About this property

Secluded Strait of Juan De Fuca Waterfront, Stunning View

This waterfront vacation rental we call Sea Shell, sits right on the edge of the bank with a stunning view and private beach access. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed, one with a twin, and a full size sleeper sofa in the living room. This very comfortable mobile home has a spectacular view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the mountains of Vancouver Island. Nothing but ships, mountains and water out of the large picture window from the living room couch. Bedroom windows open to the water side, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves with a gentle cool breeze washing over you. Eagles fly close in and you can watch them fish and dine on the beach below from the large picture window in the living room. Sea lions, otters, whales, and innumerable birds are also common sights.

We're only a few miles from Sekiu, WA, famous for salmon fishing, and only 35 miles from Forks, home of Twilight.

We are also close to Cape Flattery, Shi Shi Beach and numerous points in the Olympic National Park. The beach below has dozens of tidepools and very interesting rock formations, plus driftwood, shells, rocks, and the occasional piece of seaglass. A wonderful place to relax your cares away.

Lovely beach
As other reviews mentioned, it’s a trailer house. But it was clean and comfortable. The location couldn’t be better if you want privacy and a great view and a nice beach.

It is a trailer but owner has gone to great links to make all comfortable. We really enjoyed walking the beach below us. Even saw two otters! Beds are comfortable and home was very clean!

Excellent Location!
We wanted a place close to Cape Flattery and the Ozette Triangle trail, and this lovely home was in a location which made it easy to drive to both. The fact that it was on the water with beach access and wonderful tide pools made it one of the most special places that we stayed during our trip to Olympic. It was clean and comfortable. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Best tide pools!!
This property is private, located at the end of the road, very well appointed and clean. The stairway to the beach leads to some of the best tide pools ever! I am looking forward to returning.

Incredible private setting with beautiful beach!!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here for two nights. We stayed in "downtown" Sekiu before and won't do that again! This home is only a 5 minute drive north of Seiku and well worth it. The beach is fantastic. The house is humble but VERY clean. We have two boys who can't wait to come back and explore!

Secluded comfy getaway
We LOVED this property. The owners were caring and communicative -- the weather was very concerning in the days prior to our visit and JoAnn was very helpful by keeping us informed about the weather and road conditions in Sekiu. The home is a spacious mobile home with full kitchen, two bedroom, full bath, and large living area and wood burning stove. All beachside rooms have new windows with great views. The living room window is spectacular, - like a widescreen living TV for watching the sky, water, wildife, boats etc..! Private access to the stunning beach with tidepools and great beachcombing. The location is unbelievable with good roads and easy access to Olympic Natl Park and Native American destinations. Highly recommended! We couldn't have been happier. We recommend bringing your own groceries and staying for as long as you can!

Great place, feels like home!
LOVED LOVED LOVED the location! Loved the sound of the waves crashing on the beach at night while we slept. It was quiet and remote ... all the things you want on a weekend away from it all. The place is cozy and you feel at home there. There are lots of little things we found in this home that we haven't seen in others. They had a lantern on top of the fridge and hand held flashlights on the table. A book like in a hotel room but even better because it had so much information about the area - tide schedule, wildlife watching schedules, fun facts, etc. They had games to play that were fun and even one we will be getting for our future trips. Overall, I look forward to a return trip this summer. There are so many hikes in the area and my husband wants to return to do more exploring and more eagle watching / photography! Thank you JoAnn for going above and beyond for us while we stayed there.

