The main home has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, while the additional guest cottage (not attached to the home) is efficiency style with 1 full bed, 1 twin bed and a 1/2 bath with an outside shower. The property is cottage style with central air conditioning, a fully equip kitchen with dishwasher, washer dryer, deck with furniture sand 6 person hot tub, and has a large yard fenced from the road that is ideal for family gatherings. The home is walking distance to the Point Judith Lighthouse, the beach, surfing areas, a fishing pier, boat launch for kayaks, canoes, jet skis, etc. Within a minutes drive are restaurants, ice cream, and nightlife. The back guest cottage is only available for use May through October. Sheets and towels are at the house for guest’s convenience- there is NO laundry service, guests are responsible for washing and drying all linens that they use prior to departure. Close to the beach!

Great location with easy access to Camp Cronin beach with great views, long jetty you can walk out on, and sandy beach. Point Judith lighthouse is a 5 minute walk. Nice hikes up in Narraganset.

Perfect for us

Our stay was terrific. We appreciated the owners rushing to get the hot tub installed in time for our stay. It was fun to take a hot tub in the middle of a snowstorm!

Great location, would plan better next time

The location of this house is great. Close to the lighthouse and beach and even in winter with snow this was a fantastic location. The owners alerted ahead of time, but the hot tub was not functional while we were there which was disappointing. But what can you do?Overall, it felt that the house had its care was out of season. The Wi-Fi initially wasn’t on so the tv didn’t work, which in the winter is a good thing to have working. We had to do a sweep and clean of the house upon arrival and the beds were not made which we discovered is because of the house policy that renters are to wash, dry, and fold all the bedding and any other linens used before checkout. The washer and dryer were both going quite slow the day we were leaving, we contacted the owners and had to do a late check out to finish. Which delayed our 8 hour drive home. Now that we have a better idea of what to expect, we would come back but plan differently for the trip.

Relaxing and suberb location

Thank you hosts for a wonderful stay! Your beach house is charming in its own way, and we just loved the sunrise, moonrise and closeness to/views of Point Judith lighthouse every single day/night with deer abounding, and added feature of the hot tub! It was so relaxing. With that said I think it warrants mentioning that expecting guests to wash their own linens is unreasonable and unsanitary. We left before dawn for the airport. How many guests do you think really get up early enough, as we did, to do wash/dry/fold sheets /towels? Something to consider. Thank you again!

No sandy beach

There was no sandy beach within walking distance. We took our dog but the property was not fenced in so we had to keep him tied up. We went across the street to the fishing waters and he enjoyed that. The hot tub was excellent. Our stay was nice. Couldn't get near the. Lighthouse

Location, location!

My family and I had an incredible vacation here! The location of this home is spectacular!! What made our trip even better is being able to bring our two dogs and the large, clean yard as well as the dog beach across the street from the house! We spent a lot of time in the hot tub with views of the ocean! Also any time I contacted the host, I received a prompt response. Look forward to coming back here next year!

Winter Getaway

The location is perfect to walk across the street to the beach and jetty. The lighthouse is down the road on the right. We appreciated bringing our dog. The hot tub was excellent. Thank you for hosting us.

Great location and we enjoyed our mini vacation!

The only complaint I have is that I had to clean up the yard from the previous renters dog. As I also had a dog and cleaned up every time alone with what was left before us! Please if you have a dog clean up after it and not give responsible dog owners a bad name!

Perfect getaway

This house was the perfect getaway spot for my husband and I. Loved the location and enjoyed the hot tub with the view of the light house each night. Perfect size for 2- 4, would work for 6. I think more would be tight. I wish the guest cottage had a small table and chairs instead of a second bed. The owner was very responsive. Looking forward to our next stay!!

A relaxing getaway

This property was what we were hoping for, relaxing, comfortable, roomy, near the water, away from neighbors, washed with sunlight. We didnt cook ( i was on vacation, after all) but the kitchen looked well equipped. Loved sitting on the deck, reading, and looking up to see the resident rabbit. If i could change one thing, it would be to wish the cable TV options were better. Probably not first on the list if you are spending the day at the beach, but that wasnt us. I would happily rent here again

Nice location

The house is great for a few day getaway. It’s located in walking distance to the lighthouse and across the street from a fishing pier with beach. The house has a great yard for playing with kids. The inside of the house could use a little TLC (baseboards could be cleaned, pillows replaced, heavier blankets for winter/spring guests, chairs should be checked, shower curtains cleaned or replaced), but was fine for a few days. We did observed at least 2 broken kitchen chairs and one patio chair to be broken upon arrival; we did not report these since we were only 4 people.

