The cabin was just what we hoped for. It was very quiet and comforting. We loved the view from the deck and the small river made it feel like a piece of paradise. Will be coming back for another stay.
This is a wonderful location. The view is amazing. Everything was very nice. Everything was clean if you’re looking for a nice getaway in the country this is it!
This property was honestly one of the best Vrbo we have ever been in. We were welcomed so warmly by these hosts and were allowed to bring our bigger dogs for our stay. The house was in wonderful condition and I had all the amenities of a normal home. We stayed on one of the coldest nights this winter so far and we were totally comfortable. Instructions are easy for the home and was in a very private peaceful neighborhood. We could see every star and the only sounds at night or the following snow and the river flowing. Coming from a big city we were happy to get away and this was our perfect spot. We plan on coming back multiple times. I want to thank our kind host for such an amazing opportunity.
It was really nice. The fireplace was great, the chairs were comfortable, nice view from the deck and in a quiet area. Also had a very accommodating kitchen.
It was very peaceful and quiet. A simple little place. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time, so we didn't get to spend time outside, although it would have been nice with the deck and area next to the river.

Quick weekend stay
Cabin was very clean and welcoming, really enjoyed relaxing on the porch and enjoying the fireplace!
Great place near areas I wanted to do some bird hunting. Very clean, as described, nice neighbor to one side. I enjoyed my stay and would happily book again.
Cabin was very clean and well organized. All essentials (pans, dishes, flatware, paper products, etc.) Were provided.
Very unique, albeit, isolated location which worked quite well for my adult Son and I to kick back a bit between rounds of "chasing" Salmon on the Manistee and Pere Marquette.
No WiFi/Internet and NO cell coverage (AT&T specifically) made it a bit difficult to plan fishing spots and obtain maps, weather, and other vital information.
Great satellite TV service helped with keeping up on vital info and college football games.
This property is exactly what the title says it is and exactly what I was looking for. "Quiet Cabin Setting on small river". The decor is very well done, cabin-y without being overdone. The back deck, facing woods and a small stream was where I spent most of my time, reading a book. There was NO Wi-fi, which is what I was looking for, but I was happy to discover that I had decent service with T-mobile, so not completely isolated. Although this definitely feels like you are alone in the woods, there are a few neighbors, not necessarily visible but you can hear them when each of you are out on the deck. I highly recommend this as a quiet place to get away and get disconnected. Bring a book, make a pot of coffee and RELAX!

Better for someone else?
The unit would be best enjoyed by someone who does not mind very warm summer sleeping conditions, or disruptive neighbors.
So a cooler weather visit where you are not hanging out at the house?
There really is not WI-FI, or phone coverage here, we knew that and kinda enjoyed that aspect.
We found that the place is very warm, the temperature cant be set to lower then 70, which means it is 70 in the kitchen and upper 70,s in the bed rooms.
The small bed room is very loud when the AC does finally kick back on.
We lost power our last night there, so no water, ac, or lights capped off a very forgettable stay.
If you go planning to cool off in the creek know there may be a uncontrollable bratty girl next door that will kinda ruin your outdoor time, and a a dog named Babes that also ruined the expected peace of this place.
There is also an extraordinary bright light on the neighbors house that blinds you if you want to hang out around a camp fire.
Overall, rather disappointing for a young family of 4 looking to get someplace quiet and private because this place was neither.
My partner and I enjoyed our stay immensely, we can’t wait to come back! The patio set-up, including all of the outdoor furniture, was so comfortable and perfect for enjoying the beautiful surroundings! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans for cooking, which was a huge plus! The beds were both comfortable, as well! Neither of us had cell service at the location, which didn’t bother us; it would’ve been nice to know there wasn’t WiFi at the property, but other than that, I couldn’t recommend it enough!
We truly enjoy the birding, quiet large deck, pet-friendly house and did I say QUIET? This is our third year renting this property and we will be back again in 2025! Thank you for another great year!

After we checked in we were told there was no hot water due to a leak at the propane tank. The host offered to compensate us for the issue so we stayed. After a couple days of cold showers the LP company showed up and I let them in to test and cycle the furnace and hot water heater. I informed the host and asked what the compensation would be but received no further communication from the host. There was something terribly smelly spilled in the bottom of the oven that stunk the whole cabin up when we baked something. Not someplace we would stay again.
Overall, we really enjoyed the property. It was clean and everything worked. Prior issues of other guests regarding the lawn and the tv had been addressed. Listing should note that the second bedroom is not closed off from the main bedroom. (the hvac unit is right next to the bed and quite loud in the second bedroom). As noted by others, there are steps up into the kitchen and down into the main bedroom. But the deck was lovely, the area is very quiet, and the dark skies were amazing. Even got to see some meteors. Our cell reception was spotty but we brought a StarLink. Google Maps will dump you off at the wrong red cottage - a helpful neighbor directed us farther down the road.
The driving directions and entry details were easy to follow. When we arrived, the space was clean and cozy. It wasn't quite as secluded as we had thought, as there are neighbors. The guy stopped over to ask how long we were staying as he wanted to use his chainsaw to chop wood. He was friendly enough and we appreciated the consideration. We overheard his wife on the phone while we were sitting on the deck, but it was otherwise pretty peaceful. We enjoyed the lovely views and appreciated the kitchen being stocked with pans, dishes, cutlery, etc. I'd happily recommend this space to a friend, it was a nice stay :)
The property was lovely located on a Sandy stream and surrounded by trees. A large rear deck included dining area and seating area with gas fire pit and a gas grill. Living room had a beautiful stone fireplace and comfortable leather sofa and 2 reclining chairs.2 large screen tvs - one in living area hooked up to DISH and one in bedroom for dvd’s etc. There was also a smaller second bedroom. We love to read so not having great Wi-Fi didn’t bother us too much. Interestingly we could receive calls and texts but sending them didn’t work very well. We enjoyed driving around the area and eating homemade ice cream in Baldwin. We would definitely come back in the future.
Had a great time at this nice and quiet BnB, only problem was is that I didn't want to leave. This place was very clean, also great communication with the host. No cell phone service or WiFi which wasn’t a problem for me but for some people it would be. I booked my trip for fly fishing and this BnB is in a great location with a lot of streams near by. I definitely recommend this place and host.
My stay here was perfect. I will only say the ants were pretty bad during this time. Also, I should have noticed the no Wi-Fi part. I had no service and Wi-Fi would have been nice but it was my fault not double checking the amenities. It was a beautiful quiet place over all!

Inside great outside not too good
This was our second stay. We love the location and the house. We especially love the enclosed huge deck that is so nice for our dog. The house suits our needs perfectly. Our disappointment came with the state of the yard. It looks like it hasn’t been mowed in weeks, with the grass well over a foot tall. Last visit we loved taking our dog down to the river and sitting at the fire pit. This time we killed multiple ticks just sitting on the deck. We didn’t dare risk walking through the tall grass to the river for fear of ticks on ourselves and the dog. I’m really hoping this is just a bump in the road of changing management, as we would like to continue coming every year. We plan to come back, but with our fingers crossed regarding the yard. Otherwise we love it here!
