The cottage is absolutely perfect, slept 5 of us very comfortably. Shower had great water pressure, everything worked as advertised, wish we could have stayed for longer! Only note is that the upstairs gets pretty cold but the space heaters helped and we just bundled up to go to sleep.
We stayed for a weekend of skiing at Stratton. It was great to be close to Manchester. Kitchen was plenty big for cooking dinners and breakfasts. Ample closet space and plenty of blankets as it was fridged. Owners were very responsive for all questions. Check in and out was easy.
We loved so many things about this house! It was clean, well stocked, easy to get to, very convenient to town, the drive was beautiful, it was peaceful, and had everything we needed. I would 100% book this place again.
Couldn't be happier with the property. Beautiful views of the mountains and just enough off the beaten path that you have plenty of privacy. Nick was very helpful and communicative from start to finish.
A cozy place to spend a white Christmas in Vermont. 5 charming minutes through historic Manchester. Clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed. we appreciated the owner had the driveway plowed after the snow storm. Definitely recommend!
This house is in a great location and has everything you need to feel at home. Great house to cook in or sit out on the porch. Quick rides to town or out for a hike.
More importantly Nick was so great to work with; anyone who stays here is in good hands.
Thank you for everything Nick!
Can’t wait to come back.
Nice little rustic cottage in Manchester. Check in was easy. The cottage was clean and well kept. It is only a short drive into town. One thing of note is that there is no dishwasher which was fine for us. Would recommend this cottage to anyone staying in Manchester.
Brook Trout Cottage was a perfect fit for our family of 4 (and 2 small dogs too). We were in town to visit family in Bennington, and even though the ‘historic’ rains & flooding occurred, we were safe & dry here. The washer & dryer were a huge plus for us! Mary was great with quick communication, everything was exactly as advertised. We would definitely stay here again!
Super cute restored cottage for people able to go up and down steep, narrow stairs. The creaking of the master bed was really unpleasant and I would highly recommend a new one. Plenty of space for two people to relax after a day of hiking. Loved that it's close to town, but also remote enough to be quiet at the end of the day.
Wonderful and just perfect!!
Really well equipped. Can’t say enough good things about it!
Second stay here and again it worked beautifully for us.
Location is ideal. Just out of town with an easy drive to everything Manchester has to offer.
Nick, the owner, is super easy to talk to. Just a great guy. There when needed. Otherwise we had the privacy and relaxation time we so needed.
Am already looking forward to the next stay! MANY THANKS Nick, for having us!

Cozy, comfortable, charming!
We had a wonderful experience here! Everything was clean, well maintained, and exactly what we needed for our little getaway! (Wedding)
We have an infant that really enjoyed watching the cows mosey by in the pasture across the street - we enjoyed it also :) Spectacular views of the trees and mountains. Super close and convenient to the Lincoln Hildene Home, where the wedding was located. The Equinox Valley Nursery is just around the corner and also has some fun fall activities.
The owner, Molly is very responsive and was a pleasure!
Thank you, Molly! We love Brook Trout Cottage and hope to return some day!!!

Cutest cottage!!
Stayed with my husband and 2 grown sons (21 and 17). Even though it's a small cottage, everyone had enough room to spread out and be comfortable. Great location that gave us the feeling of a country life while a close proximity to the shopping and dining in Manchester Center. We didn't have high speed internet or favorite cable channels, which boys weren't too crazy about, it forced us to spend time as a family, reading, exploring the area and being amazed with those gorgeous mountains. Having the close encounter with the peaceful cows in front of the house was fun!!
This absolutely adorable ☺️ little cottage was one off my favorite places to stay :: It was like back home in Ireland :: So clean, it was immaculate.. The linens & beds were perfect 🤩… I wish I could give it a 10 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☘️☘️☘️☘️.. I will be back next year for sure .. Thank you 🙏 so much ..Josephine & Karleen ☘️☘️
This cottage is charming, clean, and has a rural but updated feel. The color tones of blues and whites makes it feel very happy and the downstairs kitchen, back entry and table area is large and lofty feeling; perfect for dinners, laughter and visiting. There is only one bathroom, perfectly adequate and the private downstairs bedroom is comfty and has all you need with a single day bed and trundle. Upstairs is small, with very steep steps but both bedrooms are comfortable with a queen in one and set of twins in the other. Linens, blankets and matresses all in great shape. This cottage sits right on the road, which is typical of the farms and spaces in VT-and although limited traffic, vehicles do go by quickly. It wasn't noisy, but more of a safety thought for anyone with kids or dogs. Our dog was fine hanging in the small and private back yard area but note the property is not entirely fenced in. The views, landscapes, scenery and relaxing atmosphere made for a great weekend and Molly was super easy to communicate with. I highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Nick Bruch
I am an outgoing and friendly host who loves to help. I am 29 years old, born and raised in Vermont. I moved down here for work 2 years ago from Burlington and fell in love with the area. I am a carpenter by trade but have enjoyed the connections and friendships developed through the short-term rental property space and am excited for the chance to meet new people. I grew up around dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and snakes so all types of animals are welcomed and loved. I enjoy walking the trails, playing hockey, lacrosse and being outdoors. Please feel free to reach out if you need any recommendations on where to go or activities to do around town or have any questions. I am easy to reach by phone and would love to be of assistance to make your stay at the Cottage the best possible!
Why they chose this property
I live in close proximity to the Cottage and love the property as a whole. It's nestled in the valley with beautiful views all around which makes every time of the year a sight to see. The bedrooms offer space for a family while the common areas are open and inviting to share a meal or morning coffee as you take in the view. The road is quiet and is in close proximity to downtown allowing for easy and quick trips to do some shopping or to grab some food and drinks at any of the local restaurants or bars. All in all a great option for anyone traveling alone, with a partner, pets or the whole family.
What makes this property unique
This property offers the privacy of a quiet home with the views of Vermont's beautiful landscape, paired with access to downtown and miles of walking trails to take in everything the local environment has to offer. On the trails you can come across Beaver dams, deer and other wildlife while being 10 minutes away from some of Vermont's best shopping. If you have a love for hunting or fly fishing, the Orvis shooting school, fly fishing school and flag ship store are only a few miles away and can be booked using their website. Manchester is one of the best towns in Vermont and has something for everyone. The Cottage is an amazing home-base to explore everything this town and the surrounding area has to offer while giving you the comfort of your own space to recharge for your next adventure.
