About this property

Well Appointed House on a Secluded Sandy Beach Cove - West Shore - Sebago Lake

This very spacious, centrally heated three bedroom house is 60 feet from the lake with lawn opening onto a secluded sandy beach cove. In the Fall, it is very private with vivid colors and spectacular views of the ever changing Sebago Lake. Two Kayaks are included in the rental

The living area has an open layout: living area (working fireplace) - dining area - well equipped kitchen with dishwasher. There is central heating, pine floors and paneling throughout. We supply bed linens. Master bedroom has queen-sized bed, and the two other bedrooms have twins. The living area has a sectional couch and one queen sized futon. The bathroom has a shower tub that is great for bathing toddlers. Also a utility bath and washer/dryer on the ground floor. A gas grill, fire pit and picnic table are provided on the patio. Cable and wireless hi-speed internet connection are included. Maximum occupancy of 8 persons

September and October is the best kept secret at Sebago Lake. Warm days and cool nights and very quiet. In September, the lake is still warm enough for swimming. The leaves begin to turn and scenery is beautiful. A great time for hiking, kayaking, golfing, or just relaxing in the sunshine on the beach with a book or in front of the fireplace in at night. You can even watch the eagles nesting on outer island (1/4 mile away by boat or kayak) or fish for the small mouthed bass off the rocks in the cove as well as land locked salmon and lake trout further out.

It is 45 minutes from Shawnee Peak; 1 hr from North Conway NH shopping and the White Mountains.

As we have many repeat renters each year to whom we give first preference, we do not know availability for July and August 2020 until December of this year.

Great Location
We love coming to this lake house. It’s in a nice quiet cove that seems tucked away from most of the boat traffic on the lake. Perfect for a week away to relax and enjoy some sun and swimming.

Great Retreat
We really enjoyed our stay on Sebago at the Lake House! It was a cozy cottage with a rustic feel of camp with the amenities of a home. The property was perfect for enjoying the sun on the beach and taking a break from the sun up on the lawn. We plan to come back again soon!

Family Time at the lake
This is our annual family time :) We love being at the lake and swimming and paddling with plenty of games in the evenings. Couldn’t find a better place to be- the house suits our group and has all that we need. Wonderful view of the water, and the beach is perfect for the kids. Kitchen has a wide variety of gadgets and gizmos. Wish we were still there!

Perfection!
The house is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The windows give you a perfect view of the lake. It’s a super quiet and relaxing part of the lake. The water is crystal clear, and the kids loved the sandy beach. The house is well stocked and thoughtfully decorated to provide lots of seating options. Lizzie was a great host too!

2nd Stay
This was our 2nd time staying at this property. We enjoy the lovely beach with its wonderful view. The cove is quiet and feels nicely tucked away for big Sebago. The house itself has everything you need for a vacation by the lake. Loved the fire pit for making s’mores!

Peaceful
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Weather was fantastic. Enjoyed the privacy of the cottage. The cottage was nicely laid out allowing for young children to move about with eyes on them. I had my first experience with the friendly caterpillars. They left their calling card. Not so nice! The beach was an added treat for the little ones to play.

Nice home with a beautiful view.
This quintessential Maine lake front home has a lovely view of Lake Sebago with a beach right out front. As a bonus, the hosts provide kayaks to get out on the lake. We found the home to be clean and the kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils. The owners, who live near by, were very responsive and welcoming to us. We had a nice visit.

Second stay as good as the first
This was our second summer staying in this house for a week with our daughters family. The grandkids spent the week in the lake swimming and paddling; parents and grandparents trying to keep up with them. We have decided that this is our summer destination- the sandy cove is a perfect spot for our group including kids 4-9. We will be back :)

Early Season
The house was great! Clean, fresh flowers, comfortable beds. Beautiful lake. The beach, which was the main reason we chose this one, not so much. Lots of scat in the grass and sand had not been cleaned from the winter. Also, the dock was misrepresented and not present. Neighbor opened fire at family of Canadian geese, including babies, with a .22. Not cool.