Perfect Beach Cottage

We loved this little beach cottage! It was the perfect size for me and my boyfriend. Check-in was simple and communication was great with the owners. It was clearly cleaned prior to our arrival which I was happy about, especially during covid. We loved the location being able to see the ocean, lighthouse, and Pell Bridge, as well as being across the street from fisherman’s memorial. We walked over there a couple mornings and mediated on the rocks. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. If you’re planning on cooking a few nights, definitely be sure to bring your own spices. We absolutely loved the jacuzzi and found it easy to work. Our favorite part was all of the natural light that poured in through the windows every morning. We will definitely be back this summer to enjoy the beach!

Getaway

Check-in was very easy. When we walked into the house you can tell it had been cleaned thoroughly before we arrived. I found the home to be very cozy. I appreciated that anything you needed was readily available, as well as what was available in the shed as long as you put things back where they belonged, I think that is a very reasonable request. I loved the location. I disagree with the review about the hedges, they provide privacy and you can absolutely see the ocean in more than one spot as well as having a clear view of the lighthouse. I loved how close the property was to the beach. I loved that the owners don’t hover over you for your vacation but are literally a phone call away if you needed anything at all. We will definitely be back, Emily let me know when it’s time that I can block off the same week-thanks for everything, Christina

Spectacular long weekend

The house is small but definitely big enough for the 3 of us and 2 dogs. The place was clean and the location was spectacular. Comfortable beds and the yard was great for the dogs and humans as well. I read the reviews so I brought all my needed items for cooking. Gas stove and oven. 3 of the 4 burners needed to be lit manually. We enjoyed the hot tub. The owner has several areas on their property with cameras, just fyi:-) The area really is so beautiful. We enjoyed going across the street and walking at the ocean. There were several surfers there. The lighthouse is right down the street with a nice little park. We had daily deer visitations in the yard. About a half an hour to downtown Newport and we enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The showers had good water pressure but the water does not get hot but it’s definitely warm. Not complaining, just saying. We have been visiting this area for 5 years this time of year and this is our overall favorite. Location is 5 stars. Thanks Chuck and Emily for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us!

Good Location, house needs a little attention.

The location is excellent, assuming you like to be right across the street from a beach, which we do. The house was adequate for our needs and being right across the street from the Fisherman's Memorial was wonderful. Unfortunately the house was not as clean as we would have liked. When we arrived the previous tenants had left all of their unwrapped garbage in the garbage cans in the driveway and garbage was strewn about the driveway. Not surprisingly animals got into the garbage that night. Additionally the interior of the house felt as though it had not been cleaned. Counters and other surfaces clearly had not been cleaned and there was sand on the furniture. The windowsills literally had dirt in them, like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. It was clear to us that no cleaning crew had been in the house between the previous tenants and us. I will point out however that the owners were very responsive when we called them to let them know about the garbage. It was cleaned up the very next morning. We are long-time vacationers in Narragansett and we love it and as I said the location of the house was great. The house itself definitely needs a little TLC, I do feel it was a little over-priced for what it is. With a little attention this could be a very nice place to stay and worth the weekly rental fee.

MANSFIELD VACA

The Location is wonderful being so close to the Light House and beach. I was hoping to be able to see the water from the house but unfortunately the shed and huge hedge pretty much block the beautiful view. The Yard is great but I'd chop the hedges and move the shed. The house was comfortable and cute but so many little things added up to disappointment. Just a few of them , broken deck umbrella, thank goodness we brought our own, no working electric outlets in the guest house and a huge useless ugly refridge blocking the window and airflow in the room without A/C . Just get rid of it. The House was clean enough for a beach house except for the floors , we had a crawling baby so had to go out and purchase a mop since there was none at the house. We cooked in and it was really nice that they had a Lobster pot with propane tank outside for Lobster Party which is a must at the beach. The gas grill was also nice. The kitchen was stocked with enough of what you needed , nothing fancy but acceptable, utensils, plates cookware etc which was great. No Complaints there . We are used to going to the beach in North Carolina and you do get way more for your money down south and the homes are newer, but now that we have a baby in the family we no longer want to drive that far. I do Love the Rhode Island Beach Vib though and plan to come back next year, but probably not to this house. Overall I thought this house was a little expensive for what we got but like I said I am used the North Carolina prices. Over All we had a great Family Vacation at the Beach.

