Authentic Cajun

This house is just what you could expect if you were going to stay at your great grandmaws house. It is very cozie and quaint. The beds are comfortable and the house has everything you could want or need.

Mardi gras 2025

Katie's guest house was ideally located and just right for us to see and dance our way through mardi gras this year. It was our first time in the area and we had fun exploring the Atchafalaya swamp, the dance halls and bars and the parades and celebrations for mardi gras. Our favorite Cajun band is Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys so we were in the right place at the right time! The only problem was which place to go because so much is happening all over, everywhere, at the same time.

Mixed Feelings

Stay was adequate. Back porch was nice (although no view). Neighbors were nice and we felt safe walking around. Beds were average comfort for vrbo.Listing had it 1.5 bathrooms. I don't count a random toilet in the laundry room with no toilet paper and no sink as a half bathroom.Communication with hosts were excessive and borderline rude in some situations. They have notes and signs posted all over the house which are excessive, sometimes rude, and a little ridiculous. I've had other VRBOs with a couple pages/folder with information which is nice. But I don't need 5 different signs in a bathroom, signs every 3 feet posted on a fence, notes on all walls and AC units. Additionally, I received multiple texts and VRBO messages telling me the same thing over and over again. It was too much. Also, reviews and description make it seem like there's lots of extras and freebies, I would disagree. There's a few things in the kitchen and bathroom but it's on the low end of useful things compared to other VRBOS. There was enough coffee for one day although we were there for 5 days. We bought stuff and left it there for the next people.

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay & will definitely be coming back to visit this location. Felt like home as soon as we walked in and the king size bed is to die for! Seriously best bed I’ve slept on in awhile! Katie was amazing with communication and making sure we felt welcomed!

Cajun country

Perfect place for Breaux Bridge’s Cajun culture!! When we do a Cajun kick it’s staying at this place. Perfect spot to be close after Cajun dancing at La Poussiere

AMAZING!!!

Katie is the best host out there. Always available when needed and provides extra compassion as a host. Being from the area, I am all too familiar with the ways of Southern hospitality, and this lovely bell nails it every time. I definitely recommend Katie and her wonderful home.

Wedding getaway

First a for most we weren’t supposed to check in until I think 4. We left our home the night before a was going to stop half way, but it didn’t happen like that an we drove all night. We got to Lafayette at 6:30 am an went to the Walmart to sleep. I messaged an asked to come early I’d pay that way we had a bed. Mrs. Katie went ahead an let us come early. Which was a huge blessing in itself. We came in and the house was just as described, you could tell you were in Louisiana. Beads hung everywhere. I wish I could have came a few weeks prior for Mardi Gras but no such luck! Maybe next year! Everything we needed was at our fingertips, if we needed it there was a store right around the corner. Everything was wonderful. My husband said the only thing he would have changed was not having blackout curtains in the room we stayed in. That way he could have slept a few more hours. My suggestion is bring an eye mask! Thank you so much to the Riley family for opening their place for my family an I!

Lovely home!

My three kids and I had the nicest stay here during a family wedding we came into town for. Katie was very communicative and thorough and we were very impressed with all of the welcoming and cozy features. Love the bead curtain! :) Thanks for our home away from home!

Annual family weekend

Our second year at this property, place is clean, host is the best, place is well stocked everything we needed for our stay was there, back porch is a great place to visit and unwind after a fun filled day!
