Would be a great property if it was taken care of. Type of owner who only improves things if they have to. Everything is dated. Heavy dust. Lots of dusty fake plants/trees & heavy drapery. House needs a deep clean. HVAC room below is disgusting- filled with trash, but no rafts, toys, life jackets. Disgusting windows, many screens with holes, including patio, allowing bugs in. Whole house needs a pressure washing. Planters under windows haven’t seen life in years, no love is put into this house.
Treacherous stairs. Only dock in cove without a boat slip. Only way out was a rickety pool ladder covered in algae. Only attached by a U shape latch on each side with two screws. Screw holes were rotted- U latch came up when the ladder was used, ladder slipped out of latch. So first time in the lake I had to hang on to dock, pull myself up 3 feet & try to guide the ladder back in at a 90 degree angle. Barely supported me-felt it about to give. Next time, one of the steps, attached with two rivets on each side, gave way, pinching my foot between the sharp metal edge. They sent a guy out who screwed down the latches into the same stripped hole. Sure enough, my next, & last time, the ladder did the same exact same thing. I tried to skip the broken step, but when the screw came out of the deck again, I fell & HAD to use the stair to get out. It gave way with a quarter of my weight.
I would never type this much detail, or leave a neg review. However, when I told the manager they should replace the ladder for future guests, she said “I’ll see what the owner says”. Huh? Then, they msgd later saying the bottom stair wasn’t broken the first time they came out, & now it was. The picture their helper took showed the stair had one of two rivets broken- making it crooked- it was hanging by a thread. I pointed this out to them & told them again what happened. Again, mngr says “I’ll let you know what the owner says, could you send us a picture of your cut foot, we said we would render aid” Huh? Again, just pointing out they have a dangerous $50 20 yr old pool ladder, when nice ones made of galvanized piping are only $150. 10 docks in the cove, this was the only unsafe one with this thin aluminum frame. I knew it wouldn’t be done while I was there, I was simply alerting the owner. Instead, I got accused of I’m not even sure what exactly. The response I got, I had to warn other renters- especially if they still put guests’ lives in danger instead of spending $150.
