear to belong to the residents downstairs, constantly meowing very loudly outside the kitchen door.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 1890 Historic Apt in Starland District accommodation. It was beautiful. The renovations have been well thought through and the place oozes with charm.
The location is at the southern end of the historic district and you will likely have to use a rideshare service to get to the main sites of Savannah.
For those who like to eat in, there is a small table with a couple of small stools to eat on. This may or may not work depending on your group.
The natural light that flowed in through the large windows was awesome.
We would stay again.
We had previously rented in Midtown before moving out to the country and wanted a good home base close to downtown to host family coming to town for a Bananas game. This was perfect for the full Savannah experience. We were able to walk to the Forsyth Farmers Market and Starland Yard. We also were a quick 7 minute drive to downtown to do River Street/City Market.
We made this reservation a couple months ahead and Lauren answered questions ahead of booking. When Hurricane Helene hit and we lost all power and utilities, she was able to accommodate an early check in (even without power yet) so we could at least have running water. Luckily the power was restored at the property just before our arrival and we were met with cool air and intel letting us know about an open grocery store to grab food. We were even offered use of her personal grill to make food since restaurants were mostly closed due to power outages.
I cannot say enough about Lauren and her hospitality. 100/10 recommend this (and her) to anyone who’s looking for a place to stay in a city we’ve come to love.
