About this property
The Pond House - Separate Location-No Pets - Glamping Retro
This property is not located at Glamping Retro.
Escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoy your own piece of oasis. The Pond House sits on 6 acres along with our home, with a beautiful spring-fed pond, with mountain views. Relax outside in the hot tub for some stargazing, or read a good book on the porch and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee or glass of wine. The small imperfections add to the uniqueness of the property, and we know you will agree!

The space
The Pond House was once a workshop/storage building, on our property. We totally renovated it and turned it into a guest house/vacation rental for others to enjoy. We share this stunning location with Sharen’s Mom and our dog Tess. When you leave our shared driveway and head back to the Pond House you will feel like you are in your own world and we promise you full privacy during your stay. Being that the property is in a very secluded setting, do not be surprised if you get to experience wildlife from a distance. Our guest also love seeing the fish and turtle swim up to the deck to get fed. We provide food for you to feed them. This is one of the reasons why we don’t allow fishing, because our guest love seeing them and we do too! However we have lots of great stocked fishing spots close by that we would be more than happy to share with you.
When you pull down the driveway to your right you will see a big metal drum across the creek built into the ground. We have been told it was once used as a root cellar to store food and vegetables.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire Pond House, porch, deck, hot tub, and shared driveway. You are also welcome to walk anywhere on our property. Check out our real working outhouse and that beautiful bench on the other side of the pond that Tony made out of a huge chestnut tree that was cut down beside the Pond House.
* Also please note when exploring the property when facing the pond to your left the pond has a spill over that flows into another pond below us. Please be careful especially with children, because it could be dangerous if they were to fall. When we’ve had lots of rain and the pond is really flowing the sound is beautiful.
Other things to note
We have spring fed water with a filtration system, so our water is delicious! I stock the Refrigerator with a bottle of water per guest for you to take for your day trips.
We have a Smart TV that has Hulu with some local channels. You are also able to connect any of your accounts such as Amazon Prime, Netflix etc. to watch some of your favorite shows.
We now have high speed internet 5G, but remember this is a time to escape from the technology and enjoy nature, tranquility and each other!
Cell phone service is great for AT&T and Verizon customers, I’m not sure about other providers.
In the kitchen we have provided a griddle for pancakes, eggs, grilled cheese etc., toaster, electric tea kettle, one burner with a small pot and small frying pan, coffee maker with coffee and small creamers and sugars like at a coffee shop, microwave, small refrigerator with tiny freezer. The space is small, but upon request we can add Instapot, crockpot or blender. There is also a gas grill on the rocked patio area.

About the host
Your host

My husband Tony and I lived in Florida our entire lives, but we were always drawn north! We purchased our home in Erwin, TN in May of 2018. The reason we chose this area was our love for the beautiful Eastern TN mountains!
After opening The Pond House, our first vacation rental, in December of 2019, we loved it so much that we decided to open a family business based around unique vacation rentals with our daughter and son-in-law, called Glamping Retro. We love opening up our spaces to our wonderful guests, and will do whatever it takes to make your stay with us memorable!
