About this property

La Grande Bergerie ⭐️⭐️⭐️,Contemporary And Charming Home In The Heart Of Luberon

Welcome to La Grande Bergerie.
Our design vacation home is tucked on the side of a quiet little hamlet, nearby the village of St-Saturnin-lès-Apt. Once a shepherd's stone house and barn renovated with love into a contemporary and authentic family home.
6 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms over 3 stories, private pool (open from early May to late September), ideal for 2 to 3 families, up to 12 guests. Note that the house is on 3 floors, with steep staircases and very little railing.

THE HOUSE

The house main living space is on the second floor. You enter into a voluminous space of 650 sq ft featuring the living room with wood burning fireplace, a dining area opening to the private terrace and an open floor kitchen. The kitchen has a central island, a large 6 burners range, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave.

On this same floor is an entertainment room with TV/DVD and sofa, a guest bathroom and a large master bedroom (king bed) with a claw foot tub and a private vanity.

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms (one with a queen bed and two with double twins) that share a bathroom with shower.

Downstairs, you will find a family suite consisting of 2 bedrooms (one queen bed, two twins) and 2 separate bathrooms, with its own 'salon' and fireplace that opens directly to the garden.

Wifi is available in the entire house. In addition, you will find a Bluetooth 'jambox' speaker in every adult bedroom to play your favorite music.

THE GARDEN

The garden (13000 sq ft) opens up to vineyards and truffle oak trees rolling hills. A lawn and centennial olive tree greet you by the pool, where you can sunbathe or play ball. When lunch time approaches, harvest a hand full of aromatic herbs from the Provencal quaint squared garden.

The pool is open from early May to late September, and measures 30 x 12ft, with a side children's wading pool on one end.

A pool side summer kitchen with gas plancha awaits your warm dinners with friends and family under the shade of the pergola.

Parking on the property for 3-4 cars is available and secured by an automated gate.

We had a truly wonderful stay at La Grande Bergerie. The property and garden were both incredible and the location was perfect. We had everything we could have wanted and both Sandrine and her property manager, Gregory, were superb and very responsive. I’d highly recommend!

Wonderful Vacation
We had a wonderful vacation at La Grande Bergerie. The house is beautiful, functional, and well-stocked for travelers who like to cook and relax. The location is also perfect. We loved the nearby town of St Saturnin Les Apts. It is a beautiful town with all of the necessities minus tourists. And a bonus is that it it within walking or riding (on the house-provided bikes) distance. We had a wonderful dinner at L'Estrade, and bought fresh eggs, produce, charcuterie, and pastries daily at the local shops. There are also many hiking trails that explore among other things the the old ruins above town. The booking process was smooth and the owners were helpful and prompt in responding. I would highly recommend a vacation at La Grande Bergerie.

Beautiful stay at La Grande Bergerie!
We had a wonderful 10 day stay at La Grande Bergerie! The pictures and descriptions given were accurate and as advertised. In addition the place was clean and very well maintained. This old farmhouse has been redesigned very tastefully. We were a group of 8 adults and 4 children. It was very spacious with many living rooms and ample outdoor space. The kitchen was well stocked, many plates and glasses, and all the necessary cooking utensils and pots and pans. We could have used some proper wine glasses but that's me just being picky. The owner was very helpful throughout the whole booking process and gave some excellent suggestions on their website about things to do in the area, including lunch at L'Estrade, an excellent restaurant in the nearby town of Saint Saturnin-Les-Apts. It was about a 20 minute walk to town. Saint Saturnin Les Apts is a small, quiet town, with less tourists, which was ok with us. There is a good butcher shop, a decent bakery, a good restaurant (L'Estrade), and the old ruins above town are worth walking to. I would highly recommend La Grande Bergerie!

A perfect vacation in Provence!
This is an ideal vacation spot. The location is great, a short walk to town passed cherry orchards for croissants in the morning. Easy day trips to visit the many beautiful towns and open air markets. We also went on several great hikes so when you don't want to spend time in the car there are plenty of alternatives. We had dinner most nights at the outside kitchen with a view of the rolling hills, truffle oak tree grove and watched the sunset. During the day the kids loved the pool and garden and the adults loved all the reading nooks. There are plenty of cozy communal places or the bedrooms are spacious, well appointed and quiet when you want to get away. I highly recommend this place. The owners were attentive, the house was charming, spotless and the location can't be beat. We were two families sharing the house and we felt like we could have easily fit another family.

Perfect Getaway
La Grande Bergerie is the quintessential Provence experience. I had such a wonderful and comfortable time there! The location is great: private and secluded, but not too far from a small town where you can get the essentials like baguettes and pastries. The place is tastefully designed, with plenty of room to lounge and chill out. The kitchen with the harvest dining table and authentic designer furniture were simply beautiful. The pool is a wonderful addition, as well as the lounge chairs nearby. There are even bikes for you to take out and roam around the neighborhood. I highly recommend your visit to this heaven on earth!

I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay!
We knew this place was going to be special because we had seen pictures. We had no idea it would be THIS special, though! Wow! We were two families of three, including two kids, ages 8 and 10. All of us were completely comfortable, with bedrooms to spare. We could have had another family and still had plenty of room. The house is gorgeously decorated, with lots of lovely accents: really snuggly throw rugs, nice carpets on the floors, comfortable and beautiful furniture. The owners have an excellent eye for details. We spent most of our time outside, either by the pool or at the outdoor table. It was perfection. The surrounding area is stunning. My favorite part of the day was my morning walk into St Saturnine for croissants. One day, we walked the other way and went for a fantastic hike. Most days, we were able to drive a short distance to some amazing little town to visit the market or just to wander the streets. I highly recommend this place. I can't imagine a more perfect rental house is Provence. It was clean, the hosts were attentive, the house was comfortable and beautiful, and there was lots and lots to do. I'm ready to go back!
