Horrific Experience
I'd insist seeing before reserving.There's reason why full payment is due BEFORE arrival, unlike others.Usually, security deposit OR property insurance is required, not BOTH. Photos are not accurate.Why don't these reviews allow photos from guests? I'm sure the owner will have some response as to why this is retaliatory, this owner's responses always do. Read them. There's other units listed in same building.My opinion, positive reviews are guests hoping for security back. Reviews should be allowed past the 2 week required for return deposits. I was catcalled and harassed daily.1st floor florist same owner. Floral district not as expected. Loud deliveries 5am, mud, watering, blocking entry.Men sitting on doorstep/entrance to bldg, make inappropriate/aggressive comments,while smoking/drugs,didn't move for allowing enough space to get into the bldg so unnecessarily close. One looked up my neighbor’s skirt, one made hand gestures as if grabbing my breasts. I was yelled at, barked at, & followed.Unprofessional, erratic, rude & disturbing behavior from the staff (in person/online). Felt unsafe. Requests for excessive additional money in CASH. Unit disgusting. Waited hours to check in. Overcharged 2 cleaning fees. Had to wear shoes,filthy floors turned feet black. Curtains ripped, dirty & thin. Bought air purifier, bc musty ODD SMELL. All clothes, luggage smell now. Everything white is now YELLOW (Paper, clothing, books) Wall a/c mold/dust. While finishing showering, heard someone attempt to open door. Then, I found window COMPLETELY OPENED. Windows did not lock, as per review for other unit. Terrified, paid for hotel. Flies in unit/lobby. No fire extinguishers, as per reviews. Lobby disgusting. Dirty & spilled paint, walls/tiles crumbling. Rotting food on stairs/lobby days (rats). Trash room overflowing. Many stairs (luggage, groceries, laundry). Unsettling holes in walls, & bathroom. Closet doors stuck.Furniture is damaged/old. Dressers' legs broken. Mattress full, NOT queen, like sleeping on concrete. 1 lamp worked.Table unstable.Chairs stained. Appliances,pots/pans old,rusted, filthy.Mismatched few silverware/tableware. All drains slow. Caulking covering mold in shower. Mirror cabinet chipped, rust.Water temperature uncontrolled, burned as it got hotter on its own. NOISE absurd.Grew up in nyc, this is excessive(cars, sirens, construction, yelling, fighting, partying). Random people buzzed intercom.Radiator loud, smells burning. Bldg REEKS of pot!
