Our group of friends had a lovely weekend in McGregor! The lodging was comfortable and spacious. The beds were cozy, and those Bare blankets! The ice machine was an appreciated bonus. Thank you to our host for recommending places for food and drink - we loved the places we visited. The locals were inviting. The view was great, and it was fun to stay at a historic site!

Why they chose this property
I love the history and the beauty of the scenery in McGregor. Located in the perfect proximity to Pikes Peak State Park, Yellow River State Forest and Effigy Mounds and just across from the Mississippi, you can soak in nature and the beautiful wild animals just outside the big picture windows. And don’t even get me started on the Sunrises!!!!
What makes this property unique
It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was once the a hotel, ticketing office for the railroad, a saloon, and for a period of time after the civil war….it was known to be a brothel.
