Father and adult sons get away

My two adult sons and son-in-law, and I stayed at this beautiful location where fly fishing, hiking, rest and relaxation were our top priorities. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. There was no need to leave the property to find something to do or just to rest and relax, however Multiple options for outdoor entertainment were within a very short drive distance from this location. The owner John is wonderful and a great host.

Majestic getaway

The property was amazing! It felt like a fairytale with the secluded beautiful cabin in the woods, majestic lighting , and the soothing sound of the creek. Our family enjoyed hiking the trails, plunging into the cold pond, and relaxing in the sauna. The host made sure we had everything we needed. I didn’t want to leave and I can’t wait to go back next year.

Colorado Gem

Kelly's property is a slice of Colorado heaven. We found what we were looking for: a clean, safe, quiet place of beauty to relax and be inspired. The property contains many hidden treasures and your host makes you feel welcomed and secure. The trail along the stream is a revelation and the sauna and "water house" are gifts to all who value rejuvenation as part of a vacation. New Castle has good groceries and several decent restaurants so consider keeping your driving to a minimum in order to take in the full experience of the mountains and the sanctuary that Kelly's lovingly created here. One caveat about staying in the bunkhouse would be to make sure your party can navigate steep steps as there were three of them that connected the main entry-level sleeping area to the kitchen and bathroom and we were thinking that it was good to have reliable knees and hips among us for the 3 days we stayed. If you're fit enough to hike, you'll be just fine. We've visited the area many times due to having family here and can say this is a singular spot that we'll make a point to return to regularly. Thanks for everything Kelly!

Magical Winter Getaway in the Mountains

The End of the Road Ranch (aptly named) is at the very end of a County Road along a Creek in the mountains - backing up against a beautiful national forest. It is an absolutely stunning! If you're looking for a well-appointed, comfortable getaway in nature where everything is taken care of - this is the place. Beautiful horses, outdoor fires, an amazing sauna, and beautiful night skies with millions of stars. We were there with our two teenage children for 5 nights over New Years and used it a base for skiing at Sunlight Mountain which is about 45 minutes away by car. We also spent some time there relaxing and exploring nearby towns (New Castle, Glenwood Springs, Rifle - and the Rifle Falls National Park). There is great hiking in the National Park (and all around). John Kelly (aka Kelly) is a fantastic host (along with his friendly dog Paddy) and great fun to talk to. His photography (which is an entire impressive story in itself) decorates each building in the ranch and there are interesting pieces with great stories everywhere you look. It was a great pleasure to meet him and to stay at the Ranch in the Bunkhouse / Water House. We'll definitely be back and recommend it wholeheartedly! The Doughtys

Our stay in New Castle, Colorado, was absolutely magical! Kelly, the host, was incredibly communicative and such a cool guy—we really enjoyed chatting with him. The property was breathtaking, and our kids were thrilled to wake up each morning to see horses and wild turkeys right outside the window. The beds were super comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly the water got hot in the remote bunkhouse. Kelly’s photography displayed throughout the house was stunning and added a personal touch to the space. He even made special arrangements for our partially paralyzed dog, which meant the world to us. This place was perfect for our family, two young kids, and our dog. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway!
