About this property

Forever views from HOT TUB overlooking Kenai National Wildlife Refuge near river

EXCLUSIVE VIEW PROPERTY! LARGE, CUSTOM POST & BEAM HOME OVERLOOKING KENAI NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. 14 YEARS IN OPERATION WITH 100% FIVE STAR REVIEWS. PERFECT FOR LARGE FAMILY/FRIEND GROUPS. HOT TUB ON DECK WITH FOREVER VIEWS.

Raven's Bluff House is unique among properties in the central Kenai Peninsula. With 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, two full kitchen/living areas, a large deck and outdoor lawn area, your group will have plenty of space to relax, gather, rest, and recharge in the Alaska wilderness.

An architectural gem, this custom-built post and beam home boasts 30 ft vaulted ceilings...making the view inside the home a perfect compliment to the vast and spectacular vista outside. There is simply no better view in the area...guests often comment that the pictures do not do it justice, and frankly, it's just not possible to capture what awaits you. Many guests say they loved the home so much they wished they'd planned less sightseeing trips and just spent more time at this unique property. We are proud of our 11 year history in business and our 5 STAR guest review streak over that entire period. We've taken great feedback from our guests and every year make an investment in improving Raven's Bluff in any way we can to make sure our guests have a wonderful vacation.

Many upgrades have been made to the house in the last few years, including high-end kitchen appliances, a 6-person hot tub on the deck, new lighting, quality furniture and bedding/towels, large smart TVs, heating systems, ceiling fans, landscaping, new roofs, rooftop solar, new Anderson doors and windows, custom blackout blinds, and every kitchen gadget imaginable including new Nespresso machines in each kitchen.

Raven's Bluff House has two separate units, the upper which has 3 bedrooms/2 baths and the lower (Bear Den) which has 2 bedrooms/1 bath. They are not connected internally and you'll need to access through an outside door, which allows for great privacy for larger groups.

Alaska is a wonderland of natural beauty and amazing resources, which our family has spent generations protecting through conservation efforts. We welcome you to our vacation home where you too can become a 'Sourdough' and share in this unique experience. The home is available year round. Winter travelers will be rewarded with an incredible show of colorful northern lights and millions of stars in the dark Arctic night. Nearby winter activities include cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and hot beverage drinking! Summer guests will be rewarded with midnight sun, vast and expansive views, solitude, wildlife, and world-class salmon and halibut fishing.

The house is centrally located in Sterling which makes day trips to both Homer and Seward possible for touring both Kachamak and Resurrection Bays with their incredible wildlife, fishing, shopping and history.

Multi-generational families taking their once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska will especially appreciate this property. The house comfortably sleeps 10 people but if you have a larger group, the Bird's Nest in-law apartment is located on the same property and is a lovely 1 bedroom 1 bath home nestled among the trees with incredible mountain views from the deck. Inquire if you'd like to rent both properties...The Bird's Nest is also listed on VRBO.

Such a lovely stay. The host could not have been more helpful. The house itself is beautiful with many amenities including an awesome fireplace with a well-stocked arsenal of wood. The view from the backyard was impeccable. Could not have dreamed of a better place to stay!

Stellar

The home was fantastic. The caretaker was wonderful. We did not have any major needs while we were there but he was always sure to check on us! There was s’more makings on the counter for the kids, fishing gear, coolers, bikes, and almost anything you could need in the kitchen including tons of spices/seasonings! Highly recommend this property! From young to old, our entire group had a great time here!

Fantastic Place

We had high hopes for this place, and it did not disappoint. The location is convenient as a home base for the entire Kenai Peninsula, it was clean and well stocked Juniper and her staff were very accommodating. I would suggest this place to anyone wanting to explore the Kenai Peninsula.

Beautiful property

The house was very nice and Sharon was very helpful with any questions we had. The backyard deck was really nice and there was a Weber grill which we used for some dinners. There were plenty of kitchenware and we enjoyed eating at the house versus restaurants.

Excellent home base with lots of space and luxury touches

From booking to after checkout, the homeowner and caretaker were very helpful and communicative. The view is exactly as represented, which is gorgeous. Kitchen is well-supplied. The location feels secluded but is very accessible to activities, stores, and restaurants.

Perfect Getaway for Our Family

We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary with a trip to Alaska with our family. There were 10 of us in all ranging in age from 10 to 77. While on the Kenai Peninsula we were busy daily with fishing, floating the river, a wildlife cruise, and hiking. But as my son-in-law says, it was staying at Raven’s Bluff House that really made the trip. If we’d stayed in a lodge or even another VRBO, it just wouldn’t have been the same experience. The grounds were spacious and had everything we could possibly want—a fire pit, beautiful deck with hot tub, some fishing equipment, bikes, etc. The kitchen was well appointed and had plenty of everything so we didn’t have to keep washing silverware and glasses, etc. The caretakers, Paul and Sheila, live in a cabin nearby and it was nice to know they were nearby if we had questions or needed anything. It is obvious that they take pride in maintaining the cabin to the highest standards.

Loved this place

We absolutely loved this place. We even had a moose and her baby go past the deck one night. The internet is the only thing that doesn't work very well, but you are on vacation in the middle of the wilderness, so that is to be expected. You couldn't find a nicer place, and they do everything to make your trip special. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Amazing House

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. The attention to details was second to none. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. The location was great because you can travel to Soldotna and Cooper Landing pretty easily. Also, with the new 3 Bears Opening, a grocery store is really close now. Thanks again Desiree and Juniper!

