Family friendly with great views

We had a great family vacation at Golden Rock with our 3 kids (7 and under). The kids enjoyed easy walk in access to the lake and the row boat as well as the sandbox and outdoor shower. We made s’mores every night and hung out on the bench swings. We also rented a boat one day and explored Lake Champlain - wildlife watching, tubing, and lunch at the Old Dock. The short walk to Indian Bay to grab ice cream or dinner was also so convenient. We’ll be back, thanks!

Wonderful Week on Willsboro Point

We were looking for a lake front cottage that would accept pets and were so lucky to find this spot. The cottage is right on the water with amazing views of the lake and the mountains. It was spotlessly clean and well-appointed with everything we needed. I can't say enough about how kind, thoughtful, and fun the hosts Bobbi and Randy were, and how welcome they made us feel. Being new to the area, it was great to have their tips about what to do, where to eat, and how to enjoy lake life. We hope to return next year.

Beautiful Lake Front Rental

My husband and our little toddler were looking for a family friendly place to stay on Lake Champlain, if you’re looking for a similar place look no further! A beautiful location and wonderful stay at camp. Just a short drive from the historical town of Essex, hour drive to Lake Placid, and thirty minutes to Plattsburgh. Bobbi was very prompt and welcoming, even as we were unfamiliar with the area coming from California. Would love to visit again!!

Perfect family vacation

Golden Rock Camp was the perfect place for our family fishing vacation. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. They anticipated our needs before we even thought of it. The brand new pack and play, the brand new high chair, and all the plug protectors made us feel that our little were truly welcome. The fresh sand in the sand box along with children’s chairs and a picnic table was so appreciated....so thoughtful! The swimming area was soft and sandy. The view was outstanding. We hope to return!

Super September Week!

We've rented the camp now for 6 years (always the same early September week) and the weather was fantastic!! The place was as clean and comfortable as ever. We had friends down on different days and had plenty of room to offer them an overnight stay and on the one overcast day we joined my brother-in-law for some golf at the beautiful local 9-hole course. The view from inside with all the new windows is just stunning! The lake was perfect with the mooring for our boat and kayaks at our disposal. The week truly was one of the best we've ever had and have already booked for next year! We love it!!!

TRADITION

We've been coming to Willsboro since the early 60's; with many of our friends and family still calling Willsboro Point their summer home. Randy & Bobbi are fantastic hosts; their camp has some of the best views on the point. Dock and mooring available for all your toys. Lake frontage is pristine!!! It's a fisherman's paradise, with monster smallmouth / largemouth hitting on crankbaits! At days end, a cocktail or two on the porch? Or maybe dinner at IBM? Sunsets are amazing!!! And don't forget Ethel's.... 'Michigans' are a must! Thanks for another great visit, it's the best 2 weeks of our year. Best to all; until next year.

Thanks For A Great Vacation

This was our families' first visit to Lake Champlain and it won't be our last. This camp is spotlessly clean, well maintained and contains everything needed for a great vacation. The location, above all else is simply amazing. great for swimming, boating, campfires, star gazing and just relaxing. The thing that puts it over the top however, is the personal care and concern shown by Bobbi and Randy and their family. Thanks again for a wonderful time.

Family Retreat for Plattsburgh Graduation

We anticipated renting a cottage for the week and instead got a well maintained, clean home right on the lake. The location is second to none. The views are surreal. We would take the row boat out and could see the bottom of the lake a good 20 feet down. I have never seen anything like it. The trip to Plattsburgh is less than 40 minutes. It is about an hour to Lake Placid and an hour with a Ferry Ride which is always fun to Burlington. The home itself was spotless. The bedrooms all have queen size beds, which is nice with 3 sets of couples (no couple gets the twin beds room). The living space is open with plenty of seating around the tv, with a huge table in the kitchen. We had great weather and spent most of our time outside at the picnic tables for our meals. The owners are the most gracious hosts and are so eager and willing to help in anyway they can. They are nearby for your convenience but not overbearing. They are so kind I can't say enough about them. The process for renting was so easy from beginning to end. The attention to detail they pay to their renters and how they want you to feel as if it is your own home is priceless. We went up for a College Graduation and needed a place for a week. What we left with is a place we all want to return to year in and year out.

Paradise at Lake Champlain

My husband and I took our two grandchildren, 11 and 13, on vacation, and a wonderful memory was created. The home was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Its location in a well protected cove was ideal. The owners, Barbara Payee and Doug Young, were friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. Days were spent fishing, boating, tubing, and swimming. Evenings were for barbecues and toasting smores in their firepit. We took our 17' boat to Burlington, Vermont, which was 15 minutes away. Another day, we drove our grandchildren to Quebec, Canada, which was about a half hour away. We would highly recommend this scenic retreat to everyone.

