This cozy year round private cabin is located on beautiful and peaceful Bony Lake in Barnes, WI with views of the lake from every window. The cabin is privately set on several acres on a large shallow sandbar. The lot has two water accesses (2 docks) with over 1,000 feet of water frontage; with a shallow sandbar and a deeper swimming area. There are plenty of toys, activities, and fun spaces to keep smiles on guests of all ages.
Bony Lake has amazing fishing! Come try your luck and catch Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Muskeye, and/or Walleye.
The cabin sleeps up to 6 people. (but plenty of room to pitch a tent) The cabin’s features include: high speed internet, wood burning stove, full bathroom, dishwasher, washer and dryer, TV, expansive deck, and creative outdoor spaces which include play spaces for children and hammocks to relax in. Just across the dirt road, there are several acres of private nature paths you can explore. And just in case you forgot an essential or are craving ice cream, Jim’s Bait Shop is an easy walk away.
Cabin Space:
- Bedroom 1: Queen bed and desk area. Views of Bony Lake.
- Bedroom 2: Queen bed and twin bunk bed. Beautiful views of Bony Lake & firepit.
- Bathroom 1: Tub/shower
- Bathroom 2: Seasonal between June- Sept: shower
- Kitchen: Dishwasher, microwave and large island.
- Dining: Large table that can fit at least 6 people for card games and meals.
- Living: Large comfortable sectional for cuddling up to fire, reading a book, and/or watching a movie. (TV has Roku so you can log into your streaming services) Plenty of board games for a rainy day.
- The living space is all on one level with the exception of the washer and dryer which is in the basement.
- Garage: During warmer months it can be used as a game room with foosball, darts and a place to put your beverages in the garage refrigerator.
Bony Lake:
- Over 200 acres of spring fed water with a river access to Middle Eau Claire Lake which has over 1,000 acres.
- Has a sandy bottom and is 60 feet deep in the middle.
- Over 1,000’ of shoreline with 2 water accesses:
- Access 1: Walk a fun boardwalk out to the sandbar where neighboring boats may anchor for a dip in the water. (1- 3’ deep for over 100 feet on the sand point)
- Access 2: About 5' deep at the end of the dock but has a nice gradual increase in depth where you can swim to the diving dock.
- Sand beach for the sand castle builders and shallow beach.
- Large dock with space to tie off your own boat.
- Public boat launch is on connecting lake (Middle Eau Claire)
- Party pontoon for extra space to sit and or play at the end of the dock.
- Great fishing including Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Muskeye, and Walleye.

Winter activities are also a highlight of this cabin!! Barnes has a public skating rink with lights and a warming house if Bony is not skateable. Snowmobile trails are in the area. Cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and snowshoeing are also enjoyable activities on the frozen tundra! After a short 60- minute drive, you can find yourself at one of the region’s best downhill ski area – Spirit Mountain.
