EXCLUSIVE FAMILY COMPOUND. Lake house and 2 cabins on pristine lake

EXCLUSIVE FAMILY COMPOUND ON PRISTINE LAKE, LAKE HOUSE AND TWO CABINS ON 100 ACRES

63 Christina's Way/Mazella Lane!

The hand painted sign saying Well Fed Farm will cue you to the turn onto Christina's Way/Mazella Lane. You will then see the sweet white shingled garden shed. As you meander down the winding half mile path that will enfold and welcome you, we imagine you will anticipate the house and environs you have chosen for your family vacation, reunion, celebration, wedding or romantic week for two. The compound is a secluded respite from the world and you do not need to leave "Camp" other than for supplies. ( **in our welcome book we provide new information for all the amazing restaurants and local farms. Our caretaker can stock the house for you. Within few steps you will be able to swim, boat, sail, kayak, paddle board, lounge, read, hammock, campfires, outdoor swings and playground, a closet filled with board games, fish, meditate, yoga and more.
Built in 2007 our luxurious lakeside camp consists of a magnificent hand made adirondack style cedar shingle home and two cozy cabins. Privacy for all. You will enter the main house onto an 1,200sq/ft screened in porch with an outdoor stone fire place, pingpong, handcrafted pine harvest table that seats fourteen. French doors afford access into every room and can be left open to feel the Maine breezes. The great room in the center of the house boasts a magnificent indoor stone fireplace, multiple couches and handcrafted game table. For the chef in you the large chef’s kitchen fully appointed with huge 60" Wolf griddle top to make loads of pancakes, a double oven for baking and it is brand new 2017! , We have just added a new 42" new Sub Zero refrigerator for all your beautiful Maine produce! An original Monson slate farm troth sink will bring smiles as you and your family or friends create meals overlooking the lake and listening to the loons. Behind the kitchen is our Herb Garden and a grassy lawn for the children to run around on. Each bedroom has its own private bath each decorated in a different style. Each bedroom and cabin has a private screened porch with lake views. The furniture throughout the house was handmade by local carpenters and artisans.

The Bunk House Cabin and Loft Cabin each consist of their own screened in porch, propane gas fireplace, kitchenette, sitting area, full bath and views of the lake. The Loft House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom and Loft upstairs with twin beds. The Love Bunk House Cabin has a Queen Bedroom (magnificent views of the lake) and a Bunk Bedded room with X large Bunk beds).

The property sits on 100 private wooded acres and 3,000 ft of water frontage, ripe for exploring. The lake has only five families and much of the time you will have the lake to yourself...it is rare and magical. Sunsets and breezes and quiet...The grounds boast hidden hammocks to swing on and sway in the waterfront breezes and read. There is a large outdoor stone fire grill for barbecues and picnic tables. The waterfront has a large dock, lounge chairs, 4 kayaks, a canoe, two paddle boards (new!) and a row boat/little sail boat. Perfect for swimming, boating, or fishing!

You can walk or run the 6 mile loop in the morning before jumping into the pristine water that has no motor boats and swim to your hearts content.

The property can comfortably sleep 14 (perfect for a family reunion) while promising everyone privacy and yet is also cozy enough for an individual couple’s retreat.

If you ever want to leave camp you can be in Camden or Belfast in under 15 minutes and enjoy the natural beauty of the Maine Coast or the wonderful shops, farm market, sailing and restaurants along Route 1.

We built this camp as our family’s sanctuary, but we do like to share it on a limited basis with people who would also respect and appreciate it.

Our cleaners are available to you during your stay if you'd like to book with them directly...

**In the winter months between Nov 1 - Ap 15th the cabins close and the main house only is available and it sleeps 6-8 - the weekly is less - inquiry is suggested.

Lovely stay

The property was as advertised and a lovely place to stay. It was a little buggy, and the sailboat didn't work very well, but the lake was lovely and the home very comfortable.

Great spot for Family vacation

We had a great time with our family. Ages ranged from 4-70 and everyone had a comfy place to sleep and an activity (games, puzzles, paddling, playground etc.) to enjoy. This was a prefect spot for us, and although we wished it was sunny and warm the entire time, we had fun on the beautiful porch and stayed dry and warm by the fire!

Special retreat on the lake!

Our family of five had a wonderful time at this very special property. Comfortably outfitted with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable. From the water toys to fishing from the dock, spacious kitchen, and outdoor patios, to the outdoor fire pit - this place was awesome. Highly recommend for that perfect lake side vacation retreat.

