Beautifully remodeled 1930s cottage in Five Points!

Welcome to the Winn Cottage! The beautifully renovated 1930s home is a 3 bedroom/2 bath located in the heart of the Five Points neighborhood of Athens, Georgia. From the cottage, both UGA and all of Five Points' shopping and eateries are only a short walk away (e.g., Sanford Stadium = 1.6 miles; Foley Baseball Field = 1 mile; and Five Points = .5 miles). Grab breakfast and coffee at the Independent Bakery or Jittery Joes, dine at Hugh Acheson's flagship restaurant, Five & Ten, or pick up a book at one of the local bookstores, Avid Books. Within a 5-minute walk, you're there.

The design and renovation were completed in 2023 by Portico & Hearth, a local historically-minded design firm. Every space in the home was brought up to today's luxurious standards while maximizing the home's historical warmth and charm. With the marble and handcrafted tiles in the bathrooms, a 36" AGA dual fuel range and built-in refrigerator in the kitchen, and various indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing and entertaining, Winn Cottage will be your oasis while staying in Athens, GA. Guests will be welcomed with snacks and drinks, and have access to AVEDA hair and body care products in addition to quality towels and linens during their stay.

Please note that the Winn Cottage has a maximum occupancy of 5 adults.

If you are interested in a longer-term stay, please contact the host directly to discuss duration, etc. prior to booking.

The property manager is local and is available to assist guests with anything they might need, from restaurant suggestions to fun close-by activities. If you need access to kid-friendly items such as a high chair or baby gate, please let the property manager know. We'd be happy to facilitate providing those items. Also, a cleaning service can be arranged to come and clean the property during your stay for an additional cleaning fee.

Please note that prior to your reservation approval, you will be required to agree to a "Guest Agreement." If any guests or invited persons on the property violate the terms of the Guest Agreement, you may be required to vacate the property immediately and forfeit any right to a refund.

Great weekend in Athens

Loved our stay at Winn Cottage! The cottage was really beautiful, super clean and well-stocked for our weekend visiting our son at UGA. The location in Five Points was ideal, and we could easily walk into Five Points for coffee and bakery goodies in the morning. Ashley was very communicative and made check-in and check-out very easy! Would absolutely stay here again and again!

Athens Charm

The vintage cottage with modernized kitchen and bathrooms was a perfect place to enjoy our weekend in Athens. Great location and property manager was so sweet to turn on the lights for us a we were arriving after dark. We will be back!

UGA Tour

We stayed here to tour UGA with daughter. Check-in process was very easy. House was extremely neat and just as advertised. The location is great and it’s extremely easy to get to campus and everywhere around Athens. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Bungalow in Five Points

This wonderful home is the best VRBO I have ever rented. Everything about the house is impeccable. Recently renovated, all the decor, appliances, finishes and linens are high end. Communication with our host was clear and timely. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Cottage in the Heart of Athens!

The cottage was more beautiful than advertised. Beautiful furnishings, finishes and linens. The owner didn't miss a detail! Great location in Five Points close to the university and dining. Owner was very responsive. Will definitely stay here again!

Great Home in a Great Location

Charming family stay in Athens

Pleasantly surprised! The Winn Cottage is where Southern and Anthropologie decorating styles married, and had a baby. I was excited for the stay based upon the photos, but you never quite know exactly what you’re walking into when you rent a VRBO. Are the photos recent, or taken at such a wide angle so that they don’t capture any of the flaws? No, this place is legit. We were greeted with lovely antiques and artwork. So many pillows, comfortable bedding. I was even happy doing laundry in this house. There was one artist’s portraits that seemed to be featured in several rooms, but I couldn’t make out the signature. I don’t know why, but this house just made me feel special and a bit pampered…even in the midst of our super busy stay in Athens. Good location, close to UGA, and a great jumping off point for our adventures in the area. Loved the home and will look to book again when we return.

Wish we had stayed longer

My husband and I are looking to retire in Athens, GA, and we wanted to check out the Five Points neighborhood. Staying at the Winn Cottage gave us a good sense as to what it would be like to live here. The house and neighborhood are quiet, but if you walk 5-10 minutes down the street, you’re in a mini-main street area. We walked and had dinner at 5&10 one of the nights. The house is one of those where you want to bring your toothbrush and clothes and never leave. Both the house and neighborhood are absolute jewels. We definitely want to come back!

Kitchen is fantastic!

I usually don't use the appliances much at a vacation rental, but I wanted to try out the AGA range--wow, beautiful and functional! The house had all of the kitchen pots/pans + utensils I needed to really cook. I went ahead and drove less than 5 minutes to Fresh Market and got everything I needed to cook a delicious meal. Winn Cottage = A++

Beauty and Peace at the Winn!

My stay at the Winn Cottage was just what I needed after helping my daughter move in this weekend. The tempurpedic mattress and the wonderful bedding was a gift after an exhausting day. In the morning, I was able to walk to grab coffee and pastries for breakfast at Independent Bakery—delicious and highly recommend. I spent the rest of the morning in the BEAUTIFUL pine room just relaxing and looking out the windows. So peaceful.
