Was left stranded
Never got to stay there. Was locked out. Manager could not be contacted by neither me nor VRBO. VRBO had to refund the money (I paid in full in advance). I was stranded and had to find a place to stay on my own, at 9pm. VRBO tried to find a substitute place to stay but was unsuccessful. VRBO offered to pay for 2 nights wherever I could find but there was a dollar limit and the reimbursement process was too much of a hassle so I covered the expense on my own. I found a hotel to stay at the first night and VRBO said they would call me the next day after they found a substitute place to stay. They never called. I called them around 3 pm to see if they found a place to stay. I was driving around in a rental car at the time and wondering where I would stay the second night. They still didn't have a place. I am unsure if they even tried. I expressed my discontent with their services. I asked to speak with a manager. After being put on hold for a long time (almost running out my cell phone battery), another person came on the phone. I was cursing after she repeated the hassle of the reimbursement process including me sending them a copy of my driver's license and my bank statement and proof I paid for the hotel. She threatened to hang up on me. So I was still stranded. She was unhelpful. I said just reimburse what I paid them already and she said no, it had to be investigated first. I asked her what the hell has to be investigated? Last time I book thru VRBO.
