Adorable cottage

We rented the cottage for the Southampton half marathon. It was the perfect place to stay. The house is adorable and clean. The perfect amount of space for 3-4 people. The atmosphere is very relaxing and tranquil yet very close to the main town of Southampton. About a 10 minutes drive to everything. We also visited the wineries in Bridgehampton which are a must and about 15 minutes away. Coopers beach is very close and beautiful. I highly recommend staying here. Richard was delightful to work with. We will be back.

Hidden gem

Wonderful cottage, wonderful host. Everything needed to feel right at home. Big Fresh Pond is a pristine lake, close enough to everything but right off the beaten track. Nature, privacy, and the sweetness and simplicity of the surroundings, nature at your doorstep, with creature comforts all covered at the house. Wonderful outdoor shower. Never bothered with the one inside. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back.

Very cute house with amazing views

We had a lovely time at this house. The house is very clean and renovated. The views in the living room are amazing! Our dog enjoyed looking out the window and barking at squirrels. The wifi was fast and worked great. We couldn't figure out the cable but I think that's on us. It's close to town and the beaches. It's very quiet and calm and a nice getaway from the city.

Great home on a peaceful lake

We loved our time here. The pictures did not do it justice!! Great layout for 2-4 people. Great views of lake from den. Beds were comfortable and bath was good for the 2 bedrooms. Very good location with deli/general store within walking distance and Southampton and all it's shops and restaurants a 5 minute drive away. Highly recommend this home!!!

Lovely! Needs a Bridal Shower!

We came in to escape the city with our 2 adult daughters for Labor Day! Serene setting. The home is clean, nice furnishings, granite in kitchen, new bathroom. It is a lake view versus lake front - there is a house in front off to the right and a shed to the left, but you can still see the lake off at an angle. We couldn't get the WIFI to work, so Richard sent someone to fix it Friday evening. We never did get the cable to work, which was only an issue as that was the weekend the hurricane was expected to hit Long Island, and we wanted to see the weather. We planned to grill dinner Friday night , after exploring some vineyards. We checked before we left, and the propane tank was empty and there wasn't a spare in the shed as listed. We filled the tank, had texted Richard, and he had a replacement tank there by the time we returned. He re-imbursed us the $30 we spent. The one kayak that was on the beach was old, dirty and filled with water. They brought us 2 additional ones by morning, but both of those had water in the hull and needed to be drained before use. It was a lovely kayak trip around the quiet lake! The 2 bikes in the shed were old school and covered in leaves and cob webs. They brought us 2 updated bikes, which provided for a great bike ride into town. The kitchen supplies were very basic - hence the reason for needing a "bridal shower" to refresh the supplies. The plates/bowls were all mis matched. No platters or cutting board. Random bath towels. No napkins. Ran out of toilet paper. Richard was very responsive to our needs, but it we wanted to simply relax, and not be texting him for basic things or run out to the store for toilet paper. It was a super fun weekend and a lovely home, but just needed some re-stocking. Be clear ahead of time if you plan to grill, want better kayaks and bikes. Despite our issues, we would rent it again.

Perfect getaway

We just stayed at this adorable cottage in Southampton. The cottage was clean and everything in the house worked perfectly. This cottage was such a perfect mix of lake life and hamptons. I definitely recommend and we can't wait to go back!

Clean, Quiet and Convenient

This cottage was terrific for our family. We really enjoyed the easy access to the lake, town and Atlantic beaches. Richard was very accommodating and I highly recommend this property. It was clean, well- kept and very close to everything. We would like to go back at some point.

Comfortable Retreat

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The house is clean and cozy and you can't beat the convenient proximity to Southampton. The owner and caretaker were very gracious hosts.

Perfect family escape

Perfect week in the Hamptons with the kids. Place was just as described, modern and clean. Kitchen well equipped with a BBQ out back. Kids loved exploring the lake by kayak. Evenings are quiet. Fantastic star gazing. The host even lent us his telescope and we were able to see the rings of Saturn! Wife and I enjoyed walking over to the local bar with great food just up the road. Highly recommended.

Absolutely magical!

We found our new favorite place! The cottage is simply charming and the grounds are magical situated looking out over gorgeous waters and nestled in the woods. You feel like you are really away from it all yet you're in Southampton and near all the fun spots to visit. We will be back!! It's too wonderful not to come again. Thank you Richard for a marvelous stay and for being so helpful!

Stay here when in Southampton

We second the comments in the other reviews. The cottage is just as advertised, the views of the pond are fantastic. Very peaceful. The Hamptons offer very few options for hotel stay and all are at the Days Inn level (despite the pricetag!). Richard has an amazing property, very close to the village and just 10 minutes away from Coopers Beach. Highly recommend it!

Wonderful...

This was our third stay at a HomeAway property in the USA in 4 weeks and much the most enjoyable. The cottage is delightful, newly renovated (AC) and with stunning views it offered us everything we wanted. The location is perfect. Although only a few hundred yards from the main road (and a couple of useful food stores) it's utterly peaceful. We loved going to sleep with the windows up (but the screens on) listening to the night sounds from the lake and forest. Swimming and kayaking in the beautiful lake were wonderful as was watching the sunset. We could not recommend a property more warmly.

Beautiful, relaxing, lake cottage

The property was fantastic! It was just as described in the ad! But best of all, Richard was so accommodating to all of our million questions! If we lived closer we would go back all of the time!

Charming and tranquil!!!

This was the perfect get away. The vista was amazing and I felt as if I had taken my first breaths in weeks. A swim in the lake and a long sleep in the hammock was the cure all for everything. I couldn't even imagine this was the Hamptons I knew. The cottage was charming and though small, it made everything more manageable for a weekend getaway. It was tastefully decorated and had all the basics we needed. We could actually walk down the road to two great delis--one very local in feel and another with great fish that we grilled on the BBQ. The hostess that checked on us was so lovely and gracious, we felt as if we were special guests in a dear friends home. We didn't want to leave but know we will be back before the summer is out and maybe even visit in the fall.

Like being at the lake and beach at the same time

Very relaxing. Beautiful setting, best of both worlds. The beach is close, as is the town of South Hampton, but the lake without power boats really gets you away from it all. The house was great, clean, and modern. The owner was easy to work with. All in all a great place to stay, we will be coming back.

Beautiful weekend

Amazing setting. The minute we got there we started relaxing. The perfect place to be in the Hampton, all the Hamptons is 5 minutes away, or you can avoid it all at the pond.

Best in the Hamptons

What a place, better than I could have ever expected. The landlord was super nice and went out of his way to help us. The house is like brand new and the lake and area is incredible, so close to the center of South Hampton and beaches, but I did think I was in the Adirondacks.
