About this property

Pet-Friendly Ambrose House with Sun Porch

Summary:
Nestled in the Lakes Region, our charming 19th-century home offers a unique getaway. Imagine unwinding amidst farms and hiking trails, with Lake Winnipesaukee and the majestic Castle in the Clouds just minutes away.

The Space:
Step into a bygone era at Ambrose House, a meticulously renovated historic residence exuding charm and timeless appeal. Nestled adjacent to the iconic Castle In The Clouds, and a stone's throw away from the pristine Lake Winnipesaukee—offering an array of aquatic adventures—it's ideally situated, just a short 20-minute drive to the bustling towns of Wolfeboro or Meredith.

As you arrive you're greeted by the warmth of beautiful wood beams and floors. The antique cooktop stove adds a touch of nostalgia to the modern kitchen, a perfect blend of past and present. The house boasts two distinct living areas, each telling its own unique story.

Downstairs, the main kitchen and dining area beckon, complete with a decorative propane heat stove and mini-split A/C to keep you comfortable year-round. A designated desk area, laundry facilities, and a cozy tea/coffee nook ensure you have everything you need. Revel in the 'purple room' with its exposed beams and inviting leather seating, or unwind in the sun-soaked enclosed porch.

The lower level also houses a full bathroom and a convenient half bathroom. For those seeking a bit of solitude, the 'blue room' offers a quiet sanctuary for reading or working, with a pull-out couch if needed. Practical amenities such as an iron, ironing board, clothes rack, and fans are tucked away in the closet.

The home has three bedrooms: on the lower level is a double bedroom, while upstairs, you'll find the main bedroom with a queen bed and beautiful views over the neighboring farm, and a charming twin bedroom. Each bedroom is equipped with a whisper-quiet window A/C unit, ensuring your comfort during warmer days

Inside the barn you will find a variety of lawn games, a fire pit for some outdoor fun on the back lawn, along with essential supplies neatly organized for your convenience. The fenced-in perennial garden to the side is perfect for leisurely strolls or grilling sessions on the deck, all while enjoying the company of your furry friends. The open back lawn area with a picnic table invites games, relaxation and al fresco dining, while the adjoining nearby wooded area provides an opportunity for a bit of exploration. Uncover the fascinating history of the region at the adjacent historic cemetery, dating back to the Revolutionary War.

There is driveway parking for several vehicles and, for the environmentally-conscious, a dedicated EV charger is available.

This pet-friendly haven has welcomed travelers for two centuries, blending historic charm and modern comfort. Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, our home provides the perfect base. Create lasting memories and feel the echoes of generations past within these welcoming walls.

Other Things to Note:
Grill: We ask our guests to clean the grill after use or before check out as a courtesy to the next guests otherwise, additional $35 fee will be charged for cleaning the grill. Thank you!

Pet Policy: We're delighted to welcome your pets; simply inform us in advance for approval, and a $175 fee will be applied upon approval. Please note that unauthorized pets will result in a $500 fee added to your bill to maintain a pet-friendly environment.

Winter time: Given the harsh and unpredictable New England weather, we do not guarantee that deck will be cleared off during the winter time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Air conditioning: Please be advised that the AC units should not be set below 70 degrees. Setting the temperature lower than 70 degrees may trip the breaker, causing a disruption in service.

Interaction with Guests:
We will be available throughout your stay to offer assistance, and we can stay in touch via phone or email for any inquiries or support needed.
