5 BR Kingston Family Retreat
Discover Ruby Blue - your 5-bedroom modern farmhouse in the Catskills. Only 10 mins from Kingston, Saugerties, Woodstock, Rhinebeck & <2 hrs from NYC. Experience peace, quiet, and nature's beauty surrounded by state forest. Perfect for family/friends getaways near hikes, wineries, orchards & farmer's markets.
The space
The house is laid out on two floors, with the main kitchen and dining area upstairs and the secondary downstairs.
UPSTAIRS:Kitchen: The modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and gas stove has a large butcher block island with two barstools for a first-hand view of the chef at work. A long farm table with seating for up to 10 people is sure to be the center of memories made.
Living Space:There is a pretty seating area around a gas fireplace in the living space on the main floor, with two large picture windows looking out toward the forest.
MASTER ROOM: At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom featuring a king-sized bed with wood-paneled walls and an en-suite fully renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower.
OTHER ROOMS: The other two bedrooms on the main floor include one with a queen bed and another with two twin beds - this room also has a number of activities (toys/books/play kitchen/teepee) for Children. Both rooms share a fully renovated bathroom with a tub/shower.
LOWER LEVEL:The lower level includes a self-sufficient living space with another lovely and colorful living room with whimsical hand-painted palm murals. A dining table with seating for up to ten is set beside the second scaled-down kitchenette with all the accoutrements for preparing an easy meal or brewing coffee without heading upstairs.On this lower level, there is an additional two bedrooms, both queen-sized. They share a fully renovated bathroom with a dark tiled walk-in shower.
DECK AND OUTDOOR SPACESOff the upper floor, a large deck with a wonderful long wood dining table, a pair of chaise lounges, and a gas BBQ grill, all overlooking the back yard and out toward the woods, has all the makings of a super summertime hang. At ground level there is a picnic table set near an unfinished playhouse and garden. Around the side of the house is a collection of Adirondack chairs and a Solo stove campfire for creating your authentic Catskills s’mores.
There’s a huge amount to do right on your doorstep, with Kingston and all its lovely shops and eateries just 10 minutes away. The buzzing arts and music scene in Woodstock is also under 15 minutes away. And the stunningly scenic Ashokan Reservoir with its amazing rail trail is also only 12 minutes’ drive. When it comes to location, you couldn’t be in a more central place to explore the best of the Hudson Valley and Catskills.
KID FRIENDLY ACTIVITIESThe house is very close to Forsyth Nature Center with 24 animal exhibits and a dozen gardens that contain a variety of native flora local flora and fauna, Clover Brooke Farm where you can see Alpacas, Goats and other animals, the Kiwanis Ice Arena for ice skating, skiing in Hunter, Burger Hill for sledding, Kelder's Farm, among many other activities in the area.

All areas of the house can be accessed except for those doors which have numeric locks - please do not try to access those doors as they are strictly for the cleaning crew and hosts.
