About this property

Enology House has hot tub and fireplace close to Newberg. Explore wines here.

Enology is the study of Wine. Enology House was built by my father and I upon his retirement from custom home building, it is crafted with furniture-grade woodworking throughout. Knotty alder, stone and wood floors make for a cozy, warm, cabin-like experience. A gorgeous three sided gas fireplace is the focal point for the gourmet kitchen, and large living room. The dining room makes for wonderful meals with friends. Enjoy soaking in the bath tub or take a dip in the private hot tub. Intimate bedrooms are insulated for sound with private TVs.

Generous indoor and outdoor spaces. Intimate, cozy bedrooms. Walk-in, curbless tile shower and soaking tub. Private hot tub area. Covered deck and open patio spaces. Lush landscaping and flower garden walking paths. All of this is surrounded by Oregon's beautiful, natural wine country settings. The home was built with large windows offering beautiful natural light and garden views, and the interior lighting is also extremely well designed. The three sided gas fireplace with sitting hearth will warm your back as you visit with friends or read a book from the lending library.

The gourmet, Chef's Kitchen includes a generous island with prep sink. The Electrolux gas range features two ovens and a powerful hood fan with dimmable light. The kitchen is equipped with basic herbs, spices, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. We equipped it so you can cook just about anything your imagination allows--bring out your gourmet chef!

There are three ways to make coffee--Drip, Espresso Pod and Press Pot. Along with all the wine glasses needed to host your own tasting in the privacy of the home.

There is a soft-sided ice chest and a blanket to pack your wine tasting picnic as you explore the Willamette Valley's amazing vineyards.

The living room comes alive with 6.1 surround sound through the Denon receiver. Six speakers plus a subwoofer will make your movie watching real, and your music streaming gorgeous. You can stream your favorite music through Apple AirPlay to the receiver, or use Denon's HEOS Music feature to stream Spotify, Amazon Music and more.

A lending library makes for a quiet weekend staying in and reading a new book you discovered.

A wing-leaf table allows you to play a huge board game with your friends. It's especially good for Settlers of Catan or Monopoly!

The living room has generous seating and a leather recliner located near the fireplace for an afternoon nap.

Escape the privacy of your own bedroom. Each bedroom is equipped with a queen sized bed and its own TV with virtual surround sound. The closet spaces are generous with two suitcase holders for each room. The rooms are insulated with Rockwool insulation to dampen sound, privacy locks and each bedroom also has its own ceiling fan for your comfort.

The main bedroom has a separate chaise lounge, and richly tiled bathroom with curbless walk-in shower and soaking tub with wand shower heads for both.

The home is close to Newberg yet in a private, country setting. You will have free run of the home, and the yard surrounding the home.

The home is on an acre. The neighborhood around the home features large homes on estate sized lots.

We have a long-term tenant in the ADU above the barn studio office where EverLife Home, our remodeling company, is based. Please do not bother that tenant. You can call us if you need anything.

The beautiful garden paths, stone patio, hot tub and lawns surrounding the home are there for your private enjoyment. Only the humming birds and squirrels will bother you.

The home is solar powered with a Tesla Universal car charger (it handles NACS & J1772 plug ins).

The home is positioned close to the luxurious Allison Hotel and Spa (rooms there are between $500 and $800 per night), and the Jory Restaurant. We like to think of this home as the "Alison East."

George Fox University is within 5 minutes of the home.

Wineries and breweries are within a few minutes drive, and the Newberg/Dundee area offers many amazing restaurants.

Chehalem Glenn is the challenging 18 hole public golf course within 10 minutes of the home.

Great place in a great lication

This house was stunning! Loved that it had newer appliances and was up-to-date on furnishings. There were four adults and it was super spacious! Great location with easy access to wineries.

Relaxing Country Home

This is a really nice property—clean both inside and out. We made full use of the kitchen, preparing both breakfast and a complete dinner. It was well-stocked with all the essentials, including a variety of herbs and spices. The outdoor gas grill worked perfectly and came with a full tank. The hot tub was a fantastic way to unwind after a day of hiking or wine tasting. The house itself felt warm and cozy, with a gas log fireplace in the main room that was especially comforting on a rainy Sunday morning. We also appreciated the excellent sound system for streaming music and watching TV.

Daughters wedding

We had a beautiful weekend at this house. We used the house as a place for the bride and groom to stay but also for the wedding party to get ready. The "first look" photos were taken there as well. It was perfect and the host was wonderful and accommodating.

About the host

Hosted by Keith Knowles

Host profile image
We are Kim and Keith Knowles--we've been married nearly 30 years, love traveling together, eating amazing meals with friends and drinking great wines. Keith is currently raising money for Cure Leukaemia and will be riding the 2024 Tour de France one week ahead of the actual race. Kim loves dancing ballet and practicing yoga. We also love to play with our Golden Retriever--Pippi. We look forward to hosting you!

Why they chose this property

Keith and his Dad built this luxury home for his Mom and Dad's retirement residence. This is a piece of family heritage that we wanted to keep for our family's legacy. We love its location in Oregon's Wine Country, the natural landscape around it, and the comforting beauty of the home's interior spaces.

What makes this property unique

This is a custom built home by furniture grade craftsmen--my Dad and I. Every detail is thought through and creates a wonderful environment. Whether it be the knotty alder beams, stone hearth, wood floors, glass fronted and lit display cabinets, gourmet kitchen, walk-in tile shower, outdoor living spaces...we could go on and on! It is also a solar powered home with Tesla Universal Car Charger. You will be hard pressed to find another short term rental of this quality.
