Great cabin, great location!

We stayed at the cabin over Spring Break with our two children. Although the cabin was small, we didn't mind at all. There was plenty of space for us all and we were fortunate to have great weather so we were outside most of the time. We loved the seating areas all around the property. We ate every meal outside at the table on the deck which allowed us to take in the great view. We loved using the paddle boards and canoe as well. My only suggestion would be to find a way to attach the ladder to the dock. Since it didn't fully attach, it made getting in and out of the water a little tricky. The owner was very quick to respond to my communication when we had a question. Being pet friendly was a huge plus as well. We could never figure out how to get the TVs or the A/C window unit to work in the living room, but we didn't really miss not having them. We had a fantastic time and at the end of our stay, no one wanted to leave. The true sign of a great stay. Thank you!

Fun weekend

We were overall very happy with the rental. The paddle boat, canoe, and paddle boards were great to be able to be use and we loved having a dock. Only complaint is that the ladder on the dock is not attached to the dock at all and made getting out of the water a little difficult.

Calming and relaxing time by the river

My husband, myself and my 2 kids had e a great time in this little cabin. It is so cozy and the outdoor area is perfect. It was a little cold and we spend a lot of time around the fire pit. They had plenty of firewood stocked. The paddles were in good condition and allowed us to go and explore without getting too wet due to cold wearther. It was so calm and relaxing. The house was built in between big trees and had so much shade and protection. I also enjoy that the whole area is completly fenced so we could let the dog free without worrying to escape or bothering the neighbors. The house is a little old but has everything we needed. Besides we wanted to stay outside anyway. The kids were super happy and wanted to come back.

Relaxing getaway

This was the perfect cabin for us, it has its quirks and it wasn’t pretty but it was right off the lake in a serene cove. We were able to disconnect, enjoy each other’s company and relax all weekend. Plenty of things to do, we used the canoe and SUP to venture out into the lake. Played horseshoes, went fishing(caught some small bass) and grilled some good dinners! Great stay, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen functional and location was great.

Cute property and community.

Nice place. The fish feeder on the neighboring cabin was a nice touch. It made sure my young sons and I caught many perch and bluegill. My wife and sons really liked the canoe. We enjoyed the paddle boat and even fished from it a little. We shut off the AC in the front room the first night and were not able to get it to turn back. We all had to cram into the other bedroom on the second night because the front room was too hot. My T-Mobile phone had no reception so I could not call / email the property manager to let him know (which I did not mind too much since the reason to rent the cabin was to 'unplug'). They also had a handy man come by. He was kind and obliging, but we were really startled when someone showed up and started sledge hammering the front walkway. Overall, we had a nice time and I hate to ding the property a whole star, but I would have given it 4 stars had the AC came back on.

Peaceful

Peaceful little cove. House was tastefully furnished. A little cold this weekend but in summer I imagine this place is perfect. Big giant trees to keep sun off of you. Husband and I really enjoyed spending our anniversary here. Fishing was nice also.

Great place for a weekend getaway

Our stay was for a Father - Son getaway, and we both really enjoyed our time. We took full advantage of the canoe (provided) to fish the quiet inlet off the river. My son was able to catch enough fish to keep him happy, which made me happy as well. The cabin itself is in a great location, and it was quite comfortable for the two of use all weekend. We also enjoyed making a visit to the Longhorn Cavern - great activity during the heat of the day!

Beautiful, Peaceful & Fun!

