We are so happy to have Blue Haven Tybee to offer our Mermaid guests. Blue Haven Tybee is located directly on a Tybee tidal creek and offers guests a private dock house and floating dock. Can't get much closer to the water!
Wake up to the sun shining on the water and have a cup of coffee in your private dock house. Watch for great blue herons, egrets, and flying fish. Experience the ebb and flow of tides. Take your paddle board or kayak out at high tide to explore Tybee's waters. The property has various seating areas including a deck, two screened in porches, the dock house, and the dock itself.
There are living area/kitchen and bedrooms on both levels. Ground level furnished porch and upstairs furnished balcony.
NOTE: THERE ARE NO INTERIOR/INSIDE STAIRS. ACCESS TO THE UPPER LEVEL IS BY COVERED EXTERIOR PORCHES/STAIRWAYS.
ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LOCATION OF THIS PROPERTY IS ON A TIDAL CREEK/MARSH AREA. ALTHOUGH IT IS WATERFRONT, IT IS NOT ON THE BEACH.

*** IMPORTANT *** BLUE HAVEN HAS A SEPTIC FIELD THAT IS LOCATED TO THE RIGHT OF THE GARAGE WHILE LOOKING AT THE COTTAGE.
THIS IS LOCATED IN THE GRASSY AREA ALONG SIDE THE COTTAGE. THIS CAN NOT BE DRIVEN ON OR PARKED ON AS IT MAY CAUSE
THE SEPTIC FIELD TO COLLAPSE.

NOTE: PETS AND CHILDREN COULD ACCESS THE DOCK AND COULD REACH THE WATER FROM THERE. PETS/CHILDREN WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED AND NOT LET OUT ON THEIR OWN. The dock house has ambient lighting and three fans to keep you comfortable as you watch the sun rise or set. Build a fire in the fire pit or fish off the dock. Relax inside in one of the four soothing bedrooms or lounge areas with smart TVs and DVD players. Great for just relaxing after a day at the beach or skip the beach and lounge on the dock! Great location and perfect space for us

We stayed with our 4 older teen/adult children during Thanksgiving week. This rental is a perfect example of a Tybee cottage and the space worked out well for us. The property manager was readily available and we had a great time!

Fun place to stay

Spent Christmas with the whole family here. Lots of room, like two 2 bedroom units one up and one down. Nice dock and boat house.

Great house and property manager!

There were 3 adults and 4 kids ranging from 10 to 16 and we had plenty of room. The house is comfortable and welcoming! I highly recommend!

A QUICKLY PLANNED WEEKEND GETAWAY

Houses were pretty clean but all outside porches weren't. Many spider webs and chairs were dusty and dirty. Hostess called and checked in on us and she was extremely nice.

Absolutely perfect!

This house had everything we needed and more! The location was perfect, being only a couple of blocks from the beach in 2 different directions. The property was gorgeous with plenty of outdoor and indoor areas to chill out and have a great time. The pool was amazing to have and it was always clean! There was ample communication and check ins from our hosts, which we highly appreciated! If you are looking for an eclectic, warm, and stunning beach house experience, this is it!

Location, location, location

This was very close to town and the beach. Had a great dock house although it was way to cold to enjoy. The owner met us for an easy check in process. Had a great time with the family. We would like to check out the house in the summer when it is warmer.

Fun getaway.

Over all it was a lot of fun and the entire family enjoyed our stay. Our mattress was a little worn out and we had trouble sleeping because we kept rolling into the center. Other than that, the house was quite charming and the owners are wonderful.

Charming Coastal Decor

We had a great time! The house setup was ideal for two couples. The interior of the house is fabulously decorated, very coastal charming. Just a few items need to be attended to on the exterior of the house and in the rental description; easy fixes that will sure to be attended before summer season: -exterior of the house and screen house is somewhat rundown -would have liked to know ahead time about the no-see-um biting bugs -would have liked to know ahead of time that the tide removes all of the water out of the “creek” the house is on

Girlfriends get together

The house is charming, with a beachy vibe. Beds were ok & there was plenty of room. It was a short drive to the beach & restaurants. We did most of our own cooking as we have a group who likes to cook. The kitchen had everything we needed & the dock house was large enough for all 7 of us to sit & comfortably enjoy a meal & conversation. We’ve been friends since grade school & were overdue for a get together. It was a wonderful stay & I would definitely recommend 😊

