About this property

Architecturally Designed Villa in Paradise, Quiet Beach & Blue Water Views

LOCATION: Turtle Beach, St. Kitts, Caribbean. Turtle Beach is a 15-20 minute drive from the airport on a beautiful drive south over the mountains of the South East Peninsula, with Atlantic ocean on the left and the Caribbean Ocean on the right.

KEYWORDS: Villa, Ocean View, Infinity edge pool, a/c, quiet, 3 bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, spectacular views, 5-star feedback ratings.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Want to just kick back and relax? Our new, architecturally-designed home is called Seas-the-Moment. We often have found ourselves unable to leave the veranda from breakfast time until mid-afternoon. Some days we never left! We’d be reading, talking, eating, sleeping and playing games. The talking part was invariably about what we should do that morning for our activity. Sometimes we would walk the 100 yards down the hill to Turtle Beach and go snorkeling on the reef. If we went out to the left of the reef, we would invariably see two to three green turtles (most likely the reason this quiet bay got its name). If we felt really energetic, we’d jump in the car and drive 5 minutes to Sandy Bank beach and go boogie-boarding.

Our home is situated on a hill above Turtle Beach, on the southernmost tip of St. Kitts, looking across the 2 mile ocean Narrows to Nevis and the 3,000’ Mt. Nevis. The house is angled so it catches the tropical breezes just right. The only sounds one falls to sleep or awakens to are the sounds of nature. We have a two-car parking area off the hill. The wrought iron gates leads you down to the rear open courtyard of tiles, white rounded stone, plantings and an outdoor shower area.

MAIN FLOOR: From the rear courtyard, the French doors open up to the living room area, taking your eyes directly to the 18’ wide glass Nanadoor that opens up to the veranda and the breathtaking views of Mt. Nevis across the Caribbean waters.
Contiguous to the right of the living room is the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. The gas stove/electric oven is located in a center island looking out through another set of French glass doors to the infinity edge pool and across the blue waters to Nevis. Looking back into the kitchen from the pool are five teak high-stools facing the kitchen bar. The underside of the bar is faced with local natural stone as is the wall around the window sink that looks into the rear courtyard. All stonework accented throughout our home and the walls outside were completed by Sandy Point, the islands premier stone mason. The laundry and powder room are also on this floor. A TV/music center joins the living area with the kitchen (bring your i-Pods). The remaining accents of quartz counter tops, Florida porcelain tile (throughout our home), teak furniture by Kingly-Bate and vaulted ceilings with three fans complete the main living area.

The five-panel glass Nanadoor slides open in concertina fashion to the left, leaving an expanse of indoor/outdoor living between living room, veranda and sun deck. Several lounge chairs and other seating areas are located on the veranda. We always move our 6-8 person teak dining table and chairs outside for daytime games, reading, and evening dinners under the stars. We used stainless steel railings around the veranda and pool to minimize disruption to the eyes as you take in the views.

The master bedroom has a queen bed, A/C, vaulted ceilings and fan, and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower/window looking out to Nevis. The master bedroom on this floor with its own balcony, and the guest bedrooms down stairs, all have the same beautiful view. A large walk-in closet off the master bedroom stores sheets, towels and supplies while still giving space for clothing and suitcases, etc.

DOWNSTAIRS: Two guest bedrooms have either a queen or two extra-long twins beds (can convert to one King) and share a bathroom and walk-in shower. Both have A/C, ceiling fans. Guests can exit the downstairs hallway to the quiet veranda and take in the views by the landscaped garden.

Hurricane shutters are on all windows for both security when our home is vacated, but also for those who can’t abide to be woken up by the splendor of sunrise! Like many islands, power and water outages are not unheard of, so we have equipped our home with a liquid propane generator large enough to automatically cope with all electrical house needs. Mains water comes to the house through an 800gal cistern, so even with a water break, the house supply should not be uninterrupted. For our peace-of-mind, and yours, we have a 24/7 external video surveillance camera system.