Worth Repeating, Again and Again.

We just got back from a great vacation at Larry’s Pond, Christina’s EXCLUSIVE FAMILY COMPOUND LAKE HOUSE & CABINS, and we could not be happier. The adults hung out on the beautiful clean private grounds and awesome fire pit while the younger children play in the crystal clear water and kept themselves busy fishing and we all spent the most relaxing mornings out on the boats. We loved the decks on all three cabins in front, perfect for coffee in the morning. Everything was just right. We absolutely loved all three Lakeside Cottages and had an amazing time. Beautiful Lake view and a great beach. It was very relaxing just what we needed, and the best part is our kids loved it. We cannot wait to come back again! Thanks Again for a wonderful vacation!!!

A wonderfully relaxing weekend

We absolutely loved the outdoor fireplace on the back porch. The owner has added heavy plastic sheathing to the back porch which turns that space into an amazing place to gather relax and enjoy the outdoors in February in Maine. We kept the outdoor fire going so it was warm in the back porch “snow globe”. We had the inside fire going for ambiance for the members of our group that were less inclined to be out on the porch and we made great use of the remarkable kitchen. We brought our supplies and created wonderful meals. The support staff helped clear the snow and made sure the property was ready for our group. A secluded and relaxing weekend was exactly what we needed and what we found in Searsmont. We left refreshed with a new set of great memories for our group.

A special place....

This is a special place....I just felt it as soon as I drove up. The grounds are beautiful. The house and cabins are wonderfully done. You will feel it. We so enjoyed it as a family gathering. The screened in porch was large enough that we could gather out there and eat all together as well as get together for games in the evening.. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need. Everyone enjoyed cooking in it. We enjoyed the fire pit as well as the lake. It is peaceful...quiet...and the sound of the loons greeted us most mornings. We had 3 families as well as ourselves and always felt there was plenty of room. The kids loved the yard to run around in. I highly recommend a stay at this special place.

Three Generations Gathering Together

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. We enjoyed your special slice of heaven on earth... We were able to watch our families interact with laughter and tears, Fearless moments jumping off the "Kids Floating Island". Confidence was built and relationships strengthened. Knees were skinned and legs bruised. A half marathon was raced and many miles were hiked and jogged. We caught fish and were pampered in the spas. And we ate, and ate, and ate some more... Food prepared by others, food prepared together, and creative leftover original recipes were tried. Thank you for being willing to let us use your home to make new memories for our family. Beautiful Property

We had a great time staying in this family friendly compound. Loved that we had access to paddle boards and kayaks. The lake was lovely. We did not realize that the property was not air conditioned and the week that we were staying the humidity was really high and the cabins got very warm. The other issue for our group was there was no microwave, so when we wanted to heat anything up we had to heat it on the stove which added to the heat in the cabin as well as the number of dishes that we had to wash. The lighting was not good in the interior gathering space. It was to dim at night to work on our puzzle so we did not get to finish it during our trip. Loved the screened in porch and the table where we could all sit and eat dinner. Over all good location.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE

I booked this for my 40th birthday celebration, there were 11 of us and it felt like adult summer camp! The house and cabins are straight out of a magazine. There are about a million small touches everywhere that make it all feel super cozy and it's immaculately clean. The property is amazing - super private and very quiet. The lake is stunning. The stars are unbelievable. Even though we were a large group we never felt cramped - there is plenty of space for everyone to be together or to wander off on their own for their own adventures. We kayaked every day, sat around the fire, laughed and played games. As if all of that wasn't enough - the host and caretakers were phenomenal. Christina, Mindy and Jenny made planning this group event so easy for me - they were super responsive, provided a ton of recommendations, and were very flexible and easy going. I sincerely appreciated all of their hard work - it truly added to how special this trip was. If you are looking for an incredible property for a Maine vacation, just stop now and reserve this today, you won't regret it!

Absolutely perfect place for a family reunion!

