A 4WD or AWD VEHICLE IS A MUST due to unpaved, steep mountain roads and the potential for high levels of snow in the spring and fall seasons. Roads leading to the cabin become very slippery and dangerous with extensive rains. If heavy rains occur during your stay, you may be required to remain in the cabin as long as the road conditions are dangerous. If heavy rains occur prior to your arrival, it could cause a delay with your check-in. Please note that there is a 10’ clearance height restriction at the entrance gate.

This home is not appropriate for people with mobility issues due to sloped, rocky walkways, uneven surfaces and stairs.

Mounted taxidermy is on the main level of the Lodge in the great room and dining area.

This Lodge is uniquely off-grid, run strictly by hydroelectric power. While it has your basic comforts (e.g. satellite internet, TV with streaming apps), it is very important to closely monitor your energy consumption by turning off all lights and unplugging devices when not in use.

Cell phone service is weak but available via WiFi calling/texting. Otherwise, a signal can be obtained 3 miles down the road near the ranch entrance or the office.

WiFi is sourced through the Starlink satellite system and can be intermittent at times so not ideal for remote work.

It is recommended that you bring your own bagged ice and drinking water with you. See details regarding the coffee maker under Additional Notes below.

PETS or ANIMALS of ANY KIND are NOT PERMITTED. The Bair Ranch is a working ranch where livestock and wild animals are abundant. There are large dogs roaming the grounds periodically herding the livestock. Bringing a domestic animal to the property could be dangerous to the livestock as well as the ranch dogs.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY. The use of tobacco, cannabis, or vapor devices is strictly prohibited.  Disregarding this Rule may result in a fine.

The Lodge does NOT have air conditioning although there are fans for your comfort. It stays fairly cool in the summer due to the higher elevation.

This Lodge has only one full bathroom with a shower, important to note for larger groups.

Travel Protection: We HIGHLY recommend purchasing our trip cancellation insurance as there are NO REFUNDS if canceled within 7 days of arrival, regardless of the reason (including illness, flight delays, weather, road conditions, etc.). Protect your vacation with RentalGuardian in case of cancellations, emergencies, and more.  Specifics will be provided in your confirmation email so you can get started and travel with peace of mind.

Included in the price of your rental is an Administrative Fee of $59. This non-refundable damage protection insurance policy, in lieu of a damage deposit, is required protection insurance provided by Waivo for up to $2,500 in accidental damage. The full agreement and list of coverage details can be found in the Additional Rules section on the checkout page.

Family Getaway

The cabin was wonderful. When I asked for remote, they were not kidding! This cabin is located approximatley 2 miles into the canyon on roads that are steep graded, dirt and have hairpin turns. We originally rented an car but glad we upgraded to an AWD vehicle. The decor reminded me of the series "Yellowstone" with generational pictures hanging from the walls. The kitchen mugs were straight from grandma's cupboard. Cute mismatched plates, mixing bowls, pots and pans. We had a couple hickups but nothing that was not resolved quickly. I'm used to paying for elegance and amenities. I think it's important to know, you are paying for the beautiful remoteness of this property. It would be a good fit for people looking to stay close to the area. The hot tub was non-operational and there was no bbq grill but there was an outdoor Blackstone. We cooked breakfast and dinner on that several times. The pond had a lot of life in it. We sat in the morning for quite a while watching several Axolotl. Our 10 year old grandson was loving it! While we were there, we participated in the Chuckwagon dinner. It was a lot of fun and the steak was as big as the plate. The woman and her husband were such skilled musicians and it was so nice to sit and listen to them. My daughter-in-law and son went horseback riding on the property. My daughter-in-law, who is a skilled horseback rider, said it was a beautiful ride through the canyon and she enjoyed it thouroughly. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Bair ranch

Had a good stay with my family. Very senic and remote location. Four wheel drive vehicle is a must have. My daughters really liked riding the horse on the ranch.
