Art Everywhere!
The house is so fun! Tony's art is everywhere and is lovely. There are so many thoughtful touches and everything you might need. The backyard is wonderful and clearly a labor of love. The only downside is that the house is not as clean as I would have expected it to be. The only downside to this is that

A Hidden Gem
Tony is the man! A true artist who takes pride in the work he has done with his property. I fought with myself to even write this review because this place is Austins hidden GEM. A true retreat for people wanting the full Austin experience. Tony was very accommodating with our large group of 9 guests. We were very comfortable the whole time and felt right at home. Each room is an experience with his art and to cap it all off the backyard is a sanctuary in itself. We bbq, had a fire pit, and enjoyed the overall vibe of this property. Were all artists ourselves so that was a major PLUS. We will be back for sure.

Very awkward layout
Well. We booked this place because of the glowing reviews so we felt we needed to tell the truth about this place. The art is very cool. The yard is nice. The neighborhood seems safe and is quirky. Really nothing much to walk to, but I learned Austin is a place where you drive everywhere. You can tell it’s well loved and inhabited by a creative. However. In order to access the yard you have to walk through either the bathroom or a bedroom. The house is so cluttered it could never truly be clean. We made it through the long weekend but we all could hardly wait to be out of there.

Amazing Austin Oasis!
This is probably the best property I've stayed at in Austin, and I've stayed in about a dozen Central Texas properties. Incredibly eccentric in a good way! The owner is an incredible artist and you are reminded of his talent in every room, with finished pieces or paintings that are works in progress. And the the backyard has had some serious love poured into it, with a heavily Japanese design influence pervasive through the structures, Zen gardens, standalone tea room, and multiple areas lounge and relax amongst your live-in cat and tortoise co-occupants. I will be returning here the next time I need a relaxing break!

Quirky and fun!
We rented this house for my son’s graduation. It was a fantastic weekend. The Japanese yard was amazing and we found new things to ponder at every turn! Shelly the tortoise put on quite the show and enjoyed lots of strawberries. Tony the owner was very informative and everything in the house and the art had a story.

Keep Austin Weird!
This was a really cool place to stay. Though it may not be for everyone and the layout was a bit strange, we really enjoyed our stay. 10 adults can sleep comfortably, including 2 elderly grandmas. The backyard is a paradise and Shelly (the Turtle) was so cool. We had a blast feeding her. Tony was a lovely host and answered all our questions. He even gave us suggestions for the area and accommodated our last-minute late check-out request.

Son's wedding
This property was very enjoyable. Tony, the owner, is an artist who clearly has spent years loving this house, decorating it with his art and a collection of items he loves and has collected from his travels. From the art on the walls to the Japanese garden to Shelly the tortoise you never run out of things to look at, corners to explore, and places to relax. We had three different generations of family staying at the house and there was literally something for everyone to enjoy from flat screen tvs to antique and vintage furniture. We enjoyed the living room which is not large but very comfortable with plenty of seating for everyone as well as time spent sitting in the gardens in the evenings. If you are looking for a modern day cookie cutter home this is not for you but if you are looking for something distinctly Austin then this is your place. Thanks Tony for the great tour and for sharing your home and art!!

Great creative place!
My family and I enjoyed staying here for Thanksgiving. There was more than enough space and we really enjoyed the creativeness of Tony’s home. He was a great host and the Japanese garden backyard was beautiful. My dogs enjoyed barking at the tortoise when they got the pleasure to encounter it. The location was amazing and the neighborhood was quiet. Thank you for sharing your home!

Wonderful, Beautiful, Cozy!
Thank you again Tony for a wonderful stay. We loved your eclectic home and your welcoming energy. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for your generosity and your flexibility with the check-out process, as well as the changing number of guests. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was fully equipped, the back yard was beautiful, and the original artwork was absolutely gorgeous. There’s a fire pit in the yard, a guitar and other instruments for playing music, ample parking, and it’s close to many conveniences in the area. Thank you again for everything Tony!

Comfortable artist vibe
This rental feels more like a home, being very comfortable, but not too tight or small for the price or location. There owner introduced us to the space, each room has a name and each art piece has a meaning and each space an intention. The backyard is a Japanese garden theme, filled with greenery, a bridge, water features , a pond with coy, and places to sit and enjoy the breezes and surrounding art. There was an extensive book collection as well, so I sat and read some poetry while listening to the water falls in the yard. Nice place!

Owner was very nice and even delivered us breakfast one morning! Backyard is amazing and even had a beautiful 23 year old tortoise living in the backyard. Would love to stay there again!!!
