About this property

Eagle Vista Cottage at the old Sacheen Lake Resort

This cottage is on the property that once made up the Sacheen Lake Resort. It has a great view that looks across a wide expanse of lawn to beautiful Sacheen Lake and across to the low mountains that surround the lake. There is a dock with a diving board and a beach with a firepit that can be used when there is no fire ban. Sometimes you can see an eagle looking for a meal from a tree down in front of the cabin. There is a volleyball court for the active among you. It is a beautiful tranquil setting where you can relax or be as active as you want to be. If you make a reservation request on Saturday or Sunday, you will not get a response until the following Monday. Thank you.
We also have an additional property on the same grounds we call the 'Big House'. Please see VRBO#306064

Perfectly low key cabin on the lake

This is the perfect little cabin by the lake. I loved my relaxing stay. Temperature of the lake was surprisingly warm and I loved the kayak. Only thing missing were the non-perishable basics in the kitchen such as olive oil, ice cube tray and shampoo would have been appreciated... There is a "smart" Tv you can log into your netflix, Max, Hulu accounts... I would come back. Thank you Bobbie.

Everything was amazing.

Had a wonderful time. Peaceful except for the road noise, but didn't hear it much inside the cabin. Had a problem with the shower, but I am sure they will fix that easily. Overall excellent & can't wait to go again.

Easy to rent. The pictures didn't do it justice!

Great place

Great place to stay close to the water and plenty of things to do around the property. Didn't get into on time though as cleaners never came to clean and open up. Ended up getting in 2 hours late. Other than that, it was all good!

Know what you are getting into before you book!

We would not have booked this cabin if it were portrayed accurately. The entire resort area this season has a very bad yellow-jacket infestation. We had to purchase traps that were almost immediately filled with hundreds of yellow-jackets. Despite the traps, we were not able to spend any time outside the cabin hanging out because of the danger of being stung. I believe this information is vital and should be disclosed to a guest. The entire resort grassy area is covered in Canadian Goose poop. This might not bother some, but we would not have chosen to come here if we knew this in advance. There is a fifth wheel RV parked within a foot of one entire side of the cabin. The shore at the lake where the dock is is not a pleasant area for swimming due to the excessive weed growth in the lake. Cleaning fee and damage deposit: there is a non-refundable cleaning fee and a refundable damage deposit associated with rental, however, there is a sign in the bathroom that tells the renter that, in order to ensure you receive the entire damage deposit back , you must sweep and mop all floors, place used towels in a hamper, do all dishes, and wipe the kitchen counters down before leaving. The majority of the windows do not open and those that do do not have screens so we could not have a cross breeze to keep the cabin cool. The owners are friendly and responsive to requests, and the cabin is very cute inside. We saw a cute beaver and two frogs. We enjoyed the badminton court. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to anyone, given the above information.

Cute cottage in a great location

I stayed six nights with myself and two kids (7 & 4) and it was a great cabin for us! The kitchen and bathroom are a good size and the internet was great! The daybed and trundle were comfortable for sleeping. There is an additional pull out bed which we did not use. There is also a mattress of some sort in the loft which my 7 year old slept on. I would not consider this a feasible bed for an adult or younger child as the loft is a steep ladder to climb and low ceiling. My daughter did love her little "loft cave" as the 4 year old left her alone up there :) Overall this was a great home base for our trip. The resort has a great beach entry to the lake and the views can't be beat!

A wonderful weekend!

Very cute and clean little cabin. My kids and I had the best time! Beautiful setting and my kids had so much fun playing on the beach and paddle boat. They caught too many fish to keep track of ( we catch and release) but luckily there was a store near by to purchase more bait. Everyone was sad to leave when it was time to go. We will definitely stay again!

Old-school, summer cabin resort vibe

Quiet and privet, if that's what you're looking for, but also opportunities to chat or sun with other guests. Lots to do--lawn games, kayaks, canoe, paddle boards--all for guests to use. Lake Sasheem is gorgous! We rested, read, wrote, swam, canoed and cooked romantic meals in our cabin. Owners were lovely! There is someone on site if you need help. Rejuvenating, fun, long weekend. Also, super dog friendly! LOVED IT.

It was the perfect place and great accommodations for my elderly Mother and we enjoyed staying there

We enjoyed it and just wished we actually spent more time there during our stay at the lake. We were gone alot seeing other family and 2 days took my Mom to Spokane to dialysis. Was awesome we could park close to the door of the cottage for my elderly mother. My brother and sister in law who came for a barbeque are interested in renting next month. We found the beds downstairs very comfortable. My Mom was bothered somewhat by loud highway traffic noise esp at night! She seemed to sleep ok however. I loved the shower and size of bathroom. Loved the view of the property out our window from table. It's a great place especially for 2 people!

Old School Lake Resort

We loved this place. Bobbie and Don were so nice. Everything was rustic, clean and low key. Our boys spent hours in the lake, swimming and stalking turtles, while we watched from the porch and read. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Delightful!

It was just delightful the 6 days and 5 nights my dog, Rory, and I spent at Eagle Vista Cottage. For one thing, the blinds were always open because we didn't want to miss anything: the mist rising on the lake in the morning, the sun dappling on the water in the afternoon and the full moon shining overhead at night. There was plenty to keep us busy: walking in the grass across 9 acres, (and for Rory running and playing to his heart's content), sitting on the dock watching the boaters going by, and just enjoying the solitude and quiet of the place. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. It came equipped with everything we needed. We're looking forward to returning because for us it worked on so many levels. Thank you, Eagle Vista Cottage.

Beautiful and accommodating

The cabin fit our family of 4 plus 2 small dogs perfectly, the view from our cabin window was gorgeous! We spent just one weekend and spent the majority of our time enjoying all the water toys available, paddle boating kayaking and the knee boards were a blast. The cabin was stocked with all the kitchen items you could need. Wish we would have had more time.

Perfect Little Place

This small cabin was the perfect spot for our Memorial Day weekend. The beds are comfortable, the shower excellent and the wifi faster than at home. Although it's right off Hwy 211 you don't hear the traffic sounds. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The view from the cabin to the lake is I impeded and lovely. Everything needed was provided. It was just perfect.

About the host

I am a 84 year old grandmother who has owned a construction company since 1974. My oldest son and I are now partners in the business and the business owns the lake property. Since we bought this property it has been a work in process and it still is. We are very family oriented and have enjoyed working and playing together on this project. We have 3 children, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and this is a wonderful way to enjoy the family.

Why they chose this property

When our children were little this was a very busy resort. My In-laws took their trailer up at the beginning of the summer and then other members of the family would go up and camp or just for the day. There was a large camping area, some cabins, and a restaurant out by the road. Lots of companies held their company picnics there. We have had numerous people stop by to share their memories of the time they spent at Sacheen Lake Resort. One of our sons drove by one day and saw the for sale sign and we bought it. That was almost 26 years ago.

What makes this property unique

We anjoy watching the eagles and ospreys fly over and sometimes dive for food. Occasionally, we see a heron sitting at the end of the dock. We have seen turtles sunning themselves on logs, a few times we have seen deer come down for a drink and one day this spring we saw a coyote come down to the middle of the yard before being frightened away. I enjoy the view. The house and cabins are set back from the lake and there is a large expanse of lawn between the houses and the beach and we just have a wonderful view of the whole end of the lake. This is a piece of property that we could never replace. We have 7 acres of lake view property! We are truly blessed!!