Peace, quiet and amzing tidepools along the Strait of Juan de Fuca
Our group of four enjoyed a three night stay at the Seashell. We found the home charming, clean, well-stocked and private. The view from the picture-window is breathtaking. The woodstove was cozy. We appreciated that firewood was provided. No cell phone reception, so we made use of the wireless internet for contact with family. The lack of TV was welcome. Beach access is via a well-maintained, steep trail. The daytime high tides were quite extreme during our stay, nevertheless we still made several trips down to the beach for beachcombing and photos. By aid of headlamps, we returned to the beach at night to marvel at the abundance of marine life exposed during the minus tides: sea stars, chitons, limpets, hermit crabs, sea anemones and more! The location of the Seashell lends itself well to exploration of the area. We frequently pass through Sekiu on our way to coastal hiking destinations such as Shi Shi or Cape Alava and Sand Point. It was nice to have a home-base in Sekiu so that we could slow down and explore the area in greater depth. We visited Cape Flattery and the Makah Museum – both are amazing and highly recommended. There are numerous places to stop and take in the views along Hwy 112 between Clallam Bay and Neah Bay. Several geocaches can be found in the area as well. We shopped for groceries in Port Angeles prior to arrival but found Ray's Grocery (Sekiu) and Washburn General Store (Neah Bay) to have odds and ends we may have forgotten. We were lucky to see gray whales in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We also saw a herd of elk at the Cowan Ranch Heritage Site. Eagles were seen daily. JoAnn was a pleasure to work with and promptly answered all questions. We look forward to returning again in the future.

Location, Location, Location! STAY HERE!
We will be leaving tomorrow morning after 7 days at the Seashell, and I'm already in withdrawal. If you are looking for a comfortable, centrally located vacation rental, stop looking and email JoAnn to book. Our family of 5 has found the house to be nearly perfect- the kitchen is well stocked, the home is comfortably furnished, etc- but the biggest seller for us has been the location. 50 steps down the stairs takes you to a private access beach- we have spent hours beachcombing, exploring tidepools by headlamps at night, having s'mores at our beach fire, you name it. It's been a little piece of paradise. If you don't want to stick around here, there is SO much to do with Neah Bay and Cape Flattery just up the road, Forks and the Olympic National Park to the south, and Port Angeles to the east. The Thriftway in Forks is a great spot to get groceries (and also has espresso, deli and souveniers) and is only about 45 minutes away. For great food, try The Warmhouse in Neah Bay- amazing fish and chips from cod caught right out there, and an amazing view as well. For hiking- Cape Flattery can't be beat- we saw sea otters, gray whales, sea lions, and more this morning. Go early and you'll just about have the hike to yourselves. A few hints: if you can, bring rubber boots, especially if you have kids. They make the tidepools more fun. Headlamps are great for exploring tidepools after dark- watch the beach for crabs coming up after dark. Maybe bring some extra pillows with you if you like to sleep with more than one. The master bedroom has a double bed, not queen size- just be aware. Rain coats and umbrellas are helpful- this is, after all, the Olympic Peninsula, not Phoenix. Plan to build a beach fire and have s'mores right around sunset- awesome! Anyways, please patronize The Seashell, just not on the dates that we'll want to be back again! :)

Beach retreat
Cozy & clean, and the view is amazing! The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and we love the mildly vintage vibe. Having a direct access trail to the beach was great. The beach was a place to discover something new every day, with the tide pools, driftwood, shells, and beautifully tumbled stones. We hope to return to this place some day soon!

Hidden Gem!
Home is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with outstanding beach access and tide pools. We spent hours on the beaches and never saw another soul! The home is a single-wide older trailer; it's nothing fancy, but it was spotlessly clean and very cozy. The kitchen and the home were well-stocked which was appreciated because we cooked all our meals while there. The living room window that overlooks the water was such an outstanding view!

Great place by the Strait
This was a wonderful location. The trailer is just that, a trailer. It is dated but clean. The queen bed and twin bed are comfortable. My daughter did not complain about the sleeper sofa but she is about 110 lbs. The view out the front window is amazing and the deck is wonderful. Great semi-private beach and not far from Olympic attractions. Saw seals and starfish while here. Great sunsets if you walk west at low/semi-low tide.

It was amazing.
First the owners were super fast to respond to all of my questions. Which was amazing. Second, the place is super clean. Yes there are some issues, like a slight lean in the bathroom, but it didn't matter. The beds are super comfortable. The house was well stocked. The view is breathtaking and the beach is so quiet and peaceful. We saw seals and whales from the beach. It is one of my favorite places and I can't wait to go back.
