About this property

Crescent Cottage - 3 Bedroom 1.5 Bath with Firepit, Lake Toys, and Sunset Views

Enjoy all that Lake Life has to offer! Whether you’re sitting around the firepit, watching the sunset over the lake, or ice fishing it’s the escape you deserve!

Located just 30 minutes from the northwest metro you can avoid all the hectic weekend travel and spend more time on the lake!

Our 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cabin is perfect for quality time with friends and family.

The cabin features 3 bedrooms (two rooms each with a queen size bed, and one room with 2 twin bunk beds), 1 full bathroom and one half bathroom, laundry, kitchen with two counter seats, and a kitchen table that can seat 8.

The open living room flows nicely into the dining room and kitchen with lots of natural light and views of the lake.

There are two parking spots are available in the driveway, but the garage (and basement) are off limits as neither are finished spaces at this time.

Big Lake and Mitchell Lake have a combined 391 acres of crystal clear water along with a public beach and restaurant (Willy's on the Water) with a dock! Enjoy your time on the water - swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, fishing, or floating peacefully.

Big Lake is arguably the clearest lake in the area and we do our best to rake up any lake weeks. But they do occur and while water clarity is usually over 10 feet this can vary depending on mother nature.

There are many fun attractions around the area, including the Spud Fest in late June, the Graniteman Triathlon in early August, several parks with playgrounds, Sand Dunes State Forest, and the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. There are also a number of great local restaurants, bars, and breweries.

This cabin is your perfect escape anytime of the year!

We have a dock that can be used for swimming, playing and fishing, but is not designed for boats.

The yard down to the lake is somewhat steep and may be challenging for this with mobility issues.

For guest safety, property protection and compliance of house rules, motion sensitive active recording cameras (blink door bell) are in place place and on 24/7 on the front door. Our guest's privacy is paramount, the camera is only facing the front yard, street and parking area.

So cute and close to the cities!!

The view from the couch is AMAZING...the lake, the trees, the firepit...just cozy & peaceful. I love that it was clean and perfectly set up for a weekend away.

Peaceful lakeside retreat

Our family enjoyed a long weekend at Big Lake. The scenery speaks for itself, and the homeowners have created a restful, clean and well equipped cottage to enjoy it from. The kids loved the bunk beds and thoughtful gift of s’mores, while us parents took in the relaxing views from the big windows. It was the perfect home base to come back to between visits with family in the surrounding area. I’m sure this place shines and delights during all seasons on beautiful Big Lake!

Lake house

It was a quaint very clean property. Location was perfect. Great setting on the lake. Pictures were a bit misleading however, it was a very old property. Although there were some upgrades, the layout of the house was a bit awkward. Kitchen needs some work. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Crescent Cottage

The house was clean and was spacious for the 8 of us to eat at the table and sit around and talk. There were board games there to utilize and the back area looked great, but it was a little too cold for us to use the water/ lake stuff.

Crescent Cottage

This house is a gem! It looks a bit run down from the front, but once you enter the house it looks really nice. It has a lovely backyard and lake access. The owners provide some lake toys (SUP & kayak) so you can go right out onto the lake. The water was chilly but very clean. One thing to note - it is difficult to get down to the lake if you are not steady on your feet, there are no stairs just a grassy hill to slide down & climb up. This made it difficult for our elderly parents to access the lake area. The house itself was well stocked, comfortable and nicely decorated. I would definitely stay here again!

Greatest Find Ever!

This property is even better in person, not a single detail was left out. It was incredibly clean, the beds and bedding were so comfy. The decor was so well thought out and exquisitely done! Everything you could ever need was thought about and easy to find. I will definitely be back to spend more time here. The convenience to town was amazing, we walked to the coffee shop each morning! The fire pit was perfect with cute and comfy chairs around it. We ate our meals on the deck and used the grill as well. The kids used the kayaks and had a blast. I would love to own a place like this, it didn't feel like a rental it felt like you were staying in your family's home. Thank you!

Perfect family getaway in a beautiful cottage

My husband, mother-in-law, kids and I had the most pleasant experience staying at crescent cottage. I grew up in the area but have been living in Maryland for many years. We visit often but are tired of hotels or imposing on family when we visit. We came out for Christmas so started looking for a vrbo in the area. We found crescent cottage and thought it would be the perfect place to stay! It was exactly what we were looking for and more. There were so many personal touches in the home, from a variety of throw blankets to cozy up on the couch, to board games and toys for the kids. The kitchen is well equipped and you can tell that this is a family cottage, not just a rental home. I had a variety of questions for the owners before we arrived and they responded promptly to all of my questions and were always helpful. The home itself is so sweet and well laid out. It is small, but never felt too small for all of us. The view is beautiful and we can’t wait to stay during the warmer months!
