About this property
Incredible mountain views, off grid cottage sleeps 4
Welcome to the incomparable North Cascades! Leave all your anxiety in the city to relax into a simple peaceful cabin in the mountains.
This off grid cottage features a full kitchen with a propane fridge for your meal planning and a full sized stove and oven. Razorback Mountain stuns in the distance while you enjoy the deck at this semi-private. Keep your eyes open for our resident Bald Eagles, yellow bellied sapsuckers and pileated woodpeckers.
The twin bed in the first bedroom is a secret king sized trundle! An easy pull out for a big bed or keep it tucked away for a single sleeper.
Off grid means no electricity and no wifi. While the cabin is well lit with battery operated lighting, there is no option for charging devices. All your kitchen appliances and heater are fueled by propane and require no electricity.
Take a break from the furious pace of life and slow down to the speed of Marblemount. Bring your s'more supplies to cook over the fire pit or just enjoy the evening sitting around the fire gazing at the stars.

Beautiful old cabin where you can unplug and hike!! Communication was awesome and check in was easy, the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. We were unaware that the cabin had no electricity but it was equipped battery operated bulbs - which there are extra on the desk drawer! Truly a good weekend which the location allowed us to be close to trail heads!
We are pretty sure this would have been an epic adventure for us. However, we needed to cancel our trip due to Covid illness. Sarah is a very accommodating and gracious host. We are hoping to book this again in the near future. Sarah, we hope you’re feeling better as well.
Cabin location was great. Perfect access to North Cascades. Property was accurately described. We are used to boondocking in our camper without power, so this was totally fine for us. No cell service on either Verizon or T-Mobile, but honestly that’s a plus. Hot water heater was excellent, all propane appliances worked great, some of the battery powered lights were not charged but most were which was great. Overall no complaints, would be happy to stay again.
Just what I expected for being off-grid with no solar power. At least you get a hot shower and can cook a hot meal with the propane stove setup. A cooler full of ice was still needed for a three night stay to keep the food from spoiling. Expected it to be quieter, but you can hear the cars zip on by during the day on the road behind the property. The white noise of the river was soothing and our dog Rose was grateful there were no fireworks to stress over on the 4th. Great home base to explore the North Cascades.

Off grid pros and cons
Liked location and isolation. Propane heated water and house quickly. Lighting was awful. There were single bulb battery operated fixtures on the wall that did not illuminate seating areas and only provided light immediately below the bulb- so there was no where to be able to read. We replaced 4 bulbs during our short stay. Bulbs were turned on by small switch above bulb that was hard to access. Lighting was totally inadequate. Initial communication with host was good, however upon arriving, lock box with access keys and card was broken and would not open. We did not have a phone number for the host and had to get her number from a storekeeper.