Fabulous Week-Long Getaway
This house was even better than we expected from the photos and description! The view was wonderful and we can’t do it justice with words. We all had a very relaxing time… The grandkids dug in the sand for hours, and we also enjoyed the kayaks every day. We picnicked outside for lunch, and most nights only went in at dinnertime to eat and play games before bed. We enjoyed a fire 2 evenings, and the stone fire pit at the edge of the beach was our favorite. We ate pizza outside from Randy’s Wooster St Pizza (really good!), then made s'mores. The kitchen was well supplied. The beds were comfortable. The large, open living area was spacious for our group to hang out. We are hoping to return next year, and are already making lists for the items we wish we had brought this time!

somewhat mixed experience
beautiful setting right on a great part of Sebago lake; great owners but house has a rodent problem. Lifetime camper and downeaster so no city sissy but the house has mice all over basement and main living quarters. This was likely exasperated by a cold snap that tends to send rodents to seek warmer shelter. That said, the problem was throughout living quarters ( all bedrooms) and clearly needs to be addressed...old building that was clean but in need of fundamental repairs. Basement is extremely moldy.

Fan-friggin-tastic!!!
There’s not enough space here to list all the awesomeness of this cottage. But I’ll try… super big main room for the entire family without being in top of each other. Beds were comfy, kitchen had everything you’d ever need. Brand new Weber grill. The lake level bathroom, shower, and washer dryer was dynamite. Now the lake… there’s very few places you can rent lakefront in Maine with its own private beach! That’s right, a sandy beach. The flat floating swim platform had some surprises. You can lift a small round table up with cup holders, and an umbrella hole! There’s even two adjustable back rests so you can lounge in the swim platform. Never saw this before. There’s a beautiful super friendly chocolate lab that comes by during the day to say hi. We met some of the residents on this private tucked away slice of heaven and they were all so welcoming and friendly. They made you feel like you were part of the neighborhood. We just got back today and already looking forward to renting again.

A truly wonderful getaway
We had such a wonderful time. The house, location & amenities were more than we had hoped for. We all felt comfortable immediately upon entering and were welcomed by a very big & friendly dog, Frye who was later joined by Sugar & Aggie & a couple more, I didn't get the names of, but all were sweet and friendly (you must love dogs to stay here & fortunately, we do) The only issue was the dogs, being dogs, would relieve themselves anywhere they desired and we had to clean up a few times. The lake was gorgeous! Crystal clear and warm. We were in it many times every day. It is the perfect lake atmosphere. I highly recommend water shoes as the entry to the lake is rocky and the sand can get hot on the beach. We were provided with floats & kayaks, that were clean and easily accessible, and we used them a lot. There was plenty of seating inside & out in both sunny and shaded areas. The firepit area was perfect. Although we left our remaining firewood, I recommend grabbing some before you arrive because once you're there, you won't want to leave. But, if you do decide to venture out, we went to a pick your own flower farm in Windham and the causeway in Naples as well as a taco restaurant in Bridgeton. We were there during a very hot weather week. I'm not complaining because I love the warm weather but be sure to bring a fan or two for the main living space. The master bedroom has an a/c unit that cools 2 bedrooms if you keep the bedroom door open and the hall door closed. We were incredibly happy here and hope to return next Summer.

Incredible Stay
We so enjoyed our time at your home. It felt like our home. Very well stocked (could use one or two sharp filet knives) with all that a family could need. We enjoyed the water, the fire pits, the privacy, the sun rises, the views from the living room, the water pressure, the grill, and so much more. The walks down the road, the location close to the state park, etc.... Our dog ran free and we have never seen him so happy!! Cannot say enough great things.

Relaxing Retreat
This rental is a gem. We loved the beach and swimming platform and enjoyed hanging out with the neighborhood dogs (all extremely friendly). The lake was beautiful and pretty quiet for August on Sebago. The cabin had everything we needed and was a great place to relax on the one rainy day we had. Hope to stay here again!

About the host

Hosted by Liz Kelly

Host profile image
My parents bought the original Maine property in 1954, which included a house on the water and a guest house behind it up on a hill overlooking the lake. My brothers and I had the opportunity to buy a large amount of contiguous property around the original homestead in 1977, including Lone Pine. We live full time in a home that we built that is adjacent to it on the cove. We take pride in the way we have appointed Lone Pine and continually upgrade it.

Why they chose this property

This house is within a family compound owned by myself and my two brothers. Lone Pine is directly on our sandy beach cove and is wonderful for small children as well as adults.
