About this property

Monadnock 4-Bedroom Charmer by Cheshire Rail Trail

About this space
This recently renovated home has modern conveniences while retaining its 1907 charm with original floors and moulding and a large covered porch. Easy commute to Keene, Swanzey, Ringe, Jaffrey, Fitzwilliam, Peterborough, or Massachusetts. Near Troy town square with market/deli, shops. Near Cheshire rail trail and other trails to Monadnock Mountain, Gap Mountain. Also near golfing, skiing, fair grounds, and berry picking farms.
The space
1 bedroom and full bath on 1st floor. 3 bedrooms on 2nd floor including a large new primary suite with full bath.
Large kitchen with dishwasher, full fridge, new range/oven, microwave, coffee maker, and serving/cooking supplies.
Separate dining and living rooms with internet and streaming TV including Prime Video, Discovery+ (without ads).
Separate office with desk and printer. 2 more desks in 2 of the bedrooms.
Back deck overlooks beautiful backyard and fire pit.
Guest access
Guests have full access to house and yards.

Parking
The driveway is long and can accommodate at least 6 cars. The town does NOT allow parking on the street in front of the house. The reason for this is that we are located on a hill, at a curve in the road. Occasionally, cars slide right into my yard when the road is slippery due to ice or snow!

Accessibility
There is a grassy slope from the driveway to the 6 porch steps, which leads to the kitchen entry door.
Other things to note
Infants and Children
We have a swing in the large backyard, and we have games and cards in the house. We have 2 benches that can each seat 3-4 children, and can be used in place of chairs. This home does not have child-proofing gadgets, gates on the stairs, or other accommodations.

Animals
As a reminder, pets are not allowed. There are nearby pet boarding facilities available. Contact B&B Pet Care in Troy, Mukota Kennels in Swanzey, or Chebaco Kennel in Swanzey. If your animal needs care, contact the Keep ‘Em Healthy Veterinary Clinic in Troy.

Longer Stays
Please inquire about longer stays, as I may be able to accommodate you.

Stay in Troy

Great experience. Well equipped. The host was quick to respond to any questions and very pleasant to work with. We had several family events for the week-end and staying here eased much of the stress of trying to keep things coordinated and running smoothly. Thank-you.

House inside was accommodating except for a few issues:

-we cook-selection of pots was poor and those there were scratch up very badly-with 3 bedrooms upstairs it should be made known that 2 need to go into the master to access it -the stairs outside the kitchen should be adjusted(stone slabs raised) to allow easier access on to the wooden stairs especially during bad weather-it was difficult because of the snow and ice-the location of the parked van made it extremely difficult to turn around so you could drive out into the street instead of backing up-we did have a good time and it was fairly centrally located between our families so we could all be together with my 91 year old mother! -the owner’s sister was most gracious in addressing the small heat issue we had at the house and that was greatly appreciated!
