About this property
The Blue House on Cross Lake
About this space
This cottage was built circa 1930 on Cross Lake as the home for Lonnie Erwin who owned a catfish restaurant next to his home. Back in the day it was popular to drive up from Shreveport if they caught enough catfish to serve. The restaurant closed in the mid 1940s and it and the cottage fell into disrepair. We renovated the cottage and restaurant (also on as The Red House on Cross Lake) and brought them up to date.
The space
Although we left many of the original details we added modern conveniences for comfort.
Guest have use of the grounds and pier along with our family and any guest in The Red House next door.
The property is at the end of a dead end street on the open lake and offers comfort, peace, and quiet.
We have built an outdoor kitchen/pavilion for use by our guest in both the Blue and Red houses and our family. It is for all to use. If someone is there you are still welcome. Make new friends and enjoy the space. Please see the outdoor kitchen manual in the house and follow the guidelines.
Other things to note
Please note the no children between the ages of 2 to 12 rule. This is important. It is simply too dangerous right on the lake for young children.
Please note: we must be notified if you plan on having guest on the property during your stay.
