Own little piece of heaven.

Our stay at the Sorgenfrei cottage was like a little piece of heaven. The best feature for us was the view of Long Lake from the wall of windows, the dock and the patio by the dock. The cottage itself was vintage and charming. A little upgrade to the kitchen would give it 5 stars for us. e

Our Annual Lakeside Maine Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful, quiet location! The AC was a nice bonus. The info for the property should state that the drinking water is lakewater (I only learned this in my arrival guide.) & that there is no slow entry into the lake water (only stairs on the dock). Also, the TV remote is broken, batteries were replaced...but no change. We rented a pontoon boat for one day from Moose Pond Marina & had a wonderful day exploring Moose & Brandy Ponds, & Long Lake.

Beautiful View, Needs Some TLC from Krainin

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We put my in-laws up in this cabin while they visited us for a week on Long Lake in early July. Some positives and negatives to consider: Positives: the view out the wall of windows is really outstanding, and sunsets down by the water were lovely. There was also plenty of space outside on the patio for a get together + BBQ dinner. The cabin was blazing hot when we first arrived, but the AC did eventually cool the place down well (you really need to turn the exhaust vents on as well to cool the upstairs bedrooms, and it will take a day or two, but it works if you make sure to pull the sun shades down on the windows during the afternoon sun and open the upstairs windows during cooler evenings).Negatives: many little things really needed to be fixed. E.g. the microwave isn’t large enough to pop a standard bag of popcorn; the coffee machine/kettle were caked with grime and required deep cleaning before use; the TV is awkwardly placed, small, and did not work at all when we arrived (it was replaced during our visit, but we needed to install it ourselves, which required coordinating with Krainin to coordinate with the owner; you shouldn’t expect cable); we needed to bring an umbrella from my parents' cabin to put down by the dock, because it was scorching otherwise; and the cabin generally was not very clean when we arrived (we absolutely left it cleaner than we found it).Generally speaking, given the money we spent, we expected higher quality amenities as well as more professional management from Krainin to resolve problems that arose.