This little quaint, charming home was perfect for two couples. Upon arrival the place is uniquely landscaped, towering over the property are beautiful live oaks alive with squirrels, birds singing, hummingbirds fluttering in and out of the vivid colors of flowers, out in the waters fish jumping with a crane or two out on the island looking eagerly for their perfect catch of the day! A lot of extra amenities to keep you busy. Offered are two nostalgic bicycles awaiting for you to recapture memories of your childhood, paddle boat, canoe, for the really daring adventure are paddle boards. Paddle boards seem to be the "HOT" trend for this area. I am 51 years young and had never experienced these cool water boards. Sit, stand, body surf etc. I had my son of (26 yrs) and his GF with us so, he showed my husband (61 yrs) and I how to use these cool gems. I'm a big try anything person, my husband is the stay grounded, comfort zone type. Sum it up we all had a blast on these paddle boards!!! Overall, property was clean, well supplied, great amenities, manager very nice, great service. The only little minor things we will add is flapper in toilet was annoying, it kept hanging and coming off the track almost every time we flushed toilet. (I'm sure Steve has already fixed). The one thing I would like to see available is a smoking ash bucket or receptacles for the smokers. I do not smoke but, my husband does. (outside) My husband used a water bottle to dispose of his butts. Upon us leaving and putting the canoe back I noticed several cigarette butts lying on the ground that were not my husbands brand. I picked them up because I did not want us to be blamed for doing this. You have some people who are respectful of others property and some whom are not. I just feel this would be helpful in maybe minimizing cigarette butts being tossed and left lying about trashing the property.

Super nice property, but the cabin is old and several things didn't work

We had a very nice time in the water and on the lot, but the house is old and not so clean. We killed a huge cockroach in the middle of the night, on the ceiling. We made sweet rolls on the stove top, since the oven didn't work. We used a knife for our can goods since there is no can opener, SO BRING ONE. Also, once you adjust the toilet, it seemed to work okay. Make sure and find the breaker box outside, since one of the AC window units wasn't working for the first two hours. Also, needed to locate a ladder to be able to get out of the water, onto the dock. Very nice owner who tried to assist via phone, but for the money, we didn't feel it was a quality deal. Again, beautiful lot and nice water. Kids had a blast and we loved the area, just would never stay here, again.

Cabin "D" very cute!

The cabin was very clean and comfortable for a long weekend stay. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the best so we were not able to utilize the outdoor toys. Great location to explore the parks and vineyards. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in property.

Adorable, quiet cabin surrounded by huge trees

We loved this well-stocked, spacious, beautiful little cabin. There are two sitting areas (couches in the living room and master bedroom). The kitchen had nearly everything you could possibly need (kitchen staples like brown and white sugar, cutting boards, mixing bowls, pans, mugs...even dog bowls!). The dock is sturdy and tidy. The stand-up paddle boards and canoe are easy to access and in good condition. This part of the river is extremely quiet -- it's in a "no wake" area, and traffic on both the road and the river was very low. Best of all, in my opinion, the cabin property is fully fenced, so you can let dogs roam around the large yard without fear of them escaping or getting lost. It was also very conveniently located <10 minutes from an HEB and a few nice restaurants (although we only went to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house -- i.e., the Grand Central Cafe). Steve was very informative, welcoming, and responsive to emails. The only negatives (which were very minor, in my mind) were that there were some cobwebs on the patio furniture, the placement of the one bathroom was a little inconvenient (especially at night or in the morning -- you have to go through another bedroom to get to it), and the window AC unit in the first bedroom was a little noisy. Just as advice for future vacationers, there were a few kitchen staples that I did not see and wished I'd brought or bought at HEB -- honey, avocado or olive oil (they only had canola and Pam), kosher salt, and a pepper grinder. To be clear, I don't see those missing ingredients as a negative of the cabin -- they can't have everything, and they did have a *lot* of other staples. They also did have salt and pepper shakers -- I just prefer my own. We loved this cabin and would happily come again if it's available next time we're looking to get away. Thank you so much for the accommodation, Steve and Cabin D!

Pictures are a bit deceiving, we arrived we thought check in was 3,,we were actually just goung to put stuff on porch and leave but it seemed everything was ready owner was there very nice,,, at first glance. It quaint, the more you look the more you notice cob webs over everything baseboard ceilings, we killed a nest of spiders, in closet, ceiling in one of bedrooms looks like cardboard ,, Kitchen was well stock, no central air but it did cool down,,no cable so no tv unless you watch movies,,bottom of lake fells horrible mushy,,creepy, they did have a paddle boat it was very laud ,,, also the walk down to water is steep so i would be careful with elderly,,,getting out of lake with out help impossible, there is no steps or ladder,, I was locked in the bathroom for 40 mim the handle didn't work no one was hm,, dramatic!lawn person showed up 8am we were on back patio drinking coffee he walked up the deck starting blowing deck off along with our shoes ,towels, than just walked away,..did enjoy deck plenty of space ,also when I told them.about the door they had do reply,, I would have excepted something,,I think we got charged a cleaning fee even though we vacuumed wash sheets took out garbage and cleaned up dead spiders we have stayd in this area several times first time we ever had any problems