Peaceful retreat with stunning views!

We loved Raven's Bluff House! Central to Homer and Seward (2 hour drives) as a home base, we could come back after a day of adventure and relax in the hot tub and enjoy the mountain / glacier views. Plenty of outdoors gear was available too. Check out our house review on Kovaction at YouTube! Search #kovaction and look for the red flying K.

Relaxing retreat with beautiful mountain view

Our family of eight traveled to the Kenai peninsula to experience fishing during the salmon run. We chose this place to stay because of its location, its size, the hot tub and the beautiful mountain view. We were not disappointed!! What a great property! We were pleasantly surprised to find the property equipped with additional fishing equipment, a fully equipped kitchen, a deep freeze to store all of our fish. We could not have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend.

Multi generation

We loved Alaska Mountain view cabins and the location was perfect. We had 11 people, three generations ranging from 7-77 and rented the entire house and loved everything about it, especially the fire pit, kitchen and deck. The home is beautifully constructed and enjoyable to be in. It was centrally located on the Kenai peninsula and we were able to do day trips to Seward, Homer and went several times to Cooper's landing. Grocery store and restaurants were close. Everyone we encountered in Alaska was very friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous Views

This is a spectacular vacation rental. The listing is spot on. All the amenities are exactly as promised. The beds are super comfortable. There were 8 of us age 18 to 87 and the property met the needs of everyone. The location is beautiful, quiet, views; but not too far from everything in Soldatna. The owner provided lots of good information before our arrival on activities and restaurants. The on site caretaker was very responsive to any questions or needs during our stay. I would definitely rent this property again. We hated to leave!

Everything you need...relaxation

This cabin is too nice...we enjoyed our stay and everything was made easy with the perfect amount of space, all the amenities, etc... The cabin in itself is above average, it is a quiet area, kitchen is stocked with all utensils, nice backyard area with fire pit. It's just everything you need and expect...a nice clean cabin, relaxing, plenty of space inside and out, private, and priced right. We'll be back next year... P.S. - I love how the dirty towels just disappear while we are gone during the day...

3rd Time is a Charm...Again

This was my 3rd time staying with you and it just keeps getting better and better. This has become my "Alaska Home" and I could not ask for a better place to be. Your hospitality is superb, the accommodations first class + and the location and view are truly spectacular. We had a great time on the river and the fishing was exciting as usual. Sure was nice to come back to the lodge after a cold day on the river and walk around with our socks on and feel the warmth of the radiant floor heat warming our toes. Mahalo Juniper for your graciousness and courtesy.

Really awesome house and location

We really had a great time at this property. Juniper was amazingly accommodating for our trip which required multiple revisions to our reservation. The house is large and has everything you could need. Great new hot tub. Amazing nighttime views. The main house was perfect for our family of five including 3 adult kids, 21 through 25. Juniper allowed us to use her fishing gear and we caught a our own batch of sockeye salmon at the nearby river, and we are totally unskilled at fishing. We cooked them up using the grill at the the house! House is secluded but safe and short drive to town with all amenities. No question that I would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Fishing trip with 13 guys

The property was perfect for our group. We rented all three units Raven's Bluff main house, Bear Den, and Birds next. This gave us plenty of room for 13 guys on our fishing trip. The main house is very nice and the kitchen is well stocked with every detail covered. It was very convenient to store all our fishing gear at the outside covered pavilion and picnic table. The house is very close to Morgan's Landing and a short drive to most of the other Sockeye hotspots. The outside living spaces were very nice... from the many decks and fire pit we had a great few of the mountains. Also, a high end Weber grill on the deck was very handy.

Paradise on the Kenai Peninsula

We had an incredible week on the Kenai Peninsula. We had the opportunity to fish, hike, see TONS of wildlife like bears and moose, and no matter what the day brought, we always could come home and enjoy the amazing accommodations that this magical place has to offer. This space is clean, comfortable, and has incredible views and an amazing yard. Plenty of room for activities, games, dinner on the deck, and the hot tub was also amazing. The property management team is so quick to respond and to help with anything that you might need. Kitchen is fully stocked with literally anything and everything you could think of. They also have tons of extras like bikes, waders, fishing stuff. Very awesome! Thank you so much for our stay!

Raised in Alaska...this property was our family homestead. We lived a subsistance lifestyle here...which I didn't fully appreciate until I was grown up! Now I live and work overseas, but Alaska, and this property, will always be our home. I work in international conservation, and growing up in Alaska gave me a real appreciation for protecting our planet's most amazing natural places...this area being one of them!

Why they chose this property

There is no place like this in the whole world. We love coming home from our work overseas to this special house and tranquil setting. I've worked in conservation in some of the most incredible landscapes in Africa and Asia, and this property, situated near both State and Federal protected lands, rivals any of the world class conservation areas I've visited.

What makes this property unique

We love to BBQ on the large back deck, overlooking the forest and distant mountain range. Nothing but trees for hundreds of miles! What a view! The birdsong in the morning, while enjoying coffee on the deck, is another favorite time of the day for me. Spending time at Raven's Bluff House is a great way to relax and just reconnect with your family in a quiet and peaceful place in one of the great natural ecosystems in the world.