Well Fed Farm is amazing- so peaceful, safe, and beautiful, both the location and the house itself. My family of eight (ranging in age from 6 to 80) had a glorious week. I'm a chef, and I bring my knives and one good skillet to EVERY rental house, because I've been burned (no pun intended) too many times by beautiful kitchens that are so poorly stocked you can barely boil water in them. THIS kitchen was perfection- every possible tool, the best cookware available, sharp knives, every spice you could want. I made mini bundt cakes, a waffle bar, braised pork tacos... everything & anything that came to mind, this kitchen had what I needed. This is the first time I have brought my knives and pan and not even unpacked them! We had a rainy, cool week for the most part, but with the huge porch and multiple wood burning fire places and plenty of wood, we didn't mind at all. There's a game closet with literally HUNDREDS of games and puzzles. My nephews played ping-pong for hours, and every time the sun broke through we went kayaking on the peaceful, clean lake. We slept with our doors & windows open to the screened porch, and the birds & frogs were incredible. The sound of loons calling on the lake was amazing! I can't say enough about this home- yes, it's rural, and you'll need to stock up. But if you want a place to just cozy up with your family (with the gorgeous town of Camden just 20 minutes away if you get stir crazy), this is the spot.

Great Family Gathering Place

Christina’s Way looks exactly like the pictures except they have added some great new picnic tables, rockers and benches outside. You instantly feel calm when you look out at the lake and inhale the cool air. We had 13 people and had more than enough room to spread out and still enjoy the communal spaces. Having the paddle boards and kayaks was great- several days we never left the camp. My husband and daughter caught so many fish they just stopped. That has never happened. Ever. There was plenty of wood and we had a fire outside when it wasn’t raining and on the porch when it was. The kitchen was large and well equipped and we only ate out one night. Tons of games and movies for all ages. We added to the collection. The lake is still a bit chilly but a few of us got in anyway. It’s a great halfway point for day trips to Acadia, Belfast, and Camden. 5 of them went and played golf at Samoset Resort and loved the scenery. It’s something you HAVE to put on your bucket list!

About the host

Hosted by Christina Sidoti

Host profile image
I am a chef and designer. I have two children and four brand new grand babies! I tend to my farm, and am dedicated to issues of Global Security, the environment and protection of children and animals. My friends and family are the world to me. This is our third season renting our home and we have met the most beautiful wonderful families from around the world who come and celebrate milestone events and have family reunions...and it is my absolute joy to have our home available for these milestone celebrations...if my walls could talk they'd be very happy! I rent my home now because I spend more and more time watching my grand babies grow which they keep doing...but they don't not live in Maine...it's been an extraordinary experience to meet through VRBO and Home Away the most wonderful people who want a shared Maine experience and we find ourselves all very likeminded. Many of our vacationers now come back year after year leaving behind some goodies like Ice Cream makers for the following year :) I love design and developing properties with an eye to sustainability and being tender with the earth. I love to create recipes from the vegetables in the garden and you'll find me parousing the Green Markets in Camden and Belfast and the Co op in Belfast for local goodies to cook. I love doing Yoga at ..mostly I love playing the guitar and singing silly songs with my grand children. I have traveled the world for work and such and I find no more beautiful place on earth than this home on this lake...I hope you will feel the same...most of our vacationing families feel exactly the same.

Why they chose this property

There is a magical story behind my acquisition of the land the house is built on. Let's just say that childhood dreams come true if you never let the dream go. My grand babies now ask about when they'll be in Maine again and we dream about picking vegetables and swimming in the lake all year long! We have created extraordinary memories here, weddings and births...in the early mornings I often awake now with a baby and slip down to the lake (about 30 steps) and sit quietly with my coffee and watch the sunrise and listen for the loons. As the family awakes, the smell of coffee and bacon, frying pancakes fill the air along with the sounds of giggles and family chatter. This all warms my heart. I built this home for such moments, while fleeting they are the deepest memories. Sometimes now I see my son in law coming in on a kayak earlier than I'd expect with one of his kids they'd be out watching the mist lift and looking for an eagle...the kayak slicing through the water with one of the toddlers sitting happily the mist pulling up. What more can I tell you except that I've tried to recreate paradise where there is joy for every age and every level of adventure or no adventure just napping and reading and shopping in town. I have curated the home and cabins, the garden and waterfront to be private and social at the same time. You should want for nothing but your toothbrushes! If you need anything at all in advance of your booking and after your reserve, we are here to accommodate you from booking Lobster Clam Bakes at the waterfront to massages and sailing trips to babysitting...

What makes this property unique

The lake has never had a motor boat on it, it's pristine and so tranquil and quiet, swimming from end to end, kayaking at sunrise or sunset, paddle boarding, fishing the bass, it is unusual because it's so private and secluded, it feels like time stands still here. A half mile private driveway, large vegetable and herb gardens to pick from. Private spaces and communal spaces so that everyone can enjoy their vacation in their own way. Yoga set up for four people. And now a new playset with swings and a slide and clubhouse. My favorite things are the paddle boards.
