Great house for Fall Break vacation

We stayed at Inn Recess during our daughter’s 2024 Fall Break. The house was as depicted in the listing; great location/proximity to Cashiers, spacious, clean, well appointed, and fantastic views. We appreciated that it is in a gated community and that its driveway is easily accessible with room for several cars (not always a given in this mountainous area). The property manager was very communicative - which was no small feat because she was still recovering from Hurricane Helene coming through the prior week - and check in was a breeze. Our only negative for the house was that you could hear cars driving by on the nearby road in the two rooms at the back of the house. But that doesn’t take away from this being a great property overall!

Could have been 4 stars but had a major problem

I would have given it 4 stars if not for some minor issues and an extremely major few issues. Minor issues - master toilet was continually running (I fixed it), no water all day one day (no fault of homeowner it was community), master bed was so hard it was uncomfortable so much so that my wife slept with the kids upstairs every night! But the MAJOR issues were: 1) I was working at the house in a video call and their bug guy unlocks their door and comes in while me and my kids are in the house?!? That is totally unacceptable but not his fault he didn’t know anyone was there / this is the property manager and homeowner fault. But far worse was that same day we can home from dinner and someone had REMOTELY activated the alarm so it went off as soon as we went in the house. It was so LOUD that we had to stand outside in the freezing cold. What is worse is that they only provided the property managers phone number who would not answer the phone after hours. I called repeatedly. I called fire department and they couldn’t help. Then police. Finally after an HOUR the police came and somehow turned off the alarm. The property manager called me an HOUR after I repeatedly called saying it was an emergency. My kids were screaming and everyone was stressed and the property manager proceeds to grill ME about whether I activated the alarm? How would I do that I don’t even have the code?!? Then she asked me the same question AGAIN and I said don’t ask me that again and SHE HANGS up on me!
