We arrived late with a baby. The lights in car port not working, very dark trying to walk around to front door. House was freezing and thermostats not working. We had to go to store at mid-night to buy batteries to fix thermostat. Host was not concerned and said it was working when she left. Cob webs around front door, spiders in linen closet and dead bugs everywhere. Towels smelled sour. Only 4 beds-couch does not make a bed. Host not concerned when I reached out about any issues.
We arrived at Oasis on the Plains to a beautiful and scenic property that was very clean and nice inside. Right on the golf course on a little hill with beautiful scenery. Deer everywhere and easy to get to. Really good access to anything in Canyon or Amarillo. Will definitely look to stay at this house again when around this area
This property was perfect for a family weekend. Everything we needed was supplied. We were in Canyon to watch our son play football against West Texas A&M.
My husband and I live in the DFW area and our adult children and grandchildren all live in Albuquerque. Amarillo is a perfect place to meet in the middle to spend some quality time together so we chose this gem to stay for the weekend.
The rooms/beds were comfortable and clean. The living and dining room was big enough with enough seating for us to all be together to talk, play games, have family meals etc. The kitchen was well stocked and has a stove with a double oven. The cooktop even has a bridge burner if you wanted to bring a griddle! ;) There’s a wal mart about 6 minutes away that I had groceries delivered from.
The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house, away from the other three bedrooms which made it nice for when the older ones in the group (my hubby and I) couldn’t keep up with the younger ones and needed to tap out. ;)
I would 100% recommend and will probably save as a favorite for the next time we plan to meet our kids in the middle for our next visit!
Spacious clean house with plenty of room. Very tranquil and gorgeous back patio to relax and watch the fireflies after a long trip. Wish we could stay longer and play golf but had to get back on the road. LOL.
We did a quick trip to Canyon/Amarillo with family visiting from out of state. The home was beautiful, clean and in a quiet, convenient area. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and hot water for all our showers. Having soap, shampoo and coffee was a bonus! Short drives to Palo Duro and Big Texas Steak Ranch. Definitely would recommend or not hesitate to stay here again if in the area. Even if you don't have a large group, the price, convenience and privacy it offers makes it a great place to stay. Communication with owner was great and check in information was received timely.
Home is located in a remote residential area of Canyon, easily found. Neighbors homes are nicely spaced & scattered a nice distance apart where you can enjoy privacy sitting outside. Back patio has plenty of tables & chairs to easily set 10 people or more enclosed by a black decorative 4’ square tubing fence with a gate to easily access the park shared by adjoining neighbors.
Home is very neat & tidy, it’s apparent the Hostess pays close attention to detail. Home is well stocked with plenty of nice clean linens and pillows to ensure everyone’s comfort. Everyone slept well. The living room furniture/kitchen has plenty of furniture to accommodates a large group as well. Both bathrooms a large with double sinks, which is fantastic bonus when several ladies are all getting dressed.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book here again.
Only thing I’d like to include is there is no hot tube as listed in amenities. However, master bath has a luxurious deep soaker tub ( without jets) that feels amazing.
Comfortable home with four bedrooms and lovely views out the back. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. Close to stores and all that, but in a quiet neighborhood 👍
My family and I stayed for one night. The house was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The area was quiet and peaceful. The location was fairly close to town. The host was easy to communicate with and answered questions promptly.
This house is titled Oasis of the Plains. It is truly an Oasis. It sits just off of a golf course, has deer roaming up to check you out. We were there for a wedding week of festivities and was a pleasure to return each night to a sweet quiet place. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night.
This is a beautiful home. It was clean and roomy. We enjoyed the location very much with wonderful views and deer grazing on the lawn. I slept so peacefully and so did my kids. We had everything we needed and felt honored to stay in such a nice, comfortable home. We will stay here again on our visits to Canyon if it is available. Thank you to the hostess!
