Romantic Retreat, a 2 person K suite, is a free standing cottage which, in the 1800’s, was the cistern for the 2 Cigar Maker cottages located in this gated compound with 4 other units. Overlooking the heated Family pool, gardens, game filled pavilion and new outdoor shower, you senses will be delighted with cool Caribbean colors, original art by Florida artist Carroll Swayze! Vaulted ceilings throughout, a King 14" pillow-top memory foam mattress on a Pottery Barn platform bed offers lots of storage, top of the line linens and 4 pillows will allow you the perfect night’s sleep with a Hunter fan overhead and a Mitsubishi split AC/Heat to keep you cool or warm, depending on the season. The kitchen has an under-counter refrigerator, coffee maker, under cabinet toaster/oven, microwave and basic cooking supplies. The Smart TV (bring Netflix, Prime, etc. codes) safe, iron/ironing and bathroom with tub will make your stay complete. You will receive daily housekeeping and there is a washer/dryer for your use, too.

I am a reformed RN who decided I liked caring for people on the wellness end of the health spectrum! I renovated/decorated/loved my properties since starting Center Court-Historic Inn & Cottages in 1994. I moved to Key West from Tampa in 1984 and love everything about Key West! I enjoy going out in my boat to the back country, taking care of animals and loving life.
Why they chose this property
Center Street is between Duval and Simonton Streets, just off Truman Ave. This area is approved for Transient Rentals (nightly rentals) and I realized the value when I purchased it in 1984. At that time, I was the first person to move onto Center Street and start renovating...it is perfectly located for everything you would love to do in Key West.
What makes this property unique
My properties are all historic, from the 1880's in an area that was initially inhabited by Bahamian settlers. Truman Avenue was once the demarcation line dividing Key West from Monroe County. Superb location, close to everything you want to do and see but on a quiet 2 block lane so very quiet, yet around the corner from the fun of Duval Street.