Senior Spring Break 2023

I rented this house for my daughter’s Senior Year Spring Break. She brought 3 of her friends and they stayed in the downstairs apartment. I stayed upstairs with a friend of mine. It was perfect to be close but not smothering and to give them a little freedom with a safety net. Just perfect. The house was just as described and super clean. The porch was prefect for morning coffee and it was a great location.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I had a great stay with Mermaid Cottages! The house was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. I've noticed that some house rentals can be a little sparse on cooking supplies, but this one was fully stocked which we really appreciated. We also quite liked that the top and bottom floor operate as separate units with their own kitchen/bathroom (this is nice if you want to be together with friends/family but want some sense of separate living spaces)- also really enjoyed the screened in space right by the dock with a large table. Special shout out to the Mermaid team for taking good care of us while we were there with great communication and support. Thank you- I'd definitely book again!

Great 2 level house

It rained the first day we were there and the covered patios came in handy for the wet weather and then later for all the biting gnats. The house was clean. It was disappointing that the landscapers came one morning early, woke up the kids and sprayed weed killer. Couldn’t let the kids outside for a while and glad I didn’t bring our dog. Awesome location, right down the street from the crab shack and close to boat launch!

Bye Bye Blue on Tybee

We truly enjoyed our time on this property. My husband and I stayed downstairs. Our adult children and their significant others stayed upstairs, allowing them some privacy. The dock house was the perfect gathering place for the whole family. Two things to know, the homes on either side of the property were closer than we thought from the pictures. The neighborhood is quiet, so it didn’t bother us. The second detail to note pertains to tall people. the ceiling on the first floor is low, especially the bathroom. Neither of these detracted from our visit - so we still give this property five stars.

Family Vacation 2022

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Laura’s home. Upon arrival we were greeted by Joanne who gave us an overview of the property. The home was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and there’s great water pressure in the showers. This house has 2 floors, but you can only enter each from the outside. This wasn’t a problem for us, because my adult children had plenty of room in the lower level. There is a full kitchen in the upper level. The lower level doesn’t have a stove, but there is a microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator. I appreciated having use of the washer/dryer. We spent a lot of time in the dockhouse. It was a great place to eat together, play games and watch my youngest son fish. Lots of wonderful memories were made! My daughter was surprised by a proposal from her boyfriend on the trip. It was truly a wonderful week. I received a call from Joanne shortly after we returned home to let me know an earring had been found. She was nice enough to mail it back. I appreciated that kind gesture.

Loved the Dockhouse but beware of the boat ramp at low tide.

This property has two separate levels that are not connected except from the outside so your group will be separated. Also, there is a boat ramp on property that was not disclosed. This is a huge problem when it’s low tide and leaves the marsh with nothing but pluff mud especially when dogs are concerned. Couches are white and owner is VERY particular which caused extra stress with dogs. Another thing, bring your own towels. The owner supplied 3 beach towels for a party of 8 and she seemed upset that we washed her towels. Other than that we had a great time and enjoyed the Crab Shack down the street.

Perfect for our group of 6

We had such a good time! We spent one day in Savannah (short uber away) and the rest of the time enjoying the dock and dock house. Plenty of room for everyone and well stocked.

Adorable!

We had a wonderful time at this property. The Dock House is fabulous! We spent many hours in there relaxing and we enjoyed watching the tide come and go. Shocking - and fascinating - how much the water level changes! There was plenty of time around high tide to go out paddle boarding. The house is clearly a "home" and we enjoyed the inside as well. The stairs being outside was not an issue for our group. We did not use the downstairs kitchen, only the upstairs one and that one was extremely well stocked. Beds and pillows were comfortable and it is very clean. Check in was easy and owners were very responsive. We wanted a place to just relax and be together and this suited perfectly! We just loved the charm of the place.

Wonderful Calming Retreat

This property is huge and beautiful! The two split floors with their own bedrooms and kitchen/kitchenette were great spaces to spend some alone time when needed, and the boathouse was a fabulous space to be together as well! The whole property was clean and beautifully decorated. Communication was easy and we had no problems at all. All in all, a fabulous stay!
