Hungry Hollow Hideaway - escape to this modern cabin on 15 acres
Tucked away on a private lot, with no neighbors behind it. The house is a modern clean oasis, amongst its natural surroundings. Beautiful mountain and nature view from new salt water hot tub and a small brook runs at the base of the elevated terrain. The house sits on 1.75 acres with a naturally landscaped yard. There are 13 more acres behind the house to explore, and nearby rock city forest and McCarty Hill state forest too for great hiking. Nine mile drive to Holiday Valley for skiing in winter.

House was cozy and clean and offered everything we needed for our stay. Owner was responsive and great with all of my questions. Kids loved playing outside in the snow and down by the creek. Hot tub was an added bonus.
Easily utilized GPS to find. Is set on a quiet dirt road 15 minutes from E-ville. Check in details were very simple & easy to follow. Was immediately impressed walking into the cabin. To the left we could hang our ski gear & coats, with cubbies for our boots. The kitchen is very nicely updated with all the amenities/appliances you could need. The living room is perfectly laid out with the most comfortable powered couches. The ability to have an actual fire in the fireplace was great. There was wood ready to go inside & more outside. We enjoyed fires while settling down & watching a movie each night. There is an air purifier in the living room which was a great plus. We utilized the hot tub each day. It’s set on the porch with a stream 10 yards away, which was so cool to listen to while in the hot tub. A towel warmer sits inside the back door, for a warm towel immediately out of the hot tub. The water dispenser was very much appreciated. Upstairs the 3 bedrooms were very nicely decorated, with comfortable beds/bedding. The bathroom was pristine. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes for the 4 of us to use. Lots of mirrors throughout. Overall, we were blown away with the cleanliness, space, location, cabin aesthetic and friendliness of our host, Chris. Our only downfall for our trip was the weather. It wasn’t the best to ski/explore in BUT that’s why we loved coming back & hanging out in our home away from home. I did post a video on social media #HungryHollowHideaway
This house is really cute, but the pipes froze and we had no water for most of the day. The house is poorly insulated, the only way we kept warm was having a fire constantly in the fireplace. Shower door will not stay shut which was hard to keep the water from escaping the shower.
One of the can light fixtures in the kitchen was drywalled over which i can see being safety issue, the light glows thru the drywall when you turn the kitchen lights on.
With a few repairs this place could be great!
The property is in a woodsy natural setting with a creek that was peaceful. The location is no more than 15 minutes from Ellicottville and Holiday Valley. Allegany State Park is also worth a visit. The owner was responsive and the interior was clean and the mattresses comfortable. The linens were provided and of nice quality. I wish the bathroom were larger but would stay here again.