The villa is maintained beautifully by an on-island Property Manager (also our Project Manager for construction) who knows the building very well. He can be contacted in the rare event you have any building issues. A gardener and pool tech will service the property before your arrival as will our wonderful housekeeper, who will provide cleaning and laundry service before your arrival. Additional services can be arranged directly through the building manager.

Best Week Ever
We just got back from a week at Seas The Moment. The villa is perfect. It is well supplied and extremely clean. We woke up every morning to the most beautiful views that we never felt we needed to leave. Communication was great with the owners and Dwayne, the property manager. I had never booked on vrbo before and they made me feel at easy during the process. We were hesitant in renting a car and driving on the other side of the road, but it was a breeze. Dwayne made the arrangements for our car and had it ready for us. I cannot say enough great things about our trip. We are already looking at booking for next year.

The house is absolutely gorgeous! We loved the indoor/outdoor living space and the pool. It is so tastefully decorated, relaxing and beautiful. We had everything we needed for the week. I always appreciate when there are basics provided (garbage bags, paper towels, beach towels etc) and this house had it all! The location was quiet and private and gave us a great home base to tour the island. The visiting monkeys were fun too! All of the info and recommendations that the owners provided was so helpful. It was easy to meet up with the property manager to get a quick tour of the house so we could settle in and enjoy our stay. It was a windy week so we weren’t able to snorkel at Turtle Beach but loved the snorkeling at Salt Plage Beach at Christophe Harbor. Highly recommend the Spice Mill Restaurant and SoHo for dinners.

Best view in the Caribbean
The house and surrounding property is beautiful and extremely well designed and maintained. The large living room that opens via an eighteen foot folding door wall to the expanded covered veranda and pool area extends the total indoor/outdoor living space. Although the best part of it all is the spectacular majestic view of Nevis island and volcano. You cannot get enough of this amazing view. I've been throughout the Caribbean and seen some of the best down island views, but this view tops them all. The location is very breezy with the winds from the east, but it probably helps to keep the bugs down. You do need to keep an eye out for the monkeys, they seem harmless and very comfortable around humans, but if you don't watch out they will come in looking steal food. All of our guests loved them. In summation I hope to stay here again in the future.

Wonderful!
We have stayed in over a dozen VRBO's over the last 15 years and "Seas The Moment" was easily the best. The location is excellent and The View is iconic. The property was clean and comfortable and the owners obviously took special care in organizing everything at the property. The local property manager was very helpful and made the check in process seamless. Would highly recommend this property and hope to someday return.

The most breathtaking view
As you walk into this home, you are immediately captivated by the stunning view of Nevis. Blood pressure lowers, breath comes easier, and you adjust to island time. A perfect spot for vacation. The home is well appointed and honestly, we stayed put more than we expected to bc nothing beats that view. If the road to the development was paved, it would be perfection. Our family of five would return in a heartbeat.

Fantastic home
My husband and I went for a week, first time on St. Kitts. The Island is beautiful and Seas the Moment is too. I wasn’t familiar with the Island or exactly where we were in relation to the restaurants, beaches, etc. I am so thankful that we stayed on the Southeast side out of town. The best beaches are on this end, several restaurants to choose from as well. We would go have breakfast, sightseeing, relax on the beach or float in the ocean. It was extremely nice at the end of the day to go back to the Villa and cool off in the infinity pool (very clean), enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah, or just sit and soak in the stunning ocean views and Nevus with its mountain peak in almost constant cloud cover. The pictures of the home does not do it justice. We will stay here again if we are fortunate enough to visit the extremely nice people of St. Kitts and Nevis again!Dwayne, the property manager, made it extremely easy coming in and leaving out. The whole week was just about perfect!!