Cabin "D" on the Lake

This is our second year renting this particular cabin and it did not disappoint. The location is perfect, the house was fully stocked, super clean and so comfortable. Wonderful place to stay.

We loved every minute of our stay! The house was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed including blankets, cooking items and entertainment. We enjoyed the bikes, the horseshoes and especially the paddleboat. We caught about 10 fish each day, and made s'mores in the fire pit at night. Only drawback was that the back yard was a little steep for children, but they had plenty of other space to run around. The shady trees were a highlight.

Perfect Surprise Bday weekend for my Wife

I surprised my wife for her birthday by taking her to this wonder house on Lake LBJ. It's in a cove off the main part of the Colorado and behind the giant log cabins. The Friday night we were there we were able to sit out on the swing and listen to the live music they had across the cove at the log cabin place. Pretty cool. We took the canoe out a couple times and fished off a little (didn't catch anything.) The house is well stocked and the window units kept it plenty cool. This is the perfect place for anyone looking for a nice retreat.

We wanted a nice relaxing get away. The house is really situated nicely. It is on a quiet cove, the porch is up close to the water with lovely oak trees that give the porch and house a lot of shade. We really enjoyed the canoe and the paddle boat. We were able to fish right on the property. (Catfish and perch) The house is fully set up for everything you need including a grill, fire pits, and washer and dryer. The house is older but is nice and clean.

Tin-roof shack with lots of ameneties

Well Appointed This is the most well-appointed vacation rental I have ever stayed in by a long shot. Not only are there multiple activities at the cabin (canoeing, biking, peddle-boating, horseshoes), but each activity is backed up by all the gear needed. There are life jackets for the boats, horseshoes for the pits, helmets and a tire pump for the bikes, tons of outdoor furniture, and even plenty of firewood for the fire pit. One cabinet has a decent collection of DVDs, all alphabetized and numbered. There was a smoke detector beeping when we arrived, and I even found a drawer of spare batteries. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, utensils and serving wear. There were plenty of clean towels and extra bedding, all labeled by the bed it went to. Problems The roof on this cabin is partially an old tin roof and partially corrugated plastic like you see used on a greenhouse. The roof had clearly been leaking recently, and parts of the ceiling and light fixtures were falling down. There is only one interior door and the only bathroom is off the other bedroom, so anyone sleeping outside of the bedroom with the door is in a traffic pattern. The cabin was very cold the night we arrived, and the three space heaters were not adequate to keep the place warm other than the bedroom with the door. Luckily there were plenty of blankets! This place is advertised as kid friendly, but I would not trust children under 6 on the deck. The railings have no slats at all, and the drop approaches 20 feet on the downhill side. I wouldn’t even want a rambunctious 6 year old on the deck. We enjoyed our thanksgiving week at the cabin, but next time we hope to stay someplace where the roof is in good shape.

Great Getaway Retreat Destination!!!

We planned a girls weekend away with my daughters, and all our best friends. We had such a great time! The house is perfectly cute and had everything we needed. The girls loved the canoe and took advantage of all their was to offer. We took a trip to the Devils Water Hole ( A MUST DO) and rock climbed and jumped off the cliffs. Next day was outing to "The Slab" in Kingsland. This house sits in great proximity to everything. We even rode into Marble Falls for a birthday Dinner. We loved the outdoor living spaces and lived on the patio. We ate our meals outside and played games at night. My only negative feedback is the water is very shallow and "mucky". Not good swimming unless kids are very young. We felt a little disconnected from main lake, so we took our day trips elsewhere but all in all its great house.