Terrific place to vacation

My family just experienced a fabulous two weeks stay at the camp. We had 6 adults, a toddler and an infant and everyone was very comfortable. The owners are extremely friendly and do whatever they can to make a stay pleasant. They are pet friendly (literally), accommodating, and provide all the “little” extras that make a visit easy and special. The kitchen was well equipped with basics (pots, pans, silverware, plates) and extras (blender, food processor, two refrigerators). The washer / dryer help with a longer stay and young children. Outside you are right on the water with good boat facilities, a row boat, a large dock, a gas grill, a “fire ring” and comfortable seating for relaxation or enjoying the scenery. The location is close to many off lake activities (golf, Lake Placid, Ausable Chasm). We definitely recommend the camp and plan to return.

Home Away From Home

We stayed at the camp in June of 2014. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The camp is very cozy and has everything you need. The owners went above and beyond to try and help with my disabled mom to make sure she had everything she needed. Town of Wilsboro is quaint, went for a walk everyday, so peaceful. We give it a thumbs up!

Amazing!

We stayed at the camp last week 6-14 to 6-21 and has an amazing week. The owners were just incredible to work with. They greeted us upon our arrival and were there when ever we had a question. It was so nice to find an affordable place that allowed us to bring our dog. He had the time of his life. We even caught a huge fish. If you want a family friendly place with warm and welcoming owners this is the place for you!

Beautiful! Beautiful!

Our week here was fantastic! The online pictures were right on but of course could not do the view justice. It was so gorgeous and relaxing. I would have been content to sit in the swing all day. The beach was sandy and we enjoyed the water...swimming and fishing. The camp was very clean and roomy. The owners were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this rental in a heartbeat.

Fantastic Vacation

We rented this house for one week with 6 adults and 2 small children ages 9 months and 2 years and we could not have asked for a better house. All items that are listed does not do it justice it comes with so much more, the kitchen is well stocked all we had to do is cook the food. To be able to walk right out the door and have the water right there was perfect, the dock and mooring were just perfect for our boat and the view of the lake and mountains were just wonderful. The owners of this property were just a phone call away so if there were any problems or anything we needed they were right there to accommodate us they are such wonderful people to deal with. We spent one day in Burlington, VT and that is just a 20 minute boat ride away or you can take one of three ferries available. Such a wonderful place to rent and we would most definitely love to go back could not have asked for a better place to stay. The Nichols and Doll Families-Connecticut

Stormy Weather

We arrived for the 2013 Memorial Day weekend to the worst weather that time of year that anyone can remember. Fortunately we were able to make the best out of it. We had my sons third birthday party with around 25 people inside the camp (for the party) and it didn't feel crowded. The weather was down in the thirties with pouring rain and 50 MPH winds and the camp was still warm and cozy. The huge dining room table, extra fridges and open floor plan make the camp a great place to play games and entertain friends and family who might visit. The hosts were extremely accomodating and made our stay as enjoyable as possible. The only thing we lacked for a perfect weekend was the sun ;-) We would definitely recommend the camp to anyone wanting a nice place on the lake in an area surrounded by woods and wildlife. -The Bakers

"Hooked"

This was the second time we have stayed at the camp. We had previously stayed in the Fall and have enjoyed it immensely both times. The camp is very comfortable and relaxing, and includes the conveniences that most of us enjoy at home. The location has a great view and has been perfect for us. There is a waterfront that is usable for both children and adults, a large public boat launch nearby, and access to a dock and mooring buoy. We enjoy fishing and while that is our principal activity, we have also found Burlington and Charlotte both convenient and interesting. The owners are very responsive and , this spring, even helped us to launch our 23" cuddy cabin. We hope to return. - JTM

Host profile image
Born here, grew up here, live here and retired here. Can't imagine being anywhere else from Spring to Fall than on Lake Champlain. As for my brother, the co-owner, he was born here and returned here after a short time away, but always spent his summers here with his family every opportunity they had. This is where 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th generation family members have made great memories, and we hope it will be the spot for many wonderful memories made by your family.

Why they chose this property

Our parents turned this property over to my brother and I many years ago, so the property would remain in the family. When it is not rented, many family memories of birthdays, anniversaries, and family reunions are made and recalled. This waterfront property is conveniently located near the marina, the State Boat Launch, a Golf Course, Tennis Courts, pickleball court and in close proximity to so many great day trips, and if you just want to relax, it offers just the right setting. Look at our Reviews!!!!! It also fits the needs of fishermen looking for a place to stay with our 60 foot dock and mooring.

What makes this property unique

Experience first-hand as the benefits have different uniqueness to different guests..
