Wonderful trip in THE most perfect house. 2 families with 3 young kids with ample space and every amenity you could want. Days spent at the lake front, grilling over open fires, fishing (very successfully) off the dock, paddle boarding, and pontoon boat hire from the very competent Tyler at Beacon Boat rentals. Barb was the perfect hostess and gave us great tips, including nesting eaglets at one of the small islands. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll defo be back!
We had a great time at this wonderful lake house. It is very well equipped with all the supplies and activities one could ever want. The location is excellent and the lake is beautiful. Would happily return!
Sunrise field house is an amazing property with incredible views of the lake. We had a group of nine and we had plenty of room for everyone. The house is as beautiful as advertised and renting the pontoon boat made the vacation even better because we were able to explore the entire lake. Russ and Barbara were excellent hosts and very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.
We loved the property and the home! The amenities were wonderful, the decor beautiful, the lake so lovely and the owners very communicative. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time at Sunrise Field House! Barb and Russ were great, and very accommodating. We had a baby with us and they happily supplied us with a few extra baby items they had. The view is spectacular, and wildlife was great. We saw bald eagles, osprey, deer, beavers and hummingbirds would visit us while sitting on the top deck. Highly recommend!
Barb’s house is AMAZING! Great views, access to lake, amenities, hot showers, double sink in kitchen this house has it all! We enjoyed the house very much and hope to be back soon!
We absolutely loved our week here; the house is better stocked with everything than our own homes! It’s huge and comfortable. And the boat and lake was brilliant fun; beavers, otters, deer, plenty of birds and fish and stars...it was idyllic. We will be back for certain.
Very nice house, we had 6 adults and 4 children, (ages 2-9), very much appreciated all the toys, games, shuffleboard, pool, kayaks, paddleboards etc, all had a fun time. Very private with beautiful views, house was very well kept up, unlike some we have rented in Maine in the past. Would definitely come back!!
We have been staying at lakes in Maine for some time and this home was by far our favorite. From the minute we pulled into the driveway, we were impressed. This is a large home with enough space for everyone to spread out. It is beautifully designed with great furnishings, a fully stocked kitchen, quality linens, and great dock. The view to the lake is breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting out back every day, taking a dip in the hot tub and the lake. In the past we used boating companies, and renting Barbara and Russ's boat plus the gas station on the corner was convenient. This was one vacation we will remember for many years to come.
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful home on Androscoggin Lake. Spacious home with beautiful lake views and all the amenities you could hope for. Would go back in a heartbeat!
My wife, daughter, and I stayed here with a couple other small families over the Fourth of July week (2019), and had such an awesome vacation. The pics for this house really don’t do it justice. There are beautiful views throughout, it’s basically brand new, tons of space for kids to run around. The yard is huge and beautiful, with a nice swimming dock out on the lake. Lots of toys for all ages...swing set, fishing rods, SUPs, kayaks, canoes, pool table/ping pong, shuffleboard, hot tub, etc. The owner, Barbara was super easy to communicate with. She gave us her cell and was always quick to respond.
Overall would recommend this place, and will absolutely be going back at some point!

Beautiful home with a stunning view and ample room for 8 adults.
This is a lovely property, just as nice in person as it is in the photos provided. There is plenty of room in all living areas and even the bedrooms are quite spacious. Loved the kitchen! With 4 women cooking at the same time, the ample counter space and 2 sinks proved valuable. And the kitchen was well equipped. It had just about all of the utensils and cookware we needed. Loved the huge porches on both levels. Spent lots of time sitting outside looking at the fabulous view of the lake and the woods. There are only a few window A/C's and a couple of days the heat and humidity were such that the kitchen/dining area and a couple of bedrooms were pretty warm. Box fans didn't quite do the job.Would strongly recommend this property for anyone wanting a Maine getaway in a great location! And the owner Barbara Angell was a dream to work with. Great find!

Spacious and quiet
We had a family trip with 2 families and our father in law and the layout of the house was perfect. The house is on a beautiful hill with 4 swings out back and lots of boating options. We enjoyed the view of the quiet lake everyday enjoying our coffee and cocktails.

Beautiful House, Great Location
This is a wonderful property. It is gorgeous and secluded yet has so much to offer. Barbara and Russ the owners are great people who made us feel comfortable staying in their beautiful home. There were 13 of us all together and there was plenty of room for the kids to hangout away from the adults. We did bring a few air mattresses and there was lots of room use them in the bedrooms. We enjoyed all that this home had to offer including the kayaks and paddle boards.
We also recommend eating at Fast Eddies a 50's style drive in restaurant, yummy home made ice cream and lots of fun for the kids!
I highly recommend this home and hope to rent it again next year.
Thank you again Barbara & Russ!

