About this property
Iconic, sunny, open-plan condo in heart of Oakland<br>
Within the bustling Uptown Oakland district, and above 19th St BART (3 mins to platform & 15 mins to SF) this condo is perfectly located for anyone looking to explore Oakland and the Bay Area!
Lots of stylish touches and convenience (500 MBPS wifi, two desks + kitchen island, garage parking) make this great spot to base yourself.
Lots of great restaurants, cafes, gyms (incl. climbing wall), amenities etc. nearby, Lake Merritt (great for walking/running) is ~7 mins walk away.
The space
Entry hall lined with bookcases. First full bath w tub shower off the hall. Also off the hall is primary bedroom (king), work station, with ample closets, private full bath w tub shower. Open concept fully equipped kitchen, dining counter and comfy, stylish living room with window wall. Second bedroom (queen) off of living w sliding door, work station, closet and window wall.
Guest access
Street entry(fob) with lobby with no stair steps to elevator. Also entry from dedicated indoor garage parking spot with 4 stair steps to elevator. Shared courtyard in hall off of apartment.
Other things to note
Oakland is a vibrant urban area with lively street life-Fox Theater, Restaurants and Nightclubs-there is street noise. We do provide sound machines in each bedroom. Also the building is not air conditioned as are most places in the Bay-the fog is our natural air-one hot days open windows, shades and fans provide relief.

About the host
Hosted by trish mcdermott

Hi and welcome! I am Mom of three almost grown kids and a designer/project manager. Love to spend time at the beach and doing art.
Why they chose this property
Once a shopping district in the early 20th century, Uptown is the hottest neighborhood in Oakland. A new restaurant, indie boutique, or bar seemingly opens every other week, with nearly 125 opened in the past decade. Billed as the arts and entertainment district of Oakland, it fulfills its promise, particularly during the boisterous Art Murmur on First Fridays. But the prettiest art may be the Art Deco buildings themselves, with the crown jewels being the show stopping Fox and the Paramount theaters. The former is mostly a live music venue; the latter channels its inner flapper often (classic movies with a live organ player). Art galleries, run by the artists or by volunteers, are opening in brick warehouses. Down side streets are scenes of the start-up, DIY revolution with co-ops, an urban winery, entrepreneur hubs, and creative centers.
