About this property

NEW!! The Zen Cottage - PonoMana Oasis

Welcome to PonoMana Oasis. A perfect and secluded destination if you are coming to Hawaii for a personal retreat, vacation or much-needed rejuvenation.

Our eco-friendly oasis is within minutes of some of the island’s best waters to swim and see whales, dolphins, turtles, and many other amazing marine life.

Here at PonoMana Oasis, the Zen Cottage is an ideal place to relax, nurture and experience the true mana of the island and Aloha Spirit.

PonoMana Oasis is nestled above the sacred Kealakesua Bay vortex.

The lush 5 acres of PonoMana Oasis is a private residence and a magical place to experience the Aloha Spirit and connect with the powerful and nurturing nature of Hawaii. The host lives on the property but you will most likely have the Aloha experience that you have the whole place to yourself.

At 950ft feet elevation, you will come to understand why it truly is the ‘perfect elevation’. Not too hot/dry, which it can be in Kona and closer down to the water you get. And it is not too cloudy/rainy, which is common the higher up the mountain you go.

Wake up refreshed every morning, immersed in a gentle symphony of bird songs. Enjoy your morning meditation, yoga or fresh PonoMana's Sacred Sip coffee on your private lanai.

Our Zen Cottage is the largest of our three cottages. It is serene, spacious and well-equipped for your comfort. It is perfect for a personal and transformational self-retreat or romantic getaway.

When you step out on your own private lanai and feel the breezes, you will experience what a perfect setting PonoMana Oasis is to support the type of rejuvenation many seek when coming to the Big Island.

Our private 5-acres is a sacred, eco-friendly (chemical/toxin free) private property well protected by storms the sacred pali (hillside) where ancient Hawaiian Kings and Queens are buried and Mauna Loa.

PonoMana Oasis is in direct alignment of the powerful energy lines and vortex where the Earth manifests strong healing and guiding energies. Ancient Hawaiians used these Earth energies as part of their own religious and spiritual quests. These same energies are equally available to us today if we respect, align and honor them. These earth energies that permeate our Sanctuary may aid in indescribable transformations.

Visit our website for more about this amazing energy alignment of our oasis at PonoMana Oasis.

Zen Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the Zen Cottage. The property is conveniently located for visiting all areas of the island. It was very clean, quiet, well maintained and exactly as pictured. Megan responded promptly to any questions that I had.

Great stay!

My partner and I were here a little under two weeks. The pictures are incredibly accurate and the view from the lanai was even more picturesque than expected. The highlight here was the energy. It was palpable and expensive. Present and peaceful. This is definitely a place that will enhance your spiritual practice. The property manager was friendly and responsive. The coffee was the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely stay again

Zen Retreat

This wonderful Zen cottage was perfect for my personal Zen retreat and deepening my spiritual practice. The powerful energy of the area was quite apparent and beneficial for healing and strengthening ones growth process. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with windows on all sides for great breezes. It had a marvelous little balcony and ocean view. I loved it!

very nice but one serious flaw

I loved the vibe of this place, and it's so close to the hike down to Captain Cook for great snorkeling. It's lovely being in the trees, and the insects at night put on a big Symphony of sounds for hours. For me, the fatal flaw was that all the linens were laundered in a heavily scented product(s). The owner's policy says that they do not use them, so I wonder if a different cleaning company was just hired who didn't know what to use, and inadvertantly used scented stuff. I don't know, but I had a pretty horrible sinus reaction which built up getting worse over several days, and of course, tempered the whole vacation. That is a mistake that I trust they will "clean up", and never let that happen again to those of us who are chemically sensitive.

Why they chose this property

ALOHA! I am so excited to share Hawaii with you!

When you arrive at PonoMana Oasis with pono*, you will experience an embrace of warmth and a sense of peace and comfort. Take time to sit quietly on the lanai and just breathe. You are now connected to the mana* that permeates this island.

You will notice a state of gentle happiness, aloha, kindness, compassion, and honor toward everything that surrounds you. You will witness within yourself a sense of harmony. This experience is a gift to you from the ancient guardians that reside here at PonoMana Oasis. This is a gift, so please receive it fully, make it part of your daily life, and share it with others.

* pono - a term used to define a state of living with good intention, honor, grace, morally kind, respect

* mana - a term used to describe a spiritual force or energy.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
PonoMana Oasis is truly a sacred place and the mana is very powerful here. Our Oasis is designed to be an Aloha-Zen-like environment. The natural and peaceful surroundings provide a calm, quiet, safe haven while exploring the island or for those seeking a spiritual or health-related personal retreat.

The most common feedback we get from guests staying at our Oasis is that as soon as they arrive, our ‘immersed in Mother Nature’ environment allows them to breathe easier and relax quickly.