Stunning Views
The house is very well appointed with all the amenities one would need on vacation. The kitchen had all the utensils for us to be able to make meals. We did rent a car as the house is quite far away from the rest of the island. All of the beds are very firm and the master bedroom does not have curtains. 6am wakeup everyday was not a part of our vacation plan. The manager was having a bad day. He had other obligations at 5pm and earlier and couldn't meet us. It happens to all of us but a dropped pin would have saved us 30 minutes of looking for the house. We had the wrong road on the reservation. Then we had to wait outside for 1.5 hours with our belongings and groceries. He had a meeting and then a flat tire. He was gruff but did make sure the wifi worked. Also he was quick to respond when the pool had let out a lot of water. It was murky for the last 3 days, I think the pool guy forgot to come back to add chemicals but the pool was cool so we didn't complain. I would stay here again and bring thick mattress foam toppers and eye masks.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting
This home is absolutely beautiful. It is located in a secluded neighborhood, directly facing Nevis. The views from the home are stunning. I have never seen anything like it. We have been to many islands in the Caribbean, and I have to say, St. Kitts is one of the most beautiful I have seen. This home is perfect for outdoor/indoor living. The huge sliding doors open up to the ocean and Nevis where the views are unreal. The infinity pool is a great size - perfect for staying cool in the heat. The property is located close to several restaurants and several nice beaches. You do need a car to get around however. The property is only 30 min from the airport and about 15 min from Frigate Bay, which has tons of great food options as well. The house itself has everything you need to cook your own meals - great pots an pans, sharp knives, lots of dishes, coffee maker, tea kettle, lots of spices and tupperware, etc. We enjoyed making breakfast every day and eating it outdoors, enjoying the breeze and the stunning views. The hosts and the property manager were very easy to communicate with. They were very responsive, provided many recommendations, and even helped with the car rental. Property manager met us at the airport upon arrival with the car and then met us at the airport to collect the car upon departure. Everything was very easy and enjoyable. We hope to come back to St. Kitts again and we hope we can stay at this house once more.

Lovely stay at Turtle beach
I spent a week in Nevis in a private home followed by a week at Park Hyatt St. Kitts in 2018 and knew I wanted to return one day with my kids and that is what we just did. I loved the area of the Hyatt/Christophe Harbor but the privacy of a home and that’s how I found Nick’s home. It is beautifully appointed inside and out. The road in is not the best and i’m glad I rented the property manager, Dwayne’s CRV for the clearance. The Government should pave that road as there are numerous million + homes there. The one recommendation for people who have longer hair is to use the bottom floor shower. It has much higher water pressure than the master bath. The kitchen is well appointed and we cooked and also used 869dine when we didn’t feel like going out. We loved the food, drinks and beach at Spice Mill. We spent a few hours at Reggae Beach bar but felt Spice Mill was better for us. You can take islander watersports taxi across to Nevis from Reggae in about 8 min. I rented a car there for $60 for the day. We enjoyed the restaurants Marshalls, Carambalas and Farm at Hyatt plus Turtle Time and Golden Rock in Nevis. Nick has a book of menus and things to do. We say monkeys at the house daily and Mongoose loved to run out on road but too fast to get a picture. I definitely recommend this house and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the size of porch and trade winds blowing through the house. Comfortable bedrooms with AC, we all spent hours lounging in the pool. Amazing in every way!
This home was the cleanest VRBO I've we've ever been too ... no bugs, no grit, no sand, no hair. Spotless. The photos are exact respresentations of rooms and views. The A/C was great in the bedrooms for sleep. We kept the doors and window of the rest of the home open otherwise. The community is peacfully quiet. The kitchen is well organized. The grill worked great. Nick was easy to communicate with. Dwayne was great with the airport, rental truck and house needs. I highly recommended. I would return. Great VRBO experience!

