Our October 2023 stay

On the plus side beautiful property and neighborhood. Older place so furniture and beds/pillows etc are a bit dated. This property was managed by Big Bear Vacations, which was a little different than our pervious VRBO rentals. They will make you fill out their own significant rental agreement. Just wasn't something we were used to. Had everything we needed in the kitchen. Furnace wasn't working when we got there, but they were responsive and brought us space heaters and some kindled for the wood stove. Got the furnace fixed the next day. Only complaint was the lack of communication as to when someone would come and when they got it completed. Only 1/2 the hottub jets are working, and the disposal leaked below kitchen sink when it was running. Let them know about it so that should be fixed soon. Read the fine print in the rental contract. They make you haul all your own trash to a trash site and will charge you $25 per bag of trash left behind, and $25 of you leave them a sink full of dirty dishes. Makes one wonder what the all the cleaning fee is for. Other than these few things, we liked this place and the location.

What is this a house for ants?

Lots of ants, everywhere. Great location. Won't be staying here again though, very "small" feeling place

Cozy

Cozy cabin. Felt very relaxed. Amazed with the amount of pans and pots they had. They had what was needed to cook with. Make sure you bring your own spices though. Everything was a short drive and the walk to the lake was nice.

50th Birthday Celebration!

This was such a cute cabin and we enjoyed our stay. Although the hot tub was not working we were compensated and had a wonderful time. The interaction at check in was pleasant and welcoming. Thank you for the stay. Had a wonderful 50th with my family in Big Bear at Knotty & Nice!

Broken hot tub, dishwasher and TP in bed

Upon checking the place smelled like cigarette smoke. The hot tub was broken called the property managment company at first was told they would send someone called back 2 hours later they said oh yeah that hot tub is broken nothing we can do. finally told at 9pm the manager had gone home and they would switch properties for me the next day. There were 3 in my party the place they switched me to next day was clean and hot tub worked but no propane for the grill. It also was a massive 5 bed 5 bathroom strange compound style house. We had a nice weekend filled with activities but I can not recommend this place at all. Kind of sad because had the cabin been maintained correctly would have been a lovely place.

Bee Hive

The property we rented turned out to be beautiful on the outside, but a nightmare on the inside. I had 15 bees in the master bedroom when I woke up. And the inside was not cleaned prior to us coming due to dead bugs and dust. We had to drive back to the rental company, and once there the crew was accommodating and gave us a different rental. We did appreciate the new cabin, just a bummer that we lost a day of waiting packing up and then repacking etc.

Knotty but Nice

Cabin was cute. Little smaller than expected in the living room area but bedrooms were nice and beds were comfortable. Kitchen lacked a can opener which made cooking some of our food difficult. The air vent above the staircase needs to be cleaned but other than that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Thank you

Clean, comfortable, spacious and well-appointed

The photos did not do this beautiful, two-story log cabin justice. Big front porch, private porch with a great fully functional spa off the dining room. The two upstairs bedrooms were palatial. Everything was clean and working well. A couple of the frying pans had some caked-on eggs on them, and visitors should plan to bring their own toilet paper, paper towels and coffee filters. Otherwise, a perfect stay.

The property Was a decent stay

Overall the stay was fine. I’ve stayed at a lot of places on the lake and this one is decent for the price. It’s my favorite location on the lake but I would prob spend a little more to be on the lake. Just a recommendation, if your on a budget this place works.

Overall a positive experience!

Nice place! We were comfortable and had everything we needed. Tip: bring extra garbage bags because they only provide one. Beautiful deck and hot tub. The place was a little dark during the day but we weren't there for very long.

Nice cabin, but ants everywhere.

Ants in the kitchen, on the furniture, in the bathroom, etc. Staff said, "There's nothing we can do." My wife definitely didn't want to spend each morning of our vacation cleaning someone else's cabin, but she did.

Overall good experience

Excellent location, nice cabin, great hut tub...however, needs better maintenance and cleaning. Very old and stained carpet, old bed sheets, dust everywhere, toilet seats are in horrible condition. Overall we had fun and enjoyed beautiful Big Bear.

Perfect stay! Kids and adults loved it!

We had such a great stay! The home was spacious and the decor was perfect for Big Bear! The hot tub and game table was an absolute bonus! The neighborhood was a perfect walking neighborhood, perfect for kids to bring their scooters or bikes. We had no idea how close we were to the lake. We were within a 3 minute walk and was able to enjoy sunsets. We will be back for sure. A+++. No complaints. Thank you for a wonderful pre-Thanksgiving holiday!

Wonderful time with family

The cabin was lovely. Nicely furnished. Beautiful deck and yard. Very relaxing. However, we had to throw out food due to ants getting in it. The linens on the bed were rough and uncomfortable. I would definitely stay there again, but I'd bring my own sheets. My family had an amazing time there. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
