The Magical Forested Sea Cove

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

The Magical Forested Sea Cove is ideal for couple getaways, anniversaries, and honeymooners. It is located within Whaleshead Beach Resort, 17 miles north of the California border. Craggy bluffs, secluded beaches, and offshore rock formations await visitors as the cabin sits in the heart of the 12 ocean-hugging miles of the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor. Enjoy hiking the many breathtaking trails throughout the corridor or take a scenic drive on what has been described as the most beautiful area along the Southern Oregon Coast.

The private hot tub is perched on the large wrap-around deck to enjoy the ocean and forest views, as well as those starry night skies. Sitting up high in the small valley of the resort the fog drifts in and out, carrying with it that moist clean smell of the ocean and the forest. Watching the storms come in is one of our favorite things to do. Guests have described it as feeling like they are in a treehouse looking down on the resort and the ocean.

The stunning, not to be missed, Jedediah Smith Redwoods, are 30 mins south. Six miles south in Brookings, there is Brookings Harbor, a great place to enjoy fresh crab, award-winning clam chowder, and custom-made cocktails. Zola's has outstanding pizza, and entrees. Throughout the year the harbor is home to many festivals. The Kite Festival is one of our favorites.

Usually after a day or two of adventure, we and our guests, simply fire up the BBQ and sit back in the deck rocker or the hot tub to enjoy watching the many varieties of birds; wild turkeys, stellar jays, quail, hummingbirds, and the occasional osprey to name a few. During whale migration (December-January), you might get lucky enough to spot a whale or two. But many guests have seen whales year-round. We have binoculars available for your search.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots, pans, coffee, and a small amount of spices. There is nothing like looking out at views of the ocean fog while you cook up some freshly caught fish or crab!

Bitter Sweet

Home is great but Vacasa lacks the vigilance to conduct routine maintenance to ensure things in good working and functional.

Honeymoon

Whaleshead means a lot to us as it was our first vacation as a couple nearly a decade ago. We were so excited to be back and this cabin was perfect. So quiet, beautiful view, hot tub was amazing, stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking and the wifi worked great! Definitely would recommend for a relaxing getaway. We'll definitely be returning!

Weekend on the Oregon coast

The view is wonderful. We had a very relaxing time. The hot tub was clean and well cared for. The kitchen is NOT well stocked and the items in it are old and weathered by use, but the knives were sharp, so that’s good. We got by and were pleasantly surprised to have found a small cast iron pan that was relatively seasoned. I have been into a lot of vacation homes. This one was comfortable, and we all felt very safe. We didn’t want to leave. A person can walk to the nearby beach. However, the Highway must be crossed and the very steep walk back up the hill is not for novices. There is a full grocery/department store about 7 miles down the road with nearly anything you will need at reasonably low prices. If the hot tub gets low the outdoor spigot runs hot water-amazing! Fallow the map provided to find your cabin because the address is not fully recognized by map apps. It was a great trip, and we plan on another one soon.

It has a beautiful view

Hard time getting into the cabin, but after short call we got in. It’s a lovely small place just like we wanted. The view eating breakfast was amazing. But there are a couple of things the management should be aware of. The cleaning people are not cleaning the ceiling fans, dust was thick on blades and big chair next to sliding glass door has some kind of black looking mold on it and needs to be thrown out. We had great time:

A beautiful spot

The cabin is situated near the top of the hill with great views from the deck and hot tub. It had everything we needed and provided a great home base for our stay. Would rent again!

Highly recommend

Nothing to report poorly on. This cute little place with incredible views (and a deck, hot tub, and great windows to enjoy it) is a great find! Perfect little getaway!

Stay

The hot tub was not usable, reported it and was texted saying would be looked at. Nothing else happened. Should be issued a discount for this. Main reason we booked this unit

Beautiful cottage

Cottage was cozy, inviting, beautifully decorated. All amenities were there. Being in the hot tub with this ocean view is priceless. U20 is the best cabin here. I will vacation in this cabin each time I come to Oregon.

Perfect cozy cabin

We had a wonderful time at Linda and cabin. Hosts were very communicative and the location is excellent. Even though it's in the Whalehead resort area (as some reviewers pointed out), the cabin itself is on a hill and has a ton of privacy. The view is beautiful and we had everything we needed - a very cozy and comfortable stay. We hope to be back!

Awesome spot to vacation

It was an awesome stay with amazing views. Only problem is the the ad makes it look like a secluded cabin.its not its right in the middle of whales head. And the beds are not very comfy. Other than that super awsome

Incredible place! A must stay!

Beautiful cluster of wood paneled homes nestled on a hillside overlooking a spectacular view of the ocean lapping against rocky hills surrounded by misty evergreen forest. The home is quiet, spacious, and charmingly decorated in a beach theme with homey family photos. We enjoyed each having our own space with the main bedroom, loft, and pullout bed. We loved getting in the hot tub after a long day and grilling on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathroom had lots of cozy towels. We wished we could have stayed longer! Nothing like having your breakfast or coffee with a relaxing ocean view!

Fabulous Fog, Super Sunshine

Had a great two-night stay here. The fog coming up in the morning is amazing. The clear views are captivating. We were really impressed with how comfortable the bed on the main floor is. Thank you so much for sharing this space!

A perfect base camp to explore the south coast

Location, location, location--just a 2-minute drive or 10-minute walk from Whaleshead Beach, with at least a half-dozen other incredible beaches nearby, and only 6 miles from Brookings, this home was absolutely perfect for us. After our exploring, we loved coming back to the house and settling into the hot tub. It's a really cool, cozy spot; it feels private even with a bunch of other homes nearby on the hill. We were sorry to leave, and we're already plotting a return.

Great property!

My wife and I were extremely pleased with the property. It was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. It was a little bit of a hassle using the laundry facilities at the resort. It would have been much easier if there was a washer & dryer on the property but that would not stop us from staying there again.

Left 2 nights early, did not meet expectations.

The property was not really what I expected and over priced. The description led me to believe that we were right on the cliff on the ocean side, but actually we were across the street and the ocean view was very distant. The location was a mixed bag, cabins & RVs and our cabin specifically had a few issues, the shower did not drain properly so you were always standing in your dirty water when you showered, not to mention the shower curtain was very moldy on the bottom. The bed was very uncomfortable, the sheets were not deep enough to stay on the mattress and pillow top so everything crumpled to the middle of the bed while trying to sleep. The master bedroom was so small you could hardly move around and the upstairs bedroom I could not even stand upright and I am only 5’1”. The laundry facility was not impressive either, dirty and limited parking options. The only good thing about the stay there was the location was convenient and close to the Redwood Forrest, which is the main reason we chose Brookings the place to stay.