Beautiful house and property!
Great place to enjoy the lake, plenty of room inside and a lot of nice deck/patio space. Many different yard games and vessels to enjoy on the lake (paddle boards, kayaks, croquet, swings, etc). Property was well maintained and the owners are responsive to any issues.

HUGE house with great view of Lake Androscoggin
This house is very spacious, open and clean. We had 8 adults and 4 teenagers (ages 12 - 77) staying for two weeks and all enjoyed their stay very much!
The main floor has a very large kitchen (with separate walk-in pantry), living room, dining room and master suite (which includes the laundry facilities). The large living room has ample seating with it's huge wrap-around sofa and separate recliners or rockers. The dining room sat 8 at the table and 3 at the island - so the kids usually ate outside at the large table on the deck. The kitchen was a dream to prepare meals in - with a large commercial stove and plenty of counter space for various members of the family to help with preparations without getting in each others way. Another refrigerator (perhaps in the garage) would have been helpful for a our very large group.
The lower level has a huge living area with a large pool table, 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 queen beds in one bedroom, a single queen in the second bedroom and the third bedroom had 2 full sized beds. Each bedroom had ample closet/dresser space - there was even enough space to put blow up beds (for the teenagers) in all those bedrooms.
We had fun using all the "outdoor" stuff (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, hammock, corn hole game and hot tub). There are plenty of places to go explore on the lake while you are there. Or, just sit on the large decks to enjoy the views and RELAX. There was a mother loon hatching her baby while we were there - which was a beautiful sight to see. Also there was a "resident" beaver we got to see quite often as well.
I would have given this house a 5 star ratings except for the lack of A/C. VRBO listed air conditioning for this house. I know that ME doesn't usually require air conditioning however we had a lot of hot/humid days and have several family members with COPD & asthma - so we had to turn on the A/C. There are only 2 window units on the upper floor on opposite sides of the house. We had to leave both units running at full blast 24/7 to keep it bearable. These 2 A/C units took the humidity out of the air but did not provide much cooling (since they were trying to cool too much floor space). If central air is a requirement for you please be aware. Also, since there is no A/C in the lower level (only table fans in the bedrooms), it had a stale smell the entire time and was very damp. Perhaps a dehumidifier is needed.

lots of room and great for children
Spacious home with plenty of room for indoor and outdoor activities. Nice upper deck for outside meals and enjoying the fine views of the lake. An interesting lake to explore. An easy paddle across the bay to town or longer paddles out to islands and rivers on the main lake. Our grandkids much enjoyed paddling and sailing not to mention fishing and swimming. Kitchen is large and well equipped and has a large walk-n pantry. Owners were very helpful with information about the house and area (such as best lobster places, local happenings, etc.)

Wonderful vacation home
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful vacation home. Plenty of space and very comfortable beds. The dock made it very convenient for boating and fun on the lake. Paddle boarding was so much fun. Barbara and Russ were extremely helpful through the week and certainly highly recommend this place.
Serene, peaceful, very private area. Lake was not crowded at all – even during a holiday week.

Amazing lake house with great accommodations
This is truly an amazing lake house rental that has all the comforts of home and more. The 10-hour drive from New Jersey to Wayne, Maine to stay at this house was well worth the trip. Our family is already talking about renting this house in the future.
Don’t bringing anything but your family, clothes, fishing poles, and camera. There is great super market about 10 minutes away that has all the food and beverages (including alcohol) you need. The lake house includes everything you will need to cook.
There is a huge porch and comfortable patio furniture overlooking the lake. From the porch, we enjoyed the sunshine reflecting on the lake, watched the bald eagles soaring and two humming birds feeding on the hanging flower baskets. Cooking was easy in the modern kitchen with a huge refrigerator, two sinks, and a professional-grade gas stove and oven. There is also a propane grill on the porch for grilling. There is plenty of room for everyone to eat either at the 8-seat dining room table or at the table on the porch.
We enjoyed the kayaks and canoe include in the rental property. The kayaks and canoe were a great way to check out the rest of Androscoggin Lake and its wildlife. Having the kayaks and canoe readily available each day was a huge benefit and saved us from renting kayaks from a not-to-nearby rental company which would been very costly. We did rent the boat for the week, but we are considering it on our next stay after Russ took us an awesome boat ride and tour of Androscoggin Lake; including the highlight of the boat ride, bald eagles on one of the islands.
Evenings were special sitting on the bank of the lake in front of the fire eating Smores, or sitting by the fit-pit on the ground-level patio attached to the hours, or just sitting on the porch while listening to the Loons on the lake. If that does not appeal to you or members of your family there are four large flat screen TVs to watch your favorite show or a pool table.
This is a great lake house rental property. Barb and Russ are wonderful people and made our stay very memorable. We very much recommend renting this house if you are interested in a lake front rental with all the amenities and comforts of home. It is definitely worth the price! Don’t miss out on this!!!
