Mountain cabin on beautiful trout stream near Soque River

Located near Batesville this lovely, secluded mountain cabin on 5+ acres, overlooks Raper Creek and the Chattahoochee National Forest. This cabin is rustic (pine floors and walls with mountain laurel bannister and porch railing) and comfortable, with modern kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There is a great room with a large rock fireplace, two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen and the other with a double bed. The loft has a double bed and 2 twins Plus a bath. There is also an outside shower for your use when coming in from playing in the creek.The large screened porch and rock fire pit overlook the trout stream with beautiful shoals.

Tranquility @ Blackburn Cabin

This is our fourth time staying at the Blackburn Cabin and each time we fall in love with the cabin and area all over again. Clean and comfy! Can't wait to return!

Peaceful Relaxation

This cabin was perfect for our family of 7. We had enough bed space for everyone. The land around the home and the stream beside it were amazing features that allowed us to explore and relax listening to the mountain sounds. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. We did bring coffee, sugar, extra paper towels, and extra toilet paper. If staying for a longer period than 3-4 nights, I would recommend bringing washing detergent. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Helen Cabin Vacation

The view and the area around the cabin were beautiful. The cabin itself was adorable and clean. We did have a couple of squeaky visitors and one committed suicide in the washing machine so be careful. But, that is to be expected when you are enjoying the great wilderness!

Quick retreat from the city.

This is probably the 5-6th time that we’ve stayed at this property, it’s a great, quick escape from the city. Warm days, cool nights, no need to leave unless you want to. No need for us to leave, sat in the river for 3 days. Looking forward to next visit!

A Well Kept Secret

This is the second time that I've stayed at this cabin, and I love staying here. It is on beautiful property with a lovely creek next to the house. The cabin itself is comfy and quaint and not too far from all the north Georgia adventures. I'm worried that word is out about this place, and it won't be long before it is all booked up. This place would be a great place to spend the weekend with a family with plenty of outdoor space for kids to run free. I'm sure I'll be back before too long.

Relaxing Birthday Get Away

I chose to celebrate my 50th birthday at this wonderful cabin. We had other family staying nearby and used this house as our home base. The property was beautiful and we spent many hours playing board games on the screened-in porch, playing ball in the yard, wading in the water, and having bonfires with smores every night. It was a weekend we will not forget. We all agree that we would like to make this our meeting place for future family gatherings and getaways.

Graduation getaway

This magical place has a very special place in our hearts, we’ve made so many memories here over the last 8 yrs. Our daughter graduated high school and the only thing she wanted to do to celebrate was come back to her favorite place on earth!! The lightning bugs dancing across the fields was like a scene out of a fairytale!! Absolute perfection as always!! Thank you to the Blackburn family for sharing this home with us. Beautiful property and stream

The screened porch just a few feet away from the stream made relaxing so easy. Very peaceful with no close neighbors. Cabin was easy to get to. No cell phone service but wi-fi calling worked.

Beautiful property

My husband, three boys, and I stayed for a quick weekend getaway. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We could’ve stayed all day listening to the water and looking for fish. None were caught but my boys did have fun trying. We did venture out a little. The location is close to lots of hiking, falls, and Helen. Would love to come back and explore more sometime.

SOQUE FISHING

Four minute drive to Blackhawk to fish the Soque River put this cabin in a great location for our group of 4 anglers. The large secluded property with creek, screened porch, and fire pit is perfect for those who enjoy being outdoors.

Perfect getaway

We had the best Thanksgiving getaway at John's place! The cabin is wonderful and the property is beautiful- words don't do it justice! We stayed with our young boys, parents and grandparents and it was cozy but enough room for us all. The loft is very big and perfect for a couple with two kids. The stream and bridge on the property was picturesque. Our boys loved playing in the stream, despite the cooler temps. They were in heaven! We plan to come back in the spring when we can really enjoy the porches and just sit and listen to the rushing water. Such a fun location with waterfalls, hiking, and cute shops nearby. Thank you for this wonderful retreat!

Weekend getaway with the Granddaughters

Have wanted to bring our 3 granddaughters to this cabin for years now! They are about to move away to MAINE (!), so we scooped them up and spent an amazing weekend in this magical place. Another excellent visit to this great cabin.

Great communication with the owner, cabin was accessible as described. Had a blast with family of 4, (2 kids, 12 and under). A trip to Sunburst Stables for horse riding, visit to Mark of the Potter, running, fishing, use of the field, lounging in the stream. College football playing on the DirectTV, stargazing (2 shooting stars seen for the first time by our girls). Had fun spotting cabin and property differences from our last visit (we've been here >5 times). Hope to be back soon.

Great mountain experience

Had a very good stay in this house. Had a small snag with check in as the unit was not cleaned however the owner was quick to respond and got this sorted out quickly also sent us for dinner on him. The unit was as advertised but the land far surpassed our expectations. The kids played on the stream daily, caught fish (small fish), crawfish, saw a snake and woodchuck. We saw deer multiple times driving to town, Helen was 20 min away which was an easy drive. There was also a field which we used to throw boomerang and football purchased from a junk shop in town. I will be renting this again in the summer!
