About this property

Mountain Retreat w/Views | 3 Miles to MSU/Main St

THE MAIN HOUSE:
The main house, otherwise known as “The Granary,” was a collective concept incorporating layers of deliberate touches throughout the home magnifying a message of reflection, renewal, and fellowship. While the exterior wings of the structure reveal newer construction, the center section of the house is made to look like a centuries old granary standing the test of time that if the walls could talk, she would have a story to tell. The barn doors on the front of the house open to create an indoor/outdoor living space that generates a spectacular breeze throughout the house during the spring, summer, and fall months.

Making your way through the keyless front entry the expansive gourmet kitchen sets the tone with the 10-person island, 6 burner cooktop, double ovens, two dishwashers, custom cabinetry throughout, mini bar with wine/cocktail glasses, and extensive cookware that says this space was built for entertaining. On those chilly wintery days make sure to take your shoes off and let your feet enjoy the radiant heated flooring in the kitchen and adjacent room creating an even ambient temperature throughout the house. To the left and right of the kitchen are the TV/den room and family room equipped with Wi-Fi tv as well as a Wi-Fi Sonos system to play your favorite music. The large picture windows and French doors out the back of the house perfectly frame the majestic mountains and occasional wildlife gracefully walking the property conjuring a feeling of tranquility as you cozy up in a blanket while drinking your morning coffee or sipping on a nightcap to end your day.

As you travel up the custom steel staircase a floor to ceiling art piece of a local artist's vibrant buffalo face painting comes to life as the natural light from the large staircase window dances across the surface. Once at the top of the stairs there are two bedrooms. “Sunset” room to the left boasts vivid sunsets luring you to your queen bed to watch the show of colors painted across the evening skies. “Sunrise” room on the right shows off the morning sun cresting the ranges creating an Alpen glow that envelopes your senses drawing you deeper into your feather down comforter as creation slowly comes to life again. Additionally, there is a private custom steel balcony off each master suite with a uniquely designed tension wire that runs end to end through both masters to the exterior of the house allowing you a bird's eye view of the surrounding land while giving a feeling of floating. Beyond the bedroom is a private bathroom with a custom vanity and plenty of drawers to house toiletries and any other necessary items. Also, there are towels, wash clothes and hand towels in the open storage area as well as complimentary blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash.

SHIPPING CONTAINER CABINS:
Upon arrival our two one-of-a-kind cozy guest cabins hearken back to their prior life as 8x20 hi-top shipping containers. We left many of the original details inside and out, not only for the hip factor but to pay homage to their once seaworthy roots. We strategically placed the two guest house containers [Bridger Peak Cabin & Spanish Peak Cabin] in one of the best locations on our 1-acre property. Nestled next to an Aspen grove while facing the Gallatin mountain range and an open preserve field where you can view wildlife year-round keeps you mesmerized with the beauty of Montana that abounds!

The interior of the guest cabin was created to be a workable space with flexible areas to store luggage under the bed and in the surrounding cabinetry. The stained flooring is original to the container creating a durable surface for the sometimes-unpredictable seasons Montana is known for. A queen-sized memory foam bed is flanked by large windows giving you front seat views of the mountains and wildlife that occasionally walk through the property. The bathroom is equipped with complimentary Shampoo/Conditioner, bodywash, and blow dryer along with bath towels, wash clothes, hand towels, and toilet paper. In the kitchenette there is everything you need to cook a small meal. Provided inside the unit is a convection hotplate, microwave, small refrigerator, dishes, cast iron pan, silverware/serving utensils, Coffee press, electric water kettle, spices, and other assorted items. Outside each unit has an outdoor camp kitchen outfitted with a 3-burner “Camp Chef” cooktop and small fire pit with chairs to enjoy the epic Montana nights.

MSU Parent's Weekend

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Granary in Bozeman, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking views and the outdoor area were amazing! The compound itself is incredibly spacious, making it perfect for larger groups or families. The house and the cabins were well equipped and we particularly loved the large windows and the large barn door that could open to let the fresh air in. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed making a meal for all of our sons. The location is ideal in Bozeman. Out of the crowds but close to downtown and the university! Thank you for the great stay!

"Best part of waking up was opening the big glass doors overlooking a meadow and mountains..."

