I can't wait to return

We were very impressed by how thoughtfully furnished the property is; they have provided well for their guests. We also noted how very, very clean everything was. My (tall) husband even remarked that the top of the refrigerator was very clean, which he tells me is not common. Lots of information was provided about activities and restaurants. The hosts were very responsive to the few things we needed help with. The location was great as we could walk to the park on the bayfront and to downtown restaurants. It is also a lovely neighborhood with lots of interesting houses. It was very quiet at night and we felt very safe. I highly recommend this rental.

Lovely visit

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was excellent. We could walk downtown and enjoy restaurants and museums. The apartment was well equipped and we had a new grill! Every request was immediately attended to and in every case Jennifer and Brian were most gracious. I loved the peace and quiet. It’s a very special neighborhood.

Cute as a Button in a great location but with vibe of annual renter for the price

Loved the property and location. No detail left out... this little cottage is cute as a button and the owners thought of everything a vacationer would need and then some! Very beautiful, clean, and generous with the accommodations. Owners were also very responsive. Even responded around 11:00 pm one Saturday when I was having trouble with the living room TV remote. For the price, the location is great except a bit of a sketchy property one block west... what looks like an abandoned old church, but it is not even visible from the back access of this property. The reason for the 4 stars is that the owners were not very willing to work with me when it came circumstances outside my power and were very rigid. They gave off the vibe and feeling that I was a long term renter and not paying double what a regular months rent would be to stay there. I booked a month out and a couple weeks prior to my stay, we discussed the possibility of extending past one month. Jennifer let me know that there might be someone coming in after me. That person never booked and I had some family issues come up where I had to go to NC prior to my checking in and asked if I could change my stay dates and come 5 days later and stay 5 days longer since they didn't have anyone coming. They would not accommodate this request which was fine. However, towards the end of my stay, a rodent problem developed (which is not their fault and not even the reason for the 4 stars) and also a termite and wasp issue which I let them know about. The kicker really was that hurricane Ian was approaching and I had to evacuate and even then with having to cut my stay 5 days even shorter, they would not offer any kind of discounted rate and I was only really there collectively about 2 weeks. It's a cute place, but maybe not worth the price for what you get and no budging if you have anything unexpected come up. Not sure I would spend that type of money again for this place even though I really liked it and felt very homey on the inside... the vibe from the owners was just not that

Great Cottage in Historic St. Pete

Extremely clean and well maintained. The hosts responded immediately to a slight issue with the door that turned out to be user error ;-) Very nice, picturesque parks with a view of the water within 6 blocks as well as a great downtown area with lots of cool restaurants and museums. Loved the walkability and the nice yard for the dog.

Fantastic hosts!

Jennifer and Brian were great hosts who have a fantastic setup in the historic old northeast section of St Pete. They communicated throughout the process, provided some great recommendations, and were happy to accommodate us and our two dogs. We will definitely hope to rebook the next time we’re in the area!

Perfect vacation spot

This was the best VRBO stay my family and I have taken. The owner had great communication and provided guides on local restaurants and things to do. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. The location was close to downtown St Pete and easy driving to Gulf and Bay Area beaches. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with a well-stocked kitchen and fast wi-fi. We’ll be returning in the future!

Very convenient and livable unit

Jennifer and Brian do a great job of maintaining this unit. It has everything you need for your stay and is very clean. They also respond quickly to any problems and for us that wa s tv and ac. Tv accessible within minutes and ac in a few hours. It has a cute porch and patio with no real view but it’s quiet and comfortable. We walked and biked everywhere including downtown, museums, parks, waterfront, swimming, tennis, movies, shopping, etc. Old northeast is a quaint neighborhood that is shaded, safe, and highly walkable. Beaches are a 20 minute drive but there is one small beach within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay. It is as pictured.

Cottage Oasis

We had a wonderful week in St. Pete. This neighborhood is so close to everything we love about St Pete. We were able to walk to downtown where there are a ton of things to do. We rented bikes , caught a wonderful Jazz concert at the Palladium, great restaurants all easily within walking distance . St Pete beach was a 10-15 minute drive or you could walk right down to the bay from this adorable cottage and be at a beach. Brian and Jen were the nicest hosts you could hope for. This cottage had everthing we needed to be comfortable and allowed us the privacy of a home away from home. So happy with our choice and plan to return again. Thanks for a great week.