Horrible description of place

First we check in and the lock box was so hard to open, but after 5 min freezing and pitch dark as we are trying to open it the lock box finally got in. The place was not like the pictures. Smell was nasty , Dog hair all over the place it was so gross. Couches , beds and all over the floors and hair in the bathtubs , wall were in terrible condition, and the bedroom had make shift old left over tables not dressers. Let’s talk about this dirty sayings couch that is clearly not a couch that the cushions don’t fit. Back breaker. We had to clean and sanitize everything bc it was clearly not cleaned . As for no refunds that to me is ridiculous. When i chatted with the host they were rude as can be. bc i put one guest and staying why did i say we and i go i booked not pressing it and then she or he states how do they know i am not 20 people . Really ! I question the house cleanliness and u are asking if i am 20 people we are family people and why should we clean it’s should be cleaned so don’t state it on your site things are cleaned . Ridiculous We left there sneezing and grossed out. The only good thing is nice land, lighthouse , water but other then that’s hell no! I made a complaint to them and vrbo asking for partial refund and the owners had nothing to say. I will never rent from them again and i use vrbo a lot and this was a bad one. I have pictures to show the mess. I am disputing the charges. Very unhappy we were. I think this place is more for them to make money and they don’t care about it. It would be so much nicer if they would put money into this house updating , changing furniture, scrubbing it down and a little paint will help this house . It’s a shame it’s so run down. Oh not to mention cottage. I wasn’t using it but curios that is not a cottage it’s a shed. Scary by far most. So don’t say cottage say 2 by 4 storage area. I

Cute beach cottage in great location

Overall we had a nice week at this property, our first time in RI for a week-long beach vacation. The location can’t be beat! Amazing views of the Pt Judith lighthouse and the ocean from the spacious and well-kept back yard. If you are staying with a dog (as we did), there is a dog friendly beach literally across the street from the driveway. Right down the road are great food/ice cream spots and within a 15-minute drive, there are tons of delicious restaurants (we favored The Coast Guard House). Also within a 5-minute drive is the lovely Roger Wheeler beach, which is spectacular for kids and families in general. I could go on and on, but simply put- the location of this home made our week super enjoyable! The owners were very responsive. They checked in on us when we didn’t arrive until later in the day on our scheduled day of arrival. They also responded immediately and remedied the cable issue we experienced with the living room tv. No complaints whatsoever. Very nice and responsive home owners! The house itself gets the job done for a small family. It suited our needs of two adults, two toddlers, and a Labrador retriever. The cleanliness of the property was ok- nothing glaring dirty, just overall pretty run down. The furniture has been thoroughly used but is functional. The kitchen is stocked with just enough to do some light cooking, but plenty of dishes/cups/utensils. We noticed an increasing number of ants active in the kitchen and dining table area. These guys are pretty typical for this time of year and are just annoying, so not a big deal. Just noted. What disturbed us the most, which we weren’t expecting, were the amount of ticks present. In one day alone, we found 3: one on me, one on our dog, and one crawling on bedroom furniture. Another day, we found one crawling on the wall in the living room. This is obviously not at all the fault of the property owners, it just disturbed us for the remainder of our trip (we started finding ticks on day two of the trip). As a mom of two toddlers, I probably would not have chosen to vacation in this particular location had I known that we would have to worry about ticks. For us, this was a big deal, but may not be a worry for other people. So don’t base your choice to stay at this home because of our preference. Just be aware that there are a lot of ticks and then you will be ready for vigilant tick checks/spray/etc. Overall, the location can’t be beat and homeowners are very nice!

We have lived in the area all of our lives and bought Ocean Rd as our first house. We were married at the beach across the street from the home and had our wedding reception for 160 in the yard, a lobster bake of course! We lived in the cottage until we outgrew it, and our 4 children now enjoy selling lemonade in between weekly rentals in the driveway where it all began.
