Not happy with the cottage
We stayed in this cottage last week. Cottage is very old and outdated. I mean from Windows to doors. Kitchen , furnace needs to work. You can see the light coming in from the walls. There is mice in the cottage and lots of small flys. Temperature drops down to 40s at night and furnace doesn't heat the house property. Our room was very cold. This is the first time we are staying such an old place and it is not fair for the money we paid.

An oldie but goodie!
The cabin itself is an old log cabin, and despite its age was very comfortable. The place was exceptionally clean and well appointed. If you are looking for an old timely log cabin, this would be a good choice. The owners were helpful and very nice.

Very nice quaint place.
My wife and I had a great time relaxing up here. The cabin was exceptionally clean! This is a great place for a small family or couple to stay in. We loved how quite it is but also close to towns, restaurants, attractions etc. Would definitely do it again if we come back to this lake. The owner was also very nice and helpful, couldn't ask for a smoother booking experience.

Great getaway
Four of us rented this cabin and we had a wonderful experience. It was very clean, well maintained, and the owner was very accommodating and friendly. The lake was so very peaceful and relaxing. We definitely would think of renting again.

Great Cabin and Great Hospitality
This cabin was a real find. We were lucky to find it. The initial impression is a true up north lake cabin. Very clean and cozy. Very close to the lake. The grounds were well kept, with nice outdoor furniture, a charcoal grill and fire pit just steps from the door and from the lake. My wife and I planned to book for next year just moments after our arrival. Our host, Fred, was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We had a terrific time visiting nearby Topinabee, Indian river, the cross in the woods, and Cheboygan. We loved boating the inland route and the fishing in Mullett is solid. The bike trail is literally steps away and goes for miles. I highly recommend this property for a great up north summer experience.

Great Old School Cabin on the Water
We were two couples celebrating our husbands' October birthdays with a weekend getaway and had a great time at this cabin! It's getting harder and harder to find these old cabins and this one is fantastic! All the old-school 'up north' Michigan charm with modern amenities. First of all, the entire cabin was immaculately clean - not easy in an old place like this. The kitchen and bathroom sparkled, there wasn't a bit of dust or a cobweb anywhere. The kitchen appliances look to be brand new, as is the very comfortable living room furniture. The furnishings are simple and comfortable and attractive. The decorating is sweet - very 'up north' and cabin-like, and it's obvious Fred and his family take a lot of pride in their cabins. Since it was October we couldn't take advantage of the lakefront location - other than to admire the view - but we all commented on how it would be great in the summer to swim and boat there. Our only disappointment was that the fireplace - which is a great-looking old stone beauty - doesn't work. But it was a warm weekend and we really didn't miss it. We had a great time just hanging out and hope to return again!