Just perfect for a short stay while our condo was being remodeled.

Wonderful little cottage. Well appointed from the kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Great location for downtown St. Pete activities. Extremely clean and quiet, central AC that really cools and a king size bed - all that were important to us. As a bonus the hosts Jen and Brian live on the property so response to any issues are immediate, not to mention how friendly and helpful they are. We would stay here again!

Great location in St Petersburg, perfect stay

We were looking for a place to stay in Historic Old Northeast St Petersburg and couldn't have found a better location. Cottage was extremely clean, cozy, private and comfortable. Neighborhood area is nice, safe and quiet. Both Jen and Brian were excellent hosts - super helpful, responsive and friendly with recommendations for the area. We had two small dogs with us and there was plenty of space inside plus a fenced yard outside for them to run around in. Location was perfect and everything we wanted to see was close by including grocery stores, amazing restaurants + coffee shops. Both my wife and I highly recommend this place and would definitely return if we are ever back in the area looking for a place to stay.

Excellent accommodation just a stones throw from downtown ST Pete.

Jennifer and Brian have been perfect hosts. They have a lovely cottage that was perfectly placed for our vacation. The cottage is well presented and clean, the owners have thought of everything to make our vacation comfortable. Jennifer was very helpful and was easily contactable if had and questions regards the cottage or the local area. We would certainly return to Jennifer and Brian's cottage on our next vacation to St Pete.

Great cozy cottage

It was just what I needed. Perfect size, very quiet, and a parking space! The owners are very nice and attentive. The clothes washer needed fixing, and they were on it immediately, replacing the unit with a new one. I had initial trouble with the internet and they immediately provided an alternative line so I could do my work. I would most definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing apartment! Well designed and decorated. Marvelous location. Friendly and helpful owners.

What a charming apartment! Clean, well thought out design (porch and patio ) and lovely decor. Well appointed. Anything specific we happened to need the owners were happy to find for us. We celebrated our son's college graduation here and the place was so nice we sponsored a small dinner there (with owner's permission). The location is fantastic! Four blocks to the waterfront park, outdoor public pool, marinas, Florida wildlife on the water and restaurants galore. The neighborhood is super charming and a walker's delight. Highly recommended.

Great location, comfortable spot

The property is small, but everything is big enough. Nice bedroom and comfortable bed, good linens. Small but sweet living room/sitting area with TV. Functional kitchen with high top table. I love to cook and found the kitchen lacking counter space, but I made due. The property also has a small sitting area outside which is very private and comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Easy access to the the waterfront park and downtown. Overall, a great experience.

About the host

Hosted by Jennifer & Brian

Host profile image
Hi! We've lived in Florida for the past 22 years having moved here from Newport, RI. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs. I've worked in Real Estate, Social Services and Staffing/Recruiting. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reading, cooking and going to the beach! My husband, Brian, is a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated from the University of South Florida. He enjoys bike riding, boating, ping pong, all things related to cars & working on his inventions!

Why they chose this property

My husband and I bought this property because we love the 'old world' charm of the neighborhood with its' brick streets and architecture. The neighborhood is filled with Craftsman style homes as well as Tudors, Mediterranean Revivals, Colonials, American Four Squares and others. We love that we can walk to our favorite restaurants, shops and entertainment! This neighborhood is like a New England town with Palm Trees but without the cold weather!

What makes this property unique

This is a single level cottage so there won't be any stairs to navigate except 2 steps onto the front porch. There is a private parking spot behind the cottage. It has central AC/Heat (no window shakers)! Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront with it's own small beach! You'll also enjoy a private washer/dryer right in the cottage. A horse drawn carriage can pick you up right at the cottage door (a unique benefit to this neighborhood) and tour you around the neighborhood and/or take you downtown and drop you off at dinner! So fun!