St. Kitts Getaway
Nestled in a serene and secluded location on St. Kitts’ southeast peninsula, this vacation property exceeded all expectations, providing an unforgettable escape for our group of 5 family members. The patio and infinity pool offered an incredible panorama of Nevis across the Narrows. We spent quite a few hours each day in a combination of warm sun and cool breezes, while staring at the gorgeous blue waters. Inside the property was a well-equipped kitchen suitable for all our culinary needs. Whether we were preparing a leisurely breakfast or preparing a full dinner, we found we had all of the cookware and utensils we needed. An additional feature of this property was its tranquility and seclusion. A few other barely-visible houses were unobtrusive, which allowed us to enjoy a peaceful ambiance all day long. As an added bonus, the owners were very responsive to questions prior to arrival, providing helpful recommendations for dining and scuba diving. In summary, this vacation property offered an extraordinary experience. We are already planning on returning to this destination for another unforgettable getaway.

Wonderful Week
This home is fantastic! Exactly as described. We were looking for a peaceful, quiet week away from the hustle and bustle and this home was perfect. Gorgeous views! Short walk to Turtle Beach. Remote location. We saw 12-15 monkeys our first day there. And even though it's in an out of the way location, it's still very quick and easy to get to nearby restaurants, other beaches, etc. Only a 5 minute drive to Spice Mill(excellent food), the Park Hyatt (great Sunday brunch!), and the Coconut Farm (good breakfast and farmer's market on Saturday morning). Only a 10 minute drive to everything in the Frigate Bay area. The 20 minute drive back into town to the grocery store was also very easy. Also very easy to have takeout delivered to the house from many restaurants via 869ToGo.com. Enjoyed a day snorkeling at Carambola Beach. House was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. Renting a car through Dwayn, the property manager, was very easy. He met us right at the airport, had someone take us in the car to get the temporary drivers permit, even stopped at the grocery store with us, and then drove us out to the house. Also met us right at the airport to drop the car back off for our departure. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your home, Nick and Cathy!

Ideal Tropical Getaway
This beautiful house has thought of it all....the openness of the great room onto the patio was a welcome place for meals and gathering as a family. The pool was a big hit for the kids. Plenty of room for our family of 6 to spread out. This home is secluded in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough for easy outings. Majors Bay is just around the corner, where you can enjoy a hike to Shitten Bay and a shipwreck. Less than a 15 minute drive to multiple nice beaches to spend the day. Grocery store less than 20 minutes away where you can stock up on groceries to use the well appointed kitchen. Also convenient to many local restaurants - the Sprat Net is a cant miss for local, fresh caught seafood. Would definitely be our first choice for staying on St Kitts again!

About the host

Hosted by Nick Guise

Host profile image
Cathy comes from the New England area in America and Nick was born in England and came over to America in the early 80s. They both worked in the Biotechnology field which is where they met in the mid 90s and have been happily married, and avid travelers ever since.

Why they chose this property

We first visited St. Kitts with friends in 2001 and stayed at the Reggae Bar & Grill on Turtle Beach which closed at 6pm every night, leaving us upstairs in the apartment to the sounds of the ocean waves, the rustle of palm leaves and other nature-tunes that the tropical breeze brought. Of the 2-3,000 acres of land of the South East Peninsula, we were likely part of a night population of 15-20 people! A few years later, our friends built at Turtle Beach and for a number of years we benefitted by their hospitality. We realized after our first visit that, just like you see on the glossy pages of travel magazines, we had found “our” paradise, and made our own future plans to build.

What makes this property unique

We love to come here with no schedule in mind; we have enough of those in our work. If you need a place to kick back and relax, indulging yourself in doing nothing, or hiking, diving and being active, then our home and island will quickly get you in the mood. There are 3-4 beach restaurants within 3-5 minutes drive, each offering a little different style/quality of food. Sugar cane used to be the main industry of St. Kitts and its only been in the last 5-6 years that tourism has really started. So St. Kitts is not like most of the other well established, highly populated Caribbean islands. There is still plenty of serene, un-spoilt areas to visit, as well as night life along the beaches of Frigate Bay and the hotel areas. Hourly water taxis will take you over to Nevis to explore by bike, taxi or car.
