About this property

"Little Red House" eclectic 3BR, walk to downtown State College! Pet Friendly!

Enjoy serenity - close enough to walk downtown State College and to football games, but quiet enough away from frat row! The spacious Little Red House is exceptionally roomy - the 3BR can house 10 people, with amazing deck. Linens, towels, toiletries, snacks included, even pet treats!

Our bright and airy 3 bedroom has one large main bedroom with a queen bed, bedroom 2 has a full bed, and bedroom 3 has two twin beds - perfect for a group or family. Additional sleeping area in the living room (pull out bed). We also have an air mattress with linens if needed. Total sleeping capacity is ~10 with air mattress. The modern living room is bright and spacious, with flatscreen TV, soundbar, and Roku / AppleTV for access to movies and more. The house also has two Alexa devices you can call on for music around the house. You can even hang out in our new bicycle-themed wine nook!

Kitchen is modern with air fryer, espresso machine and Keurig, and Berkey ultra water filter (yes, that's not a big silver coffee maker). The kitchen is open to the dining room, with a countertop bar in between.

Housed among the quiet west side of historic Highlands district on the southeast side of State College, you will be walking distance to downtown Target, coffee shops, restaurants and other shopping. One street further south is a wonderful plaza with fitness center, beer & liquor stores, european food store, pizza and wing shops, and Good Day Cafe coffee shop employing adults with disabilities.

The second bedroom also has a space for remote working - desk, chair, printer, monitor - great, bright space to engage with work (if you must!).

We have a long driveway, so 4-5 cars can fit easily. We are pet-friendly but please be respectful of our space and try not to allow them on beds if possible, we love our furry friends but try to keep a clean space. We have dog treats and food available if you need it! This is our primary residence, so there will be some personal items around, but we've carved space for you with empty drawers, fridge space, cabinet space, and other amenities. We hope you enjoy our home!

We are local to the area! One of us grew up in State College, the other moved around a bit and ended up back in Happy Valley. We are both alumni of Penn State, and have 7 (mostly) grown kids and two dogs. We love this area!

Why they chose this property

All of State College is fabulous - the shops, food, culture, fairs, and of course football and the university! Our neighborhood is positioned in a great location - walking distance to downtown but out of the "busy" area and away from frat row, so there's virtually no night-time noise. Plus there's tennis courts and baseball fields on the next block - grounds of the State College high school but useable to the public. Bring your rackets!

What makes this property unique

Our "little red house" is elusively larger on the inside! Three bedrooms, a big living room, and amazing deck - a perfect retreat for visiting State College!
