About this property

Lexington, Kentucky - Elmcrest Farm 3B/3B Home - Opt. 1B/1B Separate Apt.

Ideally located close to the Bourbon Trail, Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park, this country estate provides easy access to the best of Kentucky. It is also convenient to events in Lexington, with a 7 mile drive to Rupp Arena, and offers scenic drives along picturesque scenic byways, including Old Frankfort Pike and Pisgah Pike. Whether you are here for the history, the bourbon, the horses, or a UK game, you will be perfectly situated to enjoy it all.

Experience the perfect blend of history and modern luxury at our beautifully restored country estate built in 1797 and set on 140 acres of serene countryside. After sitting vacant for 30 years, our family undertook an extensive restoration and expansion, completing the project just in time for the home’s 225th anniversary.

The original house, with its well-preserved wide plank ash floors and large Italianate windows, remains a testament to its time, while the new 1,500 square foot addition and three-car garage with a full-size apartment above provide a nod to the future. Despite historic roots, the home is equipped with all the modern amenities, including Wi-Fi, smart TVs and spacious and comfortable living spaces with new furnishings.

Kitchen: The home features a state-of the art kitchen with a large refrigerator, separate beverage refrigerator, six (6) burner dual fuel range with griddle, and enormous island. There is a mudroom and laundry room off the kitchen with large-capacity washer and dryer and boot wash area. There is also a convenient powder room.

Bedrooms: The main house features three (3) bedrooms, combining antique charm with modern comfort. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom is on the main floor and is especially large with a king sized bed, a walk-in shower, standalone soaking tub, double vanity, toilet closet and walk in closet. The second and third bedrooms are upstairs. Both include queen sized beds and ensuite full baths. One has a tub/shower and the other a shower only.

Living Spaces/Dining Room: There are two (2) living spaces – a library/sitting room and a living room. The library/sitting room is a great spot for reading a book, chatting, or a before dinner drink. The living room is spacious and comfortably seats eight (8) for watching a game or just hanging out. The dining room is steps away from the kitchen and seats ten.

The property spans 140 acres of rolling hills, wooded areas and open fields perfect for hiking, exploring or simply enjoying the tranquil environment. This estate is perfect for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a luxurious yet authentic getaway. The combination of the historic smokehouse, modern addition, and garage apartment provides a truly unique experience for larger groups or multi-generational families.

Guests have full access to the main house and the surrounding 140 acres. The garage apartment can be rented separately at https://www.vrbo.com/3585939. The garage apartment affords a large bedroom and bath, great room with full kitchen, powder room and a queen sleeper sofa for extra guests. Whether you are exploring the land or relaxing with friends in the comfortable surrounds of the home, the estate offers a unique and private experience.
