2nd Time staying in a Vrbo but the stay was awesome. I was in town for work for the week and it was like coming home. Wi-Fi was good, neighborhood is perfect, almost like Mayberry lol. When I return and if this place is available, I would definitely love to stay again!
This has become our go to place to stay when we're visiting in the Columbia area. Comfortable, convenient and a really great house to spend a weekend, week, or longer.
The stay was great. The house was very clean, great location, and the most accommodating VRBO I have ever stayed in! I will definitely stay here again!!!
We stay here when visiting our grandson in Columbia. Close to Columbia and local shopping, quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours and lots of room. Beautifully decorated house and super comfortable. Jana is great host and the house is perfect every time we stay. Highly recommend!
We love the location. Was in a neighborhood type setting. Walking distance to their quaint lil town. It was very convenient to where my daughter lives, restaurants shopping and highways. Dog friendly and our pups loved it there. Had pretty much every you need in the house. Very comfortable and cozy. We would definitely recommend.
Adorable house in a quiet neighborhood. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable visit. Decor was beautiful. House was immaculate. Checkin was easy. We will do this again.
The host had the property well lit and warm. The host was in touch multiple times to inquire if I needed anything. All the comforts of home were provided. Property was not only stunning but spotless. This home belongs in Architectural Digest. It is by far the most beautiful and welcoming property I have had the pleasure of staying at. Downtown shops are a safe short walk away, I highly recommend this lovely home. 10 stars.
We were in town for the weekend, perfect quiet location in a small town. House was decorated beautifully and everything needed was thoughtfully there. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We felt like we were staying in an Architectural Digest home. We didn't want to leave. It was glorious.

We came to the area to do some work on a new house for my grand daughter and her husband. We also were going to Nashville. This location was very convenient between the two locations . The house was perfect for our group.
Very clean property with all the amenities. This quiet neighborhood was an ideal spot to wind down. The house had so much charm. I would definitely recommend to everyone traveling in this area. The listing is exactly as it was.
This house is beyond perfection. We enjoyed our short stay here in this lovely home. The description was accurate as well as directions. Highly recommend.
Our family really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored home. The host has the home decorated in a southern living style with a cozy feel. The beds were comfy and the kitchen stocked. Jana is very responsive to any questions. Check in and out was simple. Jana is a gracious host and we appreciated her sharing her home. We would highly recommend this home. Our family would stay again.🌿
My mom & I spent several days in this gorgeous home! It was a quiet, peaceful neighborhood & historic home was just as pictured. Jana was a gracious, wonderful host! Very responsive & detailed ahead of time. It was the perfect comfortable spot to meet & spend time, both of us traveling from out of state. We would LOVE to visit again!
The Hay Long Home is a true beauty. She boasts tall ceilings, lovely hardwoods, and impeccable decor. The soaking tub was just what we needed after a day of sight seeing. We would love to enjoy her again!
An excellent property. Nicely appointed in period and well furnished. A great place for quiet relaxation, within 30 minutes of Civil War sites in Franklin, Columbia and points south. Easy 90-minute drive to Shiloh National Battlefield Park. The owner is courteous, helpful and extremely accommodating. Thanks.
Great home in a nice neighbourhood and small town. We had a great stay and host Jana has tremendous attention to detail to make sure everything was perfect. We were visiting our new grandson in Columbia and this was very close and convenient. Beds and furniture very comfortable and house was clean and beautifully decorated.
Everything was truly wonderful. Communication was exceptional and checkin couldn't have been essier. The home and neighborhood is so picturesque that we sent pics to our kids. One of them said that it looked like if we were in a Hallmark movie.
I agree! Everyone we encountered was very friendly, also. This was our first time in the area and we will definitely be back.
My family of four including kids age 11 and 13 were so comfortable at this historic Mount Pleasant home. It was a treat to stay there and hard to leave. The beds were very comfortable. We even reached out once we were home to ask about the mattress. We wish we had more time to enjoy sitting on the porch. We were treated to a few exciting summer rain showers. So many thoughtful amenities were provided. Discovering this rental home was a highlight of our two week road trip from California. This was our first time using a rental home rather than a hotel. Jana set the bar. It will be hard to beat this experience.

About the host

We love hosting our guests. It’s important to us that they love our house the way that we do. We have taken the time to furnish it with the style the house deserves.
Why they chose this property
We love Mt Pleasant because it’s away from all the traffic. We love the feel of this little town and instantly met all of our neighbors. We come down some times for the music and all of the wonderful programs the city puts on. We use the house as our little getaway
What makes this property unique
Our house is so unique because it was built in 1889. The original owner use to own the entire area. He had a daughter named Hay and his last name was long. That’s why the street is named HayLong. The high school use to be named HayLong High School as well.