We loved this beautiful spread with main house, cabins, gym and sauna. The spacious open kitchen was great for big group and had state of the art appliances. Beds super comfortable. Best part of waking up was opening the big glass doors overlooking a meadow and mountains in the background. Close to downtown Bozeman shopping and all the outdoor activities. Nice area outside to BBQ too. We’ve already booked our next stay this summer!

If I could give six stars, I would⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If I could give six stars, I would⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Granary was the perfect setting for my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding. It had everything we wanted and more with brand new updated appliances, large t.v., beautiful cozy furniture and the most spectacular views. Gorgeous fully-loaded kitchen with extra large granite island. Large dance-floor with open barn doors for dancing. Upstairs has two very unique bed and bathrooms with deck - perfect balcony area for throwing the bouquet and garter toss. Adjacent to The Granary are two adorable off the grid one-bed and bathroom cabins for the bride and groom’s wedding night. It was everything we were looking for and more. I would highly recommend the Granary. Just 10 minutes to town but far enough away to where you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. It’s dog friendly and the views are endless… Loved it!

Magical doesn’t begin to explain “The Granary”

Magical doesn’t begin to explain “The Granary” as we’ve come to know it by name now. While providing a “world-away” feeling, it’s minutes to downtown Bozeman. Hard to compliment accommodations too much, but suffice to say it’s a perfect blend of modern mountain chic that’s difficult to describe but you’ll know it when you experience it. Hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming and just the right amount of attentive. Hesitate to recommend as I’d like to keep for myself…but go. You won’t regret it.

Hello! We are so thankful you found us and look forward to being your hosts! A little history about us and the "why" behind The Granary property... We met at 19 years old and married at 21 and have been blessed with two kids and grandkids. Much of what we do surrounds a common thread God has strategically woven into every aspect of our life—love the unlovely, embolden to be fearless, and challenge people to live courageously. We come from humble beginnings and have worked together for over two decades building a dog training and behavioral facility keeping us entertained on most days. In our spare time you can find us zipping around two up on two wheels, hunting, riding horses, swing dancing to a country song, exercising, traveling, spending time with friends or discipling people & marriages. We found our greatest calling to be with couples whose relationships have deteriorated over time causing a lack of intimacy whether it be from the busyness of kids and life or other stressors; our mission has been to press into those areas, awaken a new invigorating desire for one another, and rekindle connection. Our hope for you is that you relax and enjoy your time away whether it be with a loved one or in solitude as you recharge while taking in the beauty of all that Montana has to offer. -- Ryan + Meegan

Why they chose this property

Our Montana journey began with a bit of divine serendipity in 2013 for our 20-year anniversary when we were supposed to be in Mexico and the hurricanes hit causing us to pivot and land in Bozeman instead. The beginning of “The Granary” property, unbeknownst to us, started over two decades ago when we found ourselves discipling other marriages through their trials and realized the common denominator was lack of connection. Five years later In October of 2018 we found this property and a year later began the journey of building a couples retreat for marriages to reconnect, restore, refocus, and relax. For us Montana was love at first sight and salve to our souls with the jaw dropping mountain ranges, plains for miles, majestic wildlife, vibrant sunsets and rises, and the grandest Big Sky starry night shows that captured our hearts and continues to call us back year after year.

Our cornerstone for designing The Granary property main house and two shipping container cabins was to nurture relationship through togetherness whether it be connecting with the captivating views of nature out every window surrounding you, fellowshipping around the large kitchen island in the main house, cozying up in the small shipping container cabin, or sitting outside listening to the chatter of Aspen leaves whisper in a gentle breeze. There is an unspoken healing peace here yet invigorating raw adventure that lures you deeper into all this slice of heaven has to offer and if you happen to be there on a snowy day as the flakes drop delicately to the ground and all of creation seems to be at a standstill, listen carefully, you might even hear the "roar of Aslan in the distance as Narnia comes to life."

We are so excited to be sharing this magical experience with you!

What makes this property unique

On vacation we are always seeking a place to work out and hot sauna. So, we decided it was a necessary luxury for The Granary property and our guests too. We reconstructed the only standing structure, a loaving shed, that stood on the property creating what we have termed “The Dojo.” Keeping with the theme of The Granary we have created an outside in feeling with glass doors and a window in the sauna to view the outdoors as you get your sweat on.

The gym and Sauna [The Dojo] are shared spaces with other guests. It is a compact space so please be respectful and keep your area clean and the equipment organized.
